"But it doesn't mean that it's okay to just sock Thatch. Like I get he's an asshole, but he's been my friend for years." Audrey rambled on.

She was at Jake's house with the girls and the entire team, minus Sam. Sam hadn't come home from his brothers' yet. She was ranting on to Samuel and Zach. They were both staring at her intently. She took a deep breath.

"I know Sam means well but he needs to understand that I'm by gonna crumble every time someone brings up my past." She rolled her eyes. "And on top of that, what is up with him not calling me? I asked him to when he got to his brothers' and Griffin was the one who called me. I get being upset still, but I'm not the one that he punched. I'm not upset with him. He's just ridiculous."

Jack Eichel leaned forward. "You know they aren't comprehending anything but you're saying?" He smirked.

"Look at them! They're right into it." She defended, pointing at them.

"Don't you guys agree Sam is being totally ridiculous?" Jack mocked her voice at them.

Samuel and Zach looked at each other. Samuel pointed at himself and Jack shook his head at him. The French boys shrugged. They really hadn't understood anything. Audrey glared as they both stood and walked away. Jack scooched closer to her. She had a glare on her face with a small smile. He smiled and took a deep breath.

"Here's how I see it: Sam cares more than you think." He stated.

"Oh, yeah?" She challenged.

"He punched a guy because he kept bringing up your personal shit. It might not bother you, but you're his world so he's obviously gonna defend you regardless. He knows what he did wasn't right, and he's embarrassed, that's why he's keeping his distance from you." He explained, his eyes looking past her. "He also just walked in so go talk to him. Tell him you appreciate what he's done and that you still love him or some shit."

She turned slowly. Sam was standing at the door. He had his hands in his pockets. His eyes met Audrey's. She gave him a small smile. He smiled back. She stood, thanking Jack. She brushed past everyone to get to him. He took her into his arms. He had his arms wrapped around his waist. She was holding his face, kissing him. He smiled into it, pulling away to press his forehead to hers.

"I missed you." She sighed, rubbing his cheek.

"It was one day." He laughed.

"I know." She grinned, kissing him again. "But I need to talk to you about something, it isn't bad."

He nodded. She took his hand, guiding him to the stairs. She walked up them. Sam held onto her hand the entire time. Everyone cheered at them as they walked up them. Sam laughed while Audrey flipped them off. They came to the first door. It said 'Jake' across it in some sick flaming letters. They opened the door to shrieks.

Dana was laying on her back with Zach hovering over her. Both had their shirts off, but pants were still in tack and Dana still had a bra on. Audrey pushed Sam out, pulling the door closed. The couple laughed together and moved on to the next door. It was definitely his older brother's room. Audrey sat on the bed while Sam closed and locked the door. He walked over and kissed her. She stopped him.

"I really meant talk." She shook her head at him with a grin.

"I know you did." He smiled, kissing her jaw. "But I haven't seen you in a day or been able to touch you like this in a week." He continued down her neck.

"I need to talk to you about Thatcher." She said.

Sam stopped. "Another guy always throws the mood elsewhere." He teased, sitting beside her.

She smacked his chest, leaning into him. "I just want you to know that I will always love you, no matter what's happened in my past. I know that you get kinda worked up because the guys from my past keep popping up, but they aren't important to me anymore, you are. I don't need you to break any noses for me." She joked, placing her hands on his thigh.

His arm wrapped around her shoulders. She wrapped her arms around his torso. "I have no doubt in the world that you only have eyes for me." He began, wrapping his other arm around her and placing his head on top of hers. "But hearing people say shit about you just sets me off. I don't even think before I react because you don't deserve that. You deserve the world."

She smiled up at him. "I love you so much." She breathed, pecking his lips.

"Please never stop." He said against her lips before he kissed her again.

As they walked out of the room, Dana was walking out of Jake's room. She grabbed Audrey's hand. Audrey gave Sam a look and he kept going on his way downstairs. Dana pulled Audrey away from the room she was just in with Zach. Audrey had a filthy grin on her face. Dana glared.

