The rest of the season went by quickly. They won district champs again. Then city and provincial. Now they were sitting at nationals. It was in Ottawa. The girls made the trip, the families made the trip. There was an entire Fairview community. It was nice. Some fans even made the trip. They made it to the final. It was against some school from the east coast. They were tough. But so was Fairview.

The game was long and there was barely ever a team leading. It had been a tie game all the way through. Overtime didn't solve anything. Neither did double. The team was waiting for triple to start. The boys were feeling it. It was clear for both teams. Sloppy plays, shitty attempts on net, dumb penalties. Fatigue was taking over.

Until there was a chance. Nathan had deked out a defender. He was fast, but not as fast as his linemate. He whistled and Jo burst down the ice. Nathan sent a blind pass to Jo. Jo wasn't even facing Nathan and the puck ended up on his tape. He faked a slapshot, and just tapped the puck. It slid under the goalie's pads and into the net.

The arena erupted. The bench cleared in two seconds and piled onto Jo. The stands cleared and all the families and fans were on the ice as well. Everyone was hugging each other. Couples were kissing, teammates were kissing. Everyone was just ecstatic. There was just hugging everywhere.

The fans were escorted from the ice and then teams were given their prizes. The other team got their silver medals first. Fairview got gold medals as well as a trophy. Sam lifted if and skated towards the team, cheering. Everyone piled around him. The team took a night off, then drove home the next day.

The night after that, Aaron was throwing a celebration party. Candice and Kaylynn had helped him and Mack setup. Candice texted the girls to come early, and bring along their boyfriends to pre-drink.

Audrey and Sam were the last to show up. She knocked and waited. Sam had been so happy since the win. He wrapped his arms around her waist as they waited for Aaron. He pulled open the door, grinning. He let them in while talking Sam's ear off. Audrey said hello to everyone and got settled. Until she heard the music playing. She spun around to Aaron.

"What song is this?" She furrowed her brows.

"'Aaron's Party' by Aaron Carter." He smiled.

She shook her head. Two minutes later, there was a knock. Candice ran over to answer. She opened the door and a roar was heard as the rest of the guys walked in. The girls all rolled their eyes at the way the boys acted.

"National fucking champs!" Nathan screamed, carrying in the trophy they won.

And then everyone started drinking from it.
