I woke the next morning to my radio blaring some kind of music, I wasn't sure what it was but it was music I normally didn't listen to. I stretched and reached over to the nightstand and grabbed my cell phone and smiled to myself. There were two new text messages on my phone, one of them being from Ryan and one from a number I didn't recognize. I opened the one from Ryan first.

**NEW MESSAGE** From: Ryan** 7 am**

Hey babe don't forget I come up there today. I should be there around 1, so if you can come and pick me up. I can't wait to get up there and see you and Ava again. I've missed you both so much!!!!

My lips stretched even wider at his message. I couldn't help it, I didn't realize how much I missed him until than. I hit the reply button and sent a short and to the point message.

**NEW MESSAGE** To: Ryan** 7:40 am**

I will be there to get you. I can't wait to see you either. We miss you bunches. Love you!!!!

I hit send and than moved onto the next text message. My eyebrows scrunched trying to figure out who the other message was from.

**NEW MESSAGE** Unknown** 7:15 am**

Got an appointment set up for today at the hospital for this morning at 9:30. Don't forget to bring Avalon with you. She'll need to be there also. See you there!!!!!

Not knowing who the message was from I decided to hit reply and let whoever it was at least know they had the wrong phone number.

**NEW MESSAGE** Unknown** 7:42 am**

I'm sorry who is this. I think you may have the wrong phone number.

After hitting send, I put my phone back on my nightstand and got out of bed. I walked into my bathroom and handled my business. Than started brushing my teeth. As I was brushing my teeth I heard my phone buzzing from the room. I walked out of the bathroom with my toothbrush hanging from my mouth and went and picked up my phone. Hitting the open button on the new message.

**NEW MESSAGE** Unknown** 7:45 am**

Ummmm it's Zach

I scrunched my eyebrows again and racked my brain trying to remember if I had given my number to him at any point yesterday while we were talking. I couldn't recall at anytime give him my number.

**NEW MESSAGE** To: Zach** 7:47 am**

Uh ok.......

I hit send and started back towards the bathroom when my phone buzzed in my hand again. I clicked on the open button.

**NEW MESSAGE** From: Zach** 7:48 am**

I hope the time that I scheduled the appointment was alright

I was about to hit reply when my phone buzzed again, though this time it wasn't from a text, it was ringing. I hit the answer button and brang the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" I answered, although it sound grabbled with my toothbrush in my mouth.

"Uh hey Maddison.... It's uhhhhhh me..... Me Zach," he replied, nervously.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him even though he couldn't see me.

"Hi," I said slowly, unsure as to why he was calling now.

"Yeah hi," he replied.

"So how did you get my number?" I asked, trying to move on from saying "hello" again, and spitting the toothpaste out of my mouth.

"Oh yeah, right about that. I hope you don't mind but I had call Travis and Ally early this morning to get it," he chuckled lightly.

"I'm sure Ally loved that," I laughed, rolling my eyes again.

Ally was not a morning perso and hated when anyone disrupted her sleep. She kinda turned into a mama fire breathing dragon if you weren't carefull.

"Oh yeah," he sighed, "Well I mean I had to explain to her why I was calling at seven in the morning and ask for your number. Or actually more like beg for it. But I realized after I got home yesterday and started calling around for appointments I didn't have your number. But I wanted to get this appointment set up as fast as I could. So I hope today and the time work for you," he rambled quickly.

"Uhhhhh I guess it works. I mean Avalon was supposed to start school today. But I guess I can tell them something," I replied, running a hand through my bedhead and looked at my reflection.

"If they have a problem with it tell them to call me and I'll take care of it," he said.

"You don't have do that Zach," I replied.

"Sorry am I over stepping my boundaries?" he asked.

"Sort of," I sighed, "Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah sure," he responded.

"Why do care so much all of the sudden?" I asked, turning around and leaning back against the sink counter, crossing my arms over my chest.

"I just do," he sighed.

"But why?" I pressed.

"I just do ok?" he said frustrated, I could imagine him running a hand through his hair. "I just do. It's hard to explain. I just have this feeling."

"Okay," I replied.

"So do you know where University hospital is?" he asked.

"Ummmm no not really. But I'll find it I'm sure it won't be that hard to find," I replied, now brushing out my bedhead.

"Do you want me to pick you all up?" he asked.

"Uh no that's ok. We'll just meet you there," I replied.

"Oh well ok than," he replied, sounding disappointed.

"Well I better get off and get ready Zach and get Avalon ready. If we're going to meet you on time," I said.

"Ok well I guess see you than," he said.

"Ok bye Zach," I said.

"Bye Maddi...... Hey?" he said quickly, trying to catch me before I hung up.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Ummmmm nothing, it's not important. I'll just see you guys later," he sighed and hung up.