"Please don't say a thing." She begged.

"About what?" Audrey played dumb.

Dana exhaled. "Thank you. It's new and I'm scared of it and I don't think it's even serious.

"It's safe for now. But you better tell all the girls before Zach tells his boys. Zach has a big mouth." Audrey warned before walking downstairs.

Audrey saw Sam was off with some of his friends. She noticed Michael was with him so she figured she'd find Dani off somewhere. She was right. She walked over to her best friend and let out a yawn. Danielle nodded.

"I feel that. I only came because Michael asked me to." She explained.

"I only came because I was going crazy at home without Sam around." Audrey laughed.

They started talking. They'd been kinda distant lately. Dani understood. Both had their own relationships and Audrey had to constantly sneak in time with hers. Thankfully, the cameras were gone on Monday and everything would be back to normal. They stopped talking when the door flew open. Dani felt her stomach flip.

"Heard there was a party and my team was there?" He sang from the doorway.

Nathan, Jo, Zach, Curtis, Aaron, Josh, and Sam raced over to him. Danielle was frozen. Audrey was watching the commotion before she looked over to her friend. She could tell something was wrong. She frowned, stepping in front of Dani. Their eyes met and Audrey could tell there was something about that guy. She sat down her drink and placed her hands on either of Dani's arms.

"Talk to me, Dan." Audrey frowned.

"That's my ex, Nic. He was my first like everything." Dani spoke, sitting down slowly. "Why is he here? I haven't talked to Michael about him yet. Fuck."

Danielle placed her head in her hands. Audrey rubbed Danielle's back. She didn't know how to help. She chewed on her lip while looking around. Someone had to know how to help Dani better than she was. Audrey let out a deep breath. She jumped when she felt a hand on the small of her back. She spun around to see her boyfriend. With Nic. Audrey felt her throat becoming dry. She tried to stand in front of Dani to hide her.

"Babe, this is my good friend, Nic." Sam introduced.

"Pleasure to meet you, Audrey." Nic smiled, shaking her hand.

"You too." She smiled.

"Audrey's like best friends with Danielle, eh." Sam explained.

Audrey tried to give her boyfriend a look. He just gave it back, not picking up on it. Audrey sighed. Dani shoved her out of the way a bit. She stood with a smile. She threw her arms out and jumped on Nic. He lifted her from the ground in a hug. They spun. That's when Michael saw the exchange. He stomped over. Nic was setting her down as Michael approached.

"Hey, babe." He annunciated, as he looked at her.

She smiled, wrapping an arm around his waist. "Nic, this is my boyfriend, Michael." She introduced them.

"Ah, Current Boyfriend, I'm Ex Boyfriend." Nic laughed, extended his hand to Michael.

Michael shook it with a scowl. Danielle noticed. She pinched his side. He looked down at her and she widened her eyes up at him. Audrey pulled Sam away to yell at him for not noticing her look. Danielle talked with Nic. Michael just kept his arm around her and stayed silent the entire time.

"Uh, guys?" Audrey called, standing on a table to get height. Sam held onto her. "I think Mack's back on the team."

"What?" Sam Bennett groaned, earning a whack from Kaylynn.

"My dad texted me and said he went to check something at the rink and Mack was working. He talked him into doing a lap year so he could play for the team again." Audrey explained, reading from her phone.

Kaylynn furrowed her brows. "So he could do a fucking lap year for hockey but not me?" She spat.

Sam wrapped his arms around her. She growled into his chest. He just rocked her back and forth. He hated that she still got worked up over Mack. He hated Mack for hurting her. She hugged Sam back, frowning into his chest. She knew being with Sam wasn't where she should've been. But she was and she didn't know what else to do from there

"It's not a party if a bunch of fucked up shit doesn't happen, right?" Kylee laughed.

But she was right. She was so right. Everything that was happening was fucked up. And it wasn't just going to last the length of the party.
