Just Say Yes

“Hey did I wake you up?"
“No you didn’t I just got home from Nashville. What’s wrong?"
“Patrick is hurt and I think his collarbone is broken."
“Man that sucks.”
“I know but I have been feeling weird for the past couple of days. So while Patrick is getting is collarbone fixed and I went to get a test done."
“K? Are you pregnant?"
“I am Tyson and I have no idea what to do. I don’t want to tell him about this after he gets out of surgery. He’s so sad that he’s going to miss the rest of the season."
“K, this will make him happy that he will become a farther to an amazing kid. Patrick will be so happy that you’re going to be the mother of his kid."
“Really? Wow thank Tyson. I should get going and you need some rest. I’ll text you what’s going on. One more thing before I let you go."
“Sure, what is it?"
“Don’t tell anyone about this that includes Matt."
“My lips are sealed.” Kennedy could see Patrick’s bed being pushed into his room. Once she got off the phone with Tyson she was next to his bed. He was still out from the surgery. She can see the scar on his left shoulder. Patrick looked so peaceful in his sleep. Kennedy was happy from what Tyson said about that she’s going to be a great mom. Now Kennedy knows how Patrick feels from what happen to her a long time ago. How is Kennedy going got tell Patrick of what’s going on now? Then her phone was ringing it was Addison. She step out of the room and answer the call.
"Hey Addison."
"How's Patrick?"
"He's fine right now,he's sleeping because he just got out of surgery from the left side of his collar bone. I need to tell you something that can only keep from you and Jon."
"What's going on Kennedy?"
"I just found out that I'm pregnant?"
"Oh my fucking god ! Jon I'll tell you later. Kennedy I'm so happy for you! When are you going to tell him?"
"I don't know when but I will figure it out soon."
"Ok, if you need any help you know to call me."
"I know so you go back to the twins because I am tried and needed to head home soon."
"Sure, good night Kennedy."
Kennedy left her place to head to the hospital to see how Patrick is doing. On the way she though of something and headed to her dad’s hotel. Maybe her dad will help her of what’s going on. When she knocked on the door Brent was surprise that she was here.
“Kennedy I though you were with Patrick. How is he?"
“I’m heading there right now. He’s doing ok but I need to talk to you about something and it’s about Patrick.” They walked into his room and sat down on one of the made beds in his room.
“Honey, what’s going on between you and Patrick?"
“Things are going great dad, but I found out some news yesterday while Patrick was in surgery.” Brent nodded his head for her to keep going.
“Dad I found out that I’m pregnant.” Then Kennedy found a light in her dad’s eyes.
“Your pregnant, honey I am so happy for you. Have you told Patrick about this yet?"
“That’s the thing, I want to tell Patrick but I don’t want to tell him at this sate he’s going to be stress from everything."
“Everything?"
“From being out for the rest of the season, me helping him and then he’s going to think that he going to put my job on hold to help him. Now having a baby on the way.” Brent put his hands on her shoulders to calm her down.
“A broken collar bone is going to heal before the baby is going to be here. Patrick will be on the ice before the playoffs. No he’s big boy, he knows that your an adult like him and you can mange work and helping him out."
“How can I tell him? I have though of a lot of things but I can’t see the end of how he’s going to act."
“Do you want me to tell you the story of how your mother told me when she was having you?” Kennedy nodded her head.
“I met your mother my freshman year in college. I though she was the most beautiful women I have seen in my lifetime. That’s where you got your looks from thank god it didn’t come from me. Anyway when we both graduated from college she wanted to come with me. She didn’t know what to do after college, all she wanted to lay back to go with the flow. When I took the job in Thunder Bay's main newspaper she pack all of stuff and was ready to go. I was waiting for her at the airport when I see her coming my way. She had her suitcase and a little bag. When she handed me the bag all she said was it was a graduation gift. I dig my hand into the bag and pulled out my favorite onesies that I loved to put you in. The onesies had a photo with a typer writer. That's how she told me. I have an idea for you but that means you have to wait a little bit longer to tell Patrick."
It has been a week since Kennedy's dad told her a plan to tell Patrick the big news. Today was the day that they move into their new place. Everyone on the team help pitch in and Patrick was telling them where to put things. While Kennedy was putting name tags on the doors to make sure that the guys won't get lost. Kennedy made sure that no one will do into one room because nothing goes into that one. Jon kinda knew what's going on because Kennedy can see the look on his face that Addison told him. Which is fine because Jon knows how to keep secrets from people. When everything was in their place Kennedy and Patrick told everyone thank you. They sat on the couch looking at the guide to know what they wanted to watch.
"Patrick?"
"Kennedy?"
"Can I show you something? Do you have the enough energy ?"
"Yes I do." Kennedy help Patrick up from the couch and lead Patrick to the empty room.
"I was going to ask you why this doesn't have a name tag." Patrick pointed at the door they were standing in front.
"Well is because I don't have a name for this one yet. I though maybe we can name this one." When Kennedy open the door, the room was bare. But only one thing was in the middle of the room. It was a rocking chair with something is laying on top of the chair. It was a onesies. Patrick moved in closer and look at the chair. He didn't remember when they bought this or seeing this being moved in.
"This chair was mine when I was a baby." When Patrick picked up the onesies it finally click in his head.
"Your pregnant! Kennedy that's amazing new that I heard what feels like forever." Kennedy could see that Patrick had the same look when she told her farther the news. Patrick put down the onesies and place his right hand on her cheek. His lips softly placing it on her lips.
"When did you find out?" Kennedy told him the story, how she called Tyson, Addison and her dad.
"I didn't know how would I told you when you had to deal with your collar bone. Beside my dad told me a good surprise. Was this a great surprise?"
"This was an amazing surprise, honey I'm so happy that we can start a family like Addison and Jon. The chair looks amazing."
"I know my dad fixed it up before we moved it in here a couple of days ago." Patrick sat down in the chair and stared at Kennedy's stomach."
"Hey little one, it's daddy speaking. I know that you can't hear me right now but I will be the best farther than Jon will be. I don't care if you are a boy or girl. I know that deep down inside you will be a hockey player just like me or be a great writer like you mommy. I haven't met you yet and I love you." Kennedy kiss the top of Patrick's head. They both headed into their bedroom and went to bed. It's going to be another long day for the both of them when telling the news to everyone else.