I pulled the phone away from my ear and looked at it strangely for a second. That boy had issues sometimes. I threw my hair up in a ponytail and added some light makeup. Than went into my room and quickly got dressed, after picking out my clothes. I made my way to Avalon's room and pushed opened her door and had to hold in my laughter.

She was up and standing next to her bed. She had decided to dress herself in her school uniform, but her shirt was unevenly buttoned. Half of the shirt tucked into the skirt the other half out, the back of her skirt was tucked up in her tights and twisted awkwardly around her waist. I could tell she was getting frustrated.

"Need some help baby girl?" I asked her.

"Yes momma. I can't get it, it's so hard," she huffed, turning around and looking at me.

"Well you almost got it," I chuckled, walking towards her.

"Don't laugh at me momma," she pouted, sticking out her buttom lip and giving me her big brown puppy eyes.

"I'm sorry baby, I didn't mean to laugh. You did very well by yourself," I said, buttoning her shirt and started buttoning it again.

"Really?" she beamed.

"Yup," I said, with a nod.

"Hey guess who gets here this afternoon," I said, fixing her skirt and tucking her shirt in.

"Who?" she asked.

"Ryan," I answered.

"Oh," she replied, looking down at the ground.

I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion at her reaction. I thought she would be happy that he would finally be joining us. With how sad she had been at the thought of being without him for a few days.

"I thought you would be happy about that. I mean you missed him and he missed us," I said.

"I am," she answered, still looking at the ground and kicking at it.

"Ava," I said.

"I'm hungry momma," she said, turning and walked out of her room.

"Ava," I called , after her.

When we got down to the kitchen breakfast was quiet for a change as she ate the bowl of cereal I gave to her. I dropped trying to find out what was wrong, I knew if I pushed it she would just shut down. We left and drove to the hospital after punching in the address into my GPS. When we pulled up and got out Ava was still being unusually quiet. That was until she looked up and saw Zach walking towards us.

"Mr. Zach," Ava said excitedly, taking off towards him.

"Ava....... Avalon you can't just take off like that," I snapped lightly, once I reached the pair.

"Don't worry Maddi shes fine," Zach said, smiling looking at the girl in his arms.

"Don't tell me not to worry Zachary. She's my daughter and she could have gotten hurt," I snapped at him.

"Sorry," he replied, holding up his free hand in surrender.

The whole appointment was kind of tense. Avalon gave me attitude the whole time and than turned and was laughing and smiling with Zach. I was still irritated with Zach from the incident outside. But luckily for me the appointment didn't take too long after the nurses asked all the questions she needed to. Than took the swabs from all three of us.

Afterwards Zach tried asking us to take us to lunch, butbI turned him down wanting to get Ava to school and pick up Ryan.

I stood inside of Newark Liberty International Airport for the second time in a week, but this time I was waiting for Ryan. After dropping Avalon off at school, I made my way here. Luckily the school didn't ask to many questions as to why Ava was late on her first day. I grab some food from one of the cafes in the airport and went to the gate that Ryan was supposed to arrive at.

I looked at the clock on the wall agian for the tenth time at least and saw I had to wait about ten more minutes until his plane arrived. Time seemed to be moving so slowly, until I finally saw his plane taxining up. Finally after another ten minute wait people started coming out of the ramp.

Ryan wasn't hard to miss in the throng of people coming off of the plane with his height. He had his favorite tan hat, that Ava and I had given to him for Christmas one year pulled low on his head. I could tell he had his earplugs to his iPod in his ears and was looking at the ground. I stood up from the chair that had been occupying my backside for the past thirty minutes and started speed walking towards him.

He looked up and held out his arms just in time for me to leap into his arms. Huge smiles on both of our faces, as I wrapped my arms around his neck and legs around his waist, than buried my face in the crook of his neck.

"Well this is a nice welcome. God I missed you baby," Ryan said quietly, inhaling deeply and rubbing his hands up and down my back.

"I missed you too," I murmered, pulling back and looking at him with a smile.

"Are you going to show me how much you missed me?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Here?" I asked, in mock horror.

"Yeah here," he nodded.

"Ok you prev. I'll give you a little preview," I said, crashing my lips to his. Running my tongue along his bottom lip and biting down on it.

Causing him to groan and lightly grind his hips into mine. I pulled back and smirked at him. Than lowered my feet back to the ground and grabbed his hand. Pulling him towards where we would grab his luggage.

"That wasn't very nice," he pouted, trying to inconspicuously adjust himself.

"Well you shouldn't have tried starting something in the airport. When you knew you wouldn't be able to finish," I laughed.

"Oh little girl I could finish if I wanted to," he smirked back.

I could only shake my head and blush slightly at his comment. Knowing he was telling the truth, if he had the chance he would have pulled me over to a darkend corner to finish what he started. I couldn't wait to get home with him.
