One Shots

“Sorry I’m late.”

Eliina said as she hurried into the spare workout room turned yoga room. Everyone was on their mats talking to one another when she walked in.

“Way to go.”

“Shut up Barrie.”

She told the defenceman without even looking over at him. She kicked off her light brown Uggs and threw her LuluLemon bag on the floor next to her Uggs.

“How’d you know it was me?”

“Oh please, you never miss an opportunity to criticize me. Plus you opened your big fat mouth.”

Tyson laughed at her and was about to say something else when his captain, Gabriel Landeskog, punched him in the arm. Barrie gave him a look and he gave him one back.

“Quit giving her shit all the time.”

Tyson rolled his eyes and looked up at the front of the room.

Eliina was rolling out her mat then she got up and ran over to dim the lights.

“Sorry again folks, I had to drop off the boyfriend.”

A round of boos came for the NHLers around the room.

“Oh, stop it.”

Almost all of the guys hated her boyfriend of three years, Bryce. He was a firefighter for the city and he was class A douche bag. He would always make her late because some lame excuse, or he won't let her go out the them for a beer or golf charity game because he thought she would cheat on him. Bryce hated Eliina’s job, a young girl like herself with a job as a yoga instructor for a professional sports team, he thought that she was bonded to cheat on him at some point.

If Bryce could only know the half of it. For the past few months, since the end of the last season she had been with the young new captain. With Gabriel she actually felt happy with him. He’s always ask her to leave Bryce for him, but it was against her contract. In her contract is does say and quote: “No sexaul realsons with any of the players on the team.”

“You are all meany pants.”

Eliina said with a laugh and as sat down on her mat. When she looked up she saw that Gabriel was front and centre and she couldn’t help but smile at him. He winked at her, making her face turn a light shade of pink. Eliina shook her head and took a deep breath.

“Already, you boys ready to get your hippie on?”

She asked, earning her a laugh from the men of the room. Eliina laughed again then put her hands together in front of her chested and closed her eyes. Taking a deep breath Eliina instructed the boys to do the same. Eliina had gotten this job at the start of last season, it was a bit of a test run with the team. The job was supposed to last one season, but the success rate was good from her yoga class and the team loved it, so she stayed on another season. As long as no found out about her and the Swedish prince she would have a job with the Avalanche.

“Namaste.”

Eliina said opening her eyes taking a look at her class in front of her.

“Namaste.”

They repeated after her, bringing a smile to her face. Eliina stood up and walked over to the door and turned the lights on. A few groans came from so of the guys from the light hitting their eyes.

“Good job everyone. Now I free you to be manly men and punch each other on the ice.”

She said stretching her arms high above her head as she walked back over to her mat. The hockey players in the room moved around, getting their stuff and starting to leave the room.

“Hey Ellie, you have any plans this weekend?”

Matt asked as he rolled up his mat. Eliina looked up from her feet to see him and she thought for a moment before she answered him.

“Building a blanket fort on my couch watching Netflix. Why? Do you have something better than my plan?”

“Maybe? A friend of mine is out of town and is letting me use her pool. I was thinking a pool party sounded good.”

“What are we in high school?”

“Says the girl who builds blanket forts to watch Netflix.”

“Touche. Sounded fun. I’m guessing you want me to leave the boyfriend at home?”

“It would be prefered.”

Eliina laughed and shook her head at Matt.

“You in Ellie?”

Gabriel asked, making Eliina looked to her right to see him standing very close next to her. Feeling him next her made her smile and her heart beat go up. Eliina giggled and looked from Gabriel to Matt, seeing that they were both awaiting her answer.

“Come on, Ellie!”

Ryan O'Reilly said from the other side of the room. Eliina looked over at him and groaned.

“EW! You’re going?”

She said in the Jimmy Fallon ‘Ew!’ voice, making Matt, Gabe, and Ryan laugh.

“When is it?”

“Tomorrow at three.”

Eliina put her pointer finger on her chin and thought for a few seconds, before answering him.

“I’ll be there. You need me to bring anything? Food? Beer?”
“Just bring you cute little ass and we’ll call it even.”

Gabriel said giving her butt a little slap, making Eliina let out a gasp. She knew that her face must be beet red from his words. Both Matt and Gabe laughed at her and she tuned towards Gabe and slapped his chest.

“You preve.”

She said with a smile then Gabe wrapped his arms around her waist, pulled her into him, and started tickling her sides.

“Gabe, stop it!”

She bagged through her giggle fit, making him smile and not stop.

“Why don’t you two sleep together already.”

Tyson said as he walked by. Hearing his teammate’s words Gabriel stopped and let go of Eliina.

“Shut up.”

He said to Tyson as he watched the defencemen exit to room. Tyson waved and then turned around the corner.

“So, we’ll see you tomorrow?”

Matt asked as he picked up his water bottle. Eliina turned her attention to him and nodded.

“Yeah. I’ll bring some beer.”

“Thanks. See ya later, Ellie.”

Matt said as he walked out of the room. Eliina looked around the room and saw that her and Gabe were the only two left in the room. When the door shut behind Matt, Eliina and Gabe didn’t say anything. Eliina felt something lightly touch her face, making her look over to see that Gabriel was moved a strand of her hair back behind her ear.

“You, my friend, have to cool it around the guys.”

“What do you say that?”

He asked wrapping his arm back around her waist. Eliina felt her face get hot again as she looked up at Gabe.

“Are you going to Matt’s party?”

“Yeah. I have no idea how I’m going to control myself tomorrow.”

“Maybe I’ll just wear sweatpants and a baggy shirt then.”

“You know I love you in sweatpants.”

“Is there anything you don’t want to see me in?”

“Oh, I couldn’t stand seeing you a bikini.”

Gabe said joking, making her giggle yet again.

“Can you at least try to control yourself?”

“Why can’t we let anyone know?”

“I don’t want to lose my job Gabe.”

“What about Matt? He wouldn’t tell anyone.”

“If we tell one person then we might as well tell the whole city. I need this job, Gabe.”

“Could you at least break up with Bryce? I can’t stand it when you go home to him. He doesn’t treat you right, Eille. Please.”

Eliina looked away from Gabe for a moment as she thought about what he had just said. All of it was true. She couldn’t even stand it when she would go home to Bryce when she knew how he was going to be.

“If I do that I’m going to have to look for somewhere else to live. And I can’t move in with you, people would be all suspicious. You have no idea how much I want to, but I just can’t.”

“Eliina…”

“Gabriel.”

She said looking back up at him. He moved quickly and kissed her. Eliina wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down closer to her. Slowly, Gabe’s hands went down the sides of her yoga shorts and grabbed her ass, pulling her up into his arms.

“Gabe…”

“I know.”

He said then continued to kiss her. Eliina couldn’t stop herself either. After watching him after their hour and a half class, she couldn’t wait to have her hands on him.

“We need to stop this.”

“Do you want to?”

“Don’t make me answer that.”

Gabe finally pulled his lips away from her’s and rested his forehead against her’s. He moved a few steps back so that he was resting against the mirror wall. Eliina slowly opened her eyes to see Gabriel looking at her.

“You know I love you, Eliina.”

“I know you do, Gabe. I love you too. It’s just I can’t lose this job.”
“I know. I just want you run away with me one of these days.”

Eliina smiled at him then gave him a quick kiss.

“Don’t worry, that day will come.”

She told him as she slowly pulled away from his lips, making him smile at her and he kissed her again.

“Min lilla skenande.”

“What’s that?”

“My little runaway.”

Gabriel said with a small laugh. Eliina smiled and kissed his nose.

“My Swedish prince.”
