September was so close. Too close. School would start on the second and then everything would go back to the same boring routine. School, hockey, sleep, repeat. There was some eating and partying in there too, but for the most part, just school, hockey, and sleep.

Audrey was laying on the couch, waiting for the girls to make their ways over. They had been apart all summer. Mostly Audrey's fault since she was in New York for a week and a half, and then Los Angeles until last night. Her skin was golden, now that she lost her burn. She always burned.

The doorbell rang and she shot up. She ran to the door, pulling it open with a giant grin. All the girls matched her expression as they filed in. Danielle furrowed her brows at Audrey. Audrey tilted her head.

"Why do you look like an Under Armour ad?" Dani laughed.

"I got dressed with intentions of going to the gym with Sam this morning and then I realized I didn't want to." Audrey shrugged. "Where's Hol?"

"With Andre." Taylor sang, as she dropped onto the couch. "Do you have any food?"

Audrey nodded before the doorbell rang again. She opened it to Holiday, who had a innocent smile on her face. Audrey stepped out of her way and rolled her eyes.

"Did you have a good holiday?" Audrey smirked.

Holiday looked back and rolled her eyes. "Shut up, Audrey."

"You look like a lightskin." Candice said as she looked at Audrey over her phone.

Audrey shook her finger as she closed her door. "No, no cellphones." She instructed as she plucked Candice's out of her hand. "We are having a girls' night. Just us together."

All the girls whined as they handed over their phones. Audrey pulled hers from her waistband and placed them in a bucket. She put a lid over it and slid it under the table. She smiled to them.

"But since you ditched Sam this morning, aren't you gonna wanna talk to him?" Kaylynn sat up. "You haven't seen him all summer."

Audrey's lips curled into a smile and she dropped on the couch between Taylor and Dani. "Actually, my dad flew him out and let him stay with us for the last two weeks." She bit her lip as she confessed. "He really likes Sam."

"Wow, your dad actually likes a guy you like?" Candice gasped. Audrey laughed. "I'm glad you're happy with little Sammy. We all are."

"What about you and Aaron? Two, three years now?" Audrey kicked her lightly.

Candice held up three fingers and flipped her hair. "We're really good. We don't fight, like ever, maybe that's not good? I don't know. I just don't know what I'd do without that gay bitch." She explained, her cheeks flushing.

"Oh my god, can we stop with the guys? I'm hungry." Taylor pouted, crossing her arms.

"Something wrong in paradise, Tay?" Audrey nudged her.

"God, don't even get into it with her." Holiday huffed. "Love octagon going on."

"Okay, no. I'm just talking to Jack,"

"And Morgan." Holiday cut her off.

"Who do you like more?" Kaylynn asked, sitting up.

"I don't know! Jack's a fucking idiot but I've been with him longer, but Morgan's so sweet." Taylor growled, rubbing her face.

"Just go for who makes you happier." Holiday smiled.

"And who has a bigger dick!" Danielle added, earning herself a smack.

They fell silent after some laughter. Kaylynn had a lot on her mind. She had yet to let Mack know but her and Sam Bennett had been hanging out a lot. Mack would probably flip. He'd just been busy working, and the girls had been busy too, she just needed a friend. She could honestly say she didn't think of Sam as more than that. A friend.

"You guys promise not to freak if I tell you something?" Kaylynn said, standing up

"You're pregnant!"

"Mack gave you something! An STD!"

"No, shut up." She rolled her eyes. "I've been hanging out with Sam," Audrey pointed at herself. "Bennett," Kaylynn shook her head. "A lot."

"And?" Taylor leaned forward, crossing her hands under her chin.

"And nothing! We're just friends, but Mack doesn't know." Kaylynn licked her lips.

"Kay," They all sighed.

"Listen, you all know Mack. He's, he's protective. He doesn't even like when I come to games because other guys check me out." She frowned.

"Just don't risk your relationship to hang out with Sam, okay?" Audrey warned her. She nodded.

"If anyone was wondering, Andre and I are wonderful." Holiday hummed, crossing her legs. "He just bought me this." She said as she held out her arm.

Around her wrist was a rose gold bracelet with a small heart charm on it. All of her friends gasped and gawked over it. Holiday just sat with a smile. She knew she was causing problems for the other boys.

"Is it Tiffany?" Kaylynn asked, looking at the charm.

"Yeah, I cried when I opened it." Holiday blushed at her confession.

"I've been with Aaron since high school started and you think I'd have some jewelry to show for it." Candice clicked her tongue.

"It's because Andre's Swedish and they're swede." Audrey grinned at her pun.

"You're not gonna survive tonight if you keep going with those." Holiday threatened.

"Michael would never buy me that. He's all about sentimental moments and all that weak shit." Danielle blabbed as she played with her hair.

"How are you and Mr. Dal Colle?" Holiday teased.

Dani rolled her eyes. "We're fine. We're boring. We just listen to music together and get food." She shrugged.

"Does he touch your butt?" Audrey asked and Dani nodded. "Your perfect boy has been found."

"I think your perfect boy was Nathan." Candice said to Audrey.

The other girls laughed but Audrey widened her eyes. "Nathan came to see me." She blurted.

"What?" Candice spat.

"When?" Danielle added.

"Why?" Holiday gasped.

"Where?" Kaylynn sat up.

"What did you say?" Taylor grinned, drinking her water bottle.

"Nathan came here to see me the day before I left because he needed closure or some shit." Audrey explained. "He said he just needed to see me and then he apologized for everything he did."

"That's not all that happened, is it?" Danielle inquired.

"He asked to be friends." Audrey mentioned.

"And what'd you say?"

"I said sure." She shrugged.

"And what did Sam say?" Dani crossed her arms, knowing Audrey all too well.

"Sam didn't say anything." Audrey sang, standing up. "Sam doesn't know." She grinned as she walked into the kitchen.

"Kaylynn and Audrey are both gonna be single soon." Taylor sighed, shaking her head.
