Prove It To Me

3-1

Sid finishes his sandwhich, and we get ready to leave for the game. I put on my jersey that he told me to bring, and Sid put on the same outfit he had on before practice (Rebecca's outfit: http://www.polyvore.com/prove_it_to_me/set?id=88677650).
Just as I'm about to open the door, Sid starts rambling nervously, "Here's your ticket for the game. I didn't know whether you'd want to sit in a box or not so I got you a seat behind the bench just in case. It's totally cool if you want to sit in a box though, I can arrange that. I know it's not your first time going to a game, but it is since I've met you so it's different..." he trailed off.
I say grinning, "I'm fine sitting behind the bench, thank you."
Then I lightly give him a kiss on the lips. He smiles and we head off.

Once we arrive at the arena, we go our seperate ways. Sid goes through the back doors, signing a few autographs for some lucky fans on the way, and just before he gets to the doors, he gives me a wink. This time I know for sure it's directed towards me.

While walking to the front doors of the arena I get some death stares, which I assume is because of my jersey. I even hear a couple people whisper behind my back "Crosby's a pussy." It takes everthing in me to not spin around and punch them in the face. Instead I focus on the many Penguins fans in the crowd, who give me the thumbs up and an approving smile. Everywhere the team goes there's always a fare amount of support, must be nice. Once inside the complex, there is already a pretty long line up to get in. I check the time on my phone, half and hour till the doors open, and find a spot in line.
In front of me is another guy in a Pens jersey, he spots me in the corner of his eye and turns around, "hey, nice hat and jersey."
"Thanks," I say.
He looks at me carefully for a moment,"you live here in Boston?"
"No, I'm from Pittsburgh."
"Wow, you flew out here to see a game?"
"You could say that," I say uneasy.
"Did you come with someone or....?"
"Yeah I did," I take out my phone and pretend to look at a text, I don't want to say anything about Sid, the public doesn't know yet.
Sensing the conversation was going no where, he awkwardly turns back around. It makes me wonder who I'll be sitting next to during the game. Normally there's quite a few fans of the visiting team behind the visitors bench. Surprisingly, I find myself hoping to be sitting next to a Bruins fan.

(40 minutes later)

With my Pepsi and fries I go settle into my seat. Next to me, a little boy is wearing a Bruins jersey, and a female around my age is wearing a Pens one... great. Warm ups begin, and Sid takes the ice. The first thing he does is look behind the bench for me. I smile, he smiles, no one seems to notice. Maybe this won't be so bad, I always worry too much. After the national athem, the game begins. Within the first ten minutes Chris had scored. 1-0 Pens. Me and some other fans around me, got up and cheered, banging on the glass. It was weird to go to a game by yourself, with no one to really celebrate with. Five minutes later Sid gets tripped by Horton and it's a powerplay for the Pens. I have to admit, I had always been worried about Sid and his health during games, even before I met him. Now I just about have a heart attack every time someone bumps into him. Every time Sid gets a hold of the puck the crowd boos, but about twenty seconds into the powerplay he gets his stick on the puck again and puts a nice backhander in the top left hand corner of the net. All the Pens fans go wild, and the Bruins fans scowl. By this point I'm jumping up and down, screaming. Sid skates his way back to the bench. After sitting down he turns around and winks at me for the second time today. Then they rest for a commercial break.
"OH MY GOD, DID YOU JUST SEE THAT?! SIDNEY CROSBY TOTALLY JUST WINKED AT ME," the girl sitting next to me starts screaming.
I turn my head to her and muster up the dirtiest look I can possibly give.
"What? You're just jealous," he says to me.
"I don't believe you," her friend says on the other side of her.
The girl turns around and starts arguing with her friend. I, on the other hand, could not believe what just happend. Without realising it, I start pouting. Nealer, who must have heard the whole thing since he was right infront of us, takes a look at me over his shoulder. He starts laughing as soon as he sees my face, and calls over to Sid from the other side of the bench. Through the glass I can't hear what they're saying, but as soon as James is done talking, Sid looks and me and starts laughing. I try to keep a straight angry face, but I can't help but laugh too.

For the rest of the game, the girl next to me continues to brag, I simply ignore her. With an extra goal from Duper, the Pens go on to win it 3-1.

Notes

Not my best chapter, I know, but I wanted to post another one before I got too busy. Don't expect another new one for a week or so.

@Jordyn4 haha ok I'll try to make the chapters longer. But I can't promise that I'll be able to keep up the chapters as often as I am now for much longer. I don't have a lot of school work at present, that can change though.
