Hurricanes in Pittsburgh?

013:

Chapter Thirteen

"I've been out a week, it's feeling better now," I whined to Jess as she looked at my arm.

"It does look better, you're gunna have a nasty scar though," she said and I shrugged, not really caring.

"I just want to be out on the ice," I said and she nodded her head.

"Well, I'll clear you for practice, we'll see from there," she said and I sighed.

"Flower needs a break, he's played three in a row," I said and Jess nodded her head.

"He's use to it though," she said and I groaned, "Go suit up and we'll see how you are before the guys show up."

"All right," I said and then hopped down from the table and walked out of the room, making my way to the locker room and gathering gear together and then placing it on. I skated onto the ice and I saw Mario talking with Coach.

"There she is!" Mario smiled and I smirked towards them, "How are you feeling?"

"Stiff, I want to get back in the net," I said and Coach smirked.

"We'll see how you do first," he said and I nodded my head and placed my helmet on before heading towards the net.

I had missed the Islanders game, the day after the Toronto game, but I was so happy for the boys and for Marc. We had won against the Islanders with the final score being one to six, then two days later, we won against the Bruins with the final score being two to three, two days after that, the boys were back in Toronto and won with the final score of three to one, I ended up staying in Pittsburgh for that game, there was no point in me going with them. Tonight we had a game against the Rangers, and I was really hoping that I was going to be cleared to go, but somehow, I doubted it. I was really hoping to be able to play against my brother, Marc.

"How do you feel?" Mario asked as he shot a puck at me and I caught it, "I might be old, but I still got more than that in me."

"It was all right, keep going," I said and he nodded his head and then grabbed another puck and shot it towards me. It was a little harder than the last, but I caught it in my mitt and he kept on going.

"How 'bout now?" Mario asked and I placed my helmet on top of my head.

"I'm good," I said and then grabbed the water bottle and squirted some water into my mouth and then on my face. I heard fresh blades touch the ice and look over towards the door to see some of the guys skating on, looks like it was time for practice, "Looks like it's time for the real fun."

Sidney skated over with Geno not far behind, "How do you feel?"

"Ready to kick my brother's ass," I smirked and Sidney chuckled and nodded his head.

"The arm good?" Geno asked and I sighed and looked at it.

"I just need this practice to get ready for tonight," I said and the guys nodded their heads.

"Let's get started," Sidney said and I nodded my head and saw Beau skating over.

"You in the net tonight?" he asked as Sidney and Geno skated away.

"So far I am," I smiled slightly, "It'll be all right."

"Just don't push your arm," he said and I smirked and nodded my head.

"You better get out there," I said and Beau sighed but nodded his head and skated away.

-Beau-

Practice was tough, I didn't like the fact that we were going a little heavy on Jen, the practice was more for her anyways. I was happy to hear that she was cleared and was able to play the game tonight, but by the end of practice, she was pretty sore. Her trainer told her to get some major rest before the game tonight, and I smirked because I knew that I was going to be resting with her.

After we showered and changed, just as we were leaving, fingers laced together, the Rangers were walking into the arena.

"Jenny!" I heard and we both turned around to see her brother Marc walking towards us.

Jen smiled brightly and then let go of my hand and walked over towards Marc. He pulled her into a big bear hug and I saw the his teammates walking over. I leaned against the wall and watched as they talked.

"How's the arm?" Marc asked and I heard Jen sighed.

"It's a little stiff, but it'll be all right, apparently it'll scar," she said and I looked up to see that she had thrown her bag down and was unzipping her hoodie so that she could show him the healing wound. Marc cursed and then held her arm and looked at the wound.

"Where is this fuckin' prick? I wanna kill him," he growled and I saw some of his teammates walking over to look at it.

"Damn," Ryan Callahan, Captain of the Rangers, said as he leaned over Marc, "What happened?"

"German Shepherd," Jen said and then proceeded to tell the whole story.

Some of my teammates walked down the hallway, seeing the Rangers and tried to be nice to them, but I knew that most of them didn't like the Rangers.

After talking for another fifteen minutes, Callahan patted Marc's shoulder, "We'd better head out, got to get our skate in," he said and Marc sighed and nodded his head.

"I'll see you later, Jen," Marc said and Jen nodded her head, "You in the net?"

"You bet your ass I am," she smiled brightly and Marc groaned, "No scoring for you!"

"Yeah, I plan on changing that!" Marc yelled and Jen snorted, "See ya!"

"Bye!" Jen yelled as the Rangers started to walk down the hallway. She turned back towards the guys and I and placed her hands on her hips, "I really wanna kick his ass," she laughed and Geno chuckled and threw his arm over her shoulder.

I walked over towards her and laced my fingers with hers before we walked out of the arena. Geno ruffled Jen's hair before waving bye and leaving towards his truck. Jen and I walked over towards her jeep and I hopped into the passenger seat.

"I'm hungry," she stated and I laughed, "We have to stop at the store for some food before we go home."

"All right," I said and she started her jeep and off we went.

-Jennifer-

I never knew that going food shopping would be so bad, I wanted to be in and out, but apparently I picked the time to go when there were the most hockey fans. Beau and I were getting attacked by people that wanted autographs. The ten minute trip to the market, turned into an hour, and I could see my hand getting cramped up for all the autographs I was giving.

"Next time, don't wear anything Penguins," Beau teased as he carried the bags to the car and I stopped and looked down at myself.

"I'm not!" I said and he laughed and walked back over towards me.

"Yeah you are," he said and I looked at him confused, "Right here," he said and motioned towards my face, "You're famous, Jen, just like Crosby or Geno, anyone really, you're going to be noticed anywhere."

"What about you?" I asked and he gave a sad smirk.

"They see you first, babe," he said and I sighed and then laced my fingers with his and leaned against his arm and kissed his cheek.

When we got back home, we made a turkey sandwich and then looked at the time to see that it was almost one. Beau said we should get our nap in and I agreed.

"We need to walk Candy first," I said and Beau smirked and nodded his head and then went into the kitchen to grab her leash. It was a short walk, just around the block until she did her business.

When we got back to the condo, Beau and I walked towards the bedroom and I stretched and looked at the clock to see that it was almost one thirty, '...Definitely nap time...'

I took my t-shirt off and showed off my sports bra. I heard Beau chuckle and then felt his hands on my sides and his lips on my neck, my back pressed against his bare chest. I giggled and then placed my hands on top of his, still on my sides, "What happened to nap time?"

Beau chuckled against my shin and I tilted my head back and groaned against him as he found the spot under my chin, in front of my ear that made my knees go weak. Beau wrapped his arms around my waist and held me up as I leaned my weight against him.

I turned myself around and wrapped my arms around his neck and he pressed his lips against mine. I felt one hand on the bottom of my back and then other on my neck. I backed up and pulled Beau on top of me as I fell onto the bed.

"We really," he kissed me again, "should get some," he kissed down my neck, "rest."

"We're gunna break the 'no sex before game' rule," I gasped as I melted into him.

"Definitely," he laughed, but I ended up pulling him away, "Or not."

"Not till Monday, we have a game tomorrow too," I sighed and he whined and wrapped his arms around my waist and snuggled his head into my neck, "Get some sleep," I said and then turned in his arms and then climbed under the blankets and set the alarm on my phone.
