Just Say Yes

Kennedy was confused when the words came out of Josh’s mouth.
“What do you men LA?”
“I’m sending you to LA and Vail to do an interview with Sidney Crosby. Follow in his footsteps of what the face of the NHL does off the ice. So can you do that? Everything is paid.” Kennedy did want to do this interview of Crosby. She heard so many good things from Addison while she met him during the Winter Olympics. She was also mad at Patrick for coming home hung over.
“Sure I’ll take it.”
“Great!” Josh grabs a folder out of his desk and handed it to her.
“Everything that you need it in there for you and includes Crosby’s number and his mangers to. Thanks Kennedy. You’re the perfect person that can do this for me.” Kennedy looked into the folder and sees when the flight was at. The flight was tomorrow morning. She was staying in LA for two days and Vail for another two days. Josh let her go home and let her do another interview about how parents can afford their kids to play hockey. It was hard for Kennedy because she never really played hockey and she’s not a parent to any children. When she got home and it looks like Patrick was sleeping in the guest room.
About an hour trying to get this page done before she needs to get her things pack. She couldn’t get one word on to the page about this situation. She could have looked online but she didn’t want to do that. Then she remembers when she was in high school and can’t get any words out for her paper she would go into the bathroom and just think. So she grabs her Macbook and went into her bathroom. When she sets her Macbook on top of the toilet. Then an idea was kick in and her fingers were flying everywhere on the keyboard.
When Patrick woke up he wanted to talk to Kennedy. So he picked up his phone and called Kennedy but it went straight to her voicemail. Patrick opens the door and sees her jacket on the kitchen table. So she has to been home and he went to her office. Reaching to her office she wasn’t there. He looked everywhere around the their place. But he didn’t look at one place, the bathroom and once he open the door to their bathroom. There was Kennedy looking at Macbook that was on the toilet. Her headphone in her ears and reading her pages that she just finishes. He leans on the door watching Kennedy reading the screen. When Kennedy was done reading her page, she sees Patrick in the corner of her eye. She took off her headphones and look at Patrick. He could the disappointment in her eyes from what happen this morning.
“What are you doing in here?”
“I needed somewhere to think.”
“About what?”
“Everything.” Patrick sat down next to her.
“Can we talk about this morning?”
“Why should we? I’m still mad at you.”
“I’m sorry about this morning. When I'm with you I don’t fell like I need to drink but when I am back home with my guys they want me to drink.”
“Then tell them no.”
“It’s hard for me to tell them no.” Then Kennedy rolled her eyes.
“I got Jon’s voicemail and I can’t believe that we are going to be god parents.”
“I know right. But I have some big news.”
“Yeah.”
“Josh is sending me to LA and Colorado.”
“Why?” Patrick now getting angry.
“He wants me to follow and interview Crosby for a couple of days.”
“How many days?”
“About four days and I’m leaving tomorrow.”
“Did you have a say about this?”
“I did and I took it because I was angry this morning at you and.” Patrick got up from the floor and walked away. Kennedy got up and followed Patrick.
“So you are taking a trip because you’re mad at me.”
“I just want you to feel how upset I am when you are in Buffalo and I am here all alone.”
“I can’t just take time off.”
“Yes you can because that’s why it’s called off season. I though you were living with me not living here and Buffalo.”
“That’s not true.”
“Yes it is. I don’t see you a lot because you’re in Buffalo playing more hockey. Yet here I am feeling like I am living by myself. I’m just tried of it Patrick. I though you love me.”
“I do.”
“We it doesn’t feel like it right now. I forgot what your kiss is like. Or when you touch me, saying that you love me. Maybe this trip was a good idea.” Kennedy turns around and didn’t let Patrick say anything to help him. Patrick didn’t know what to do now. So he just follows Kennedy to their bedroom and watches her pack.
“Is there anything that would make you change your mind on leaving?” Kennedy was almost done packing and looking at Patrick’s eyes. She could see the sadness.
“Patrick I told him that I would do this and that I’m the only person that writes about hockey.” He walked up to her and grabbed the shirt that she was about to pack.
“Please don’t leave.”
“I can’t I have a job to and I know if I ask you if you want to come with me but you will say-.”
“I have a hockey game.” Patrick cut her off because he knew that this was going to happen.
“Sometime I wish that you were Jon.” She walked into the bathroom to grab her Macbook.
“What does Jon have to do with this?”
“Addison told me that Jon hasn’t touch any ice since the playoffs. Yet you don’t want to leave the ice. Leaving me here to think that everything is my fault for us living in New York. Jon is also helping out Addison with her having his kid and planning a wedding.” Kennedy put the rest of her stuff into the bag.
“I do miss you when you’re here and not in Buffalo with me.”
“Patrick there’s nothing that will change my mind now I am going to do my job.”
