Anniversary Celebration
“Happy 6 month anniversary baby,” Kyle said, “I got you a little something."
We spent the whole day together just chilling at home and going out to eat. Now as I was cuddled up in his lap, he hands me an envelope.
“Aww you shouldn’t have, I feel bad I didn’t get you anything now”, I said bashfully.
“Don’t worry about it, this one’s for the both of us.”
I rip open the envelope and slowly pull out two front row tickets to the home opener tonight at the Consol Energy Center. It was the Penguins vs. the Flyers.
“Eeeeeep! You are amazing! I’ve been dying to get a hold of front row tix!” I quickly kiss him on the cheek and ran off screeching to my room to get ready as I hear his laughter fade.
Kyle is a great boyfriend really. He just gets out of hand sometimes. Mostly when he’s drinking… But he hasn’t done that in a while so it’s been good between us for the past month. I've been helping him through it. He knows me well, like how much I love the pens and hockey. He even bought me a Sidney Crosby jersey as a gift for my birthday, which was thoughtful of him.
“You ready yet? The game starts in a few hours and I wanna get there early, there’s still some surprises up my sleeve,” Kyle yells from the living room.
“Yep, lets go,” I say as I start off to the front door.

(30 minutes later)
“Why are we here so early?” I whine as I get out of the car.
“You’ll see, just wait.”
I follow Kyle as he leads me to the side of the arena where all the players usually enter.
“Seriously, what are we doin-“
“Shhhhh look! It’s the pens!” Kyle interrupts me.
I turn around, and sure enough the whole penguins team is making its way to the doors of the arena. One particular player catches my eye, that would be Sidney Crosby of course. He’s always been my favourite player, and I’ve always had a little but of a crush on him, even though I’d never admit it to Kyle.
“Hey Sidney! Would you mind signing my girlfriend's jersey? You’re her favourite player,” Kyle asks.
Sidney ever so slightly smirked at the “you’re her favourite player”, which made me giggle, I hope Kyle didn’t notice, but he began to make his way toward us. I’m trying my best to stay cool, but I’m actually really excited. Kyle hands Sidney a black sharpie and I quickly pull out my Crosby jersey from my bag so he can sign it.
Once he’s done he asks, ” You guys going to the game tonight?”
“Yep, right next to the glass! Can’t wait to see you dominate those pesky Flyers for the first game of the season,” Kyle replies.
I’m still a little star struck and nervous, I can't bring myself to speak.
“Haha well I’ll keep an eye out for you both, enjoy the game!” Sidney says and starts to walk away.
"Well that was cool, wasn't it?" Kyle asked, grinning.
Kyle gestures in the direction of the main entrance and heads off in that direction. Right before I start to follow, I turn around at the last second to catch a glimpse of Sidney again. He quickly winks, smiles, and pushes his way through the doors of the arena. It all happened so fast I wasn’t sure if it was real or if I was just seeing things. I decided to forget about it and pretend it was a fluke, he probably saw some hot girl behind me and I just thought he was looking at me, but as I look around, I find there is no one else who he could have possibly been looking at... but no. There is no way Sidney Crosby would wink at a girl like me.
