Prove It To Me

This Is Crazy

I’m in the washroom curling my hair, it’s 7am the next morning and I’m getting ready to go to work for the first time since… the incident, when all of a sudden I hear the doorbell ring. Confused, I put down the curling iron and go open the door. I am surprised to find that it’s Sid.

“S-Sid?! What the heck are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be in Boston or something?” I ask, exasperated.
“Yes I am,” he states matter-of-factly.
One second he’s on my front step, the next he’s barging into my house. It seems as though he’s looking for something.
“Where do you keep your luggage?” he asks from down the hall.
“In my bedroom closet, but I really don’t see why that’s relevant. You didn’t even answer all my questions,” I yell.
I hear his footsteps through the house trying to find my room, then him rummaging through my closet. When I get to my room he’d already pulled out my luggage onto my bed.
“Pack clothes for a two day trip,” he says pointing to the suit case.
“Can you just please tell me what’s going on?”
“I’m proving that I care about you,” he answers with soft eyes, “You’re gonna see what it’s like on the road with me. You’ll get to know the other guys and you’ll see that you can trust me. If you want this relationship to work, then you need to get used to all the hubbub and the traveling.”
“You’re taking me to Boston for the game tomorrow?” I ask in disbelief. “That’s sweet and all, but I have to go to work. I haven’t gone for like five days!”
“Call in sick again.”
“It’s not that simple Sid. I can’t do that forever. What if they fire me?”
“I got connections. I can get you a new job no problem. Maybe even with the Penguins.”
“This is crazy.”
“No, this is me proving myself worthy of your love," Sid says in a dramatic cheesy way.
My eyes soften and I laugh, defeated, I reach for my cell and dial work. I explain that I won’t be able to work for another couple days, doctors orders, they fall for it.
“We really gotta hurry, the plane is set to take off in an hour,” Sid says anxiously.
“That’s not enough time! We’ll never make it!” I gasp.
“Oh don’t worry, it won’t leave without us. That’s just when it’s set to leave.”
“What do you mean?”
“I took the private jet of course. The captain is never too pleased when I’m late, but he won’t leave.”
“A private jet?!”
“Yes yes, now stop your gawking and start packing!”
Still amazed at the fact I’ll be riding in a private jet, I start scrambling to find stuff to wear.
“Should I pack casual or formal?” I ask.
“Ummm two casual outfits and one nice dress or something. Oh and bring your jersey!” Sid yells from the washroom
He comes walking in with my toothbrush and toothpaste just as I’m done folding all my clothes into the case.
“We ready to fly?” Sid asks.
“Ready,” I reply, snatching my toothbrush and toothpaste from his hands.

(Half an hour later)

Because I live close to the airport it only took about 30 minutes to drive to the airport and go through security. We were still running late though. So as soon as we grabbed our stuff we had to speed walk, I still can’t run with my concussion. As I was walking I began to reflect on the situation. Here I am, lying to my work so I can speed walk through an airport with Sidney Crosby. Then I noticed Sid was wearing his yellow Crocs, that’s what set it off. It started off as a small giggle. Then it grew into full blown hysterical laughter. Sid stopped walking for a second to turn around and make sure I was ok. I was basically on the floor crying I was laughing so hard. Sidney looked confused, but soon he too was laughing. People were starting to stare, but I didn’t care. Eventually Sid had to basically drag me through the airport to the jet because I couldn’t stop laughing. By the time we were outside I had calmed down enough to speak.
“What was so funny?” Sid asked.
“I don’t know,” and I truly didn’t, but I did know that I was happy he came for me, “Everything.”
Sid smiled. We walked hand in hand onto the plane. I’d never been to Boston before, but I’m sure I’m going to love it.

@Jordyn4 haha ok I'll try to make the chapters longer. But I can't promise that I'll be able to keep up the chapters as often as I am now for much longer. I don't have a lot of school work at present, that can change though.
