Save Me
Surprise.
***Keeley’s point of view***
Matt told Vero and me to head inside while he got the bags. When we opened the door I noticed the house was eerily quiet, especially since it was full of hockey players when we left.
“Where’d everyone go?” I asked Vero slowly climbing the stairs to the second floor.
“They were supposed to be here.” V said not making eye contact. She never was the best liar. “Go on up to Sid’s room and Matt and I will bring you all of your bags.” I nodded and found the door to Sidney’s room. I walked in and noticed a few bags laying on his bed along with a note.
“Keels, there is a special surprise in the bags for you. Put them on and be ready by six. Love, Jamie.” Like the boys haven’t done enough for me already, I thought to myself. Sitting down on the bed, I pulled my phone out and dialed Jonny’s number. It had been awhile since I had talked to him and I was pretty sure Sidney had filled at least him in on the whole Justin situation. The phone rang before it went to voicemail, with a sigh I hung up. It was three now, so I only had a few hours to get ready. I grabbed the first bag and pulled out the most beautiful black dress I had ever seen. It had black lace sleeves and wasn’t too long, it stopped just before my knees. At the bottom of the dress bag was another smaller bag with two blue boxes inside. The first box contained a stunning diamond necklace and the second box had a pair of beautiful tiffany blue earrings. Jamie had definitely spoiled me, and I didn’t deserve any of it. I reached over and grabbed the last bag that was on the bed. I grabbed the box from inside and opened it up. My breath hitched in my throat as I saw what was inside. This was way too much. There in front of me was a pair of sparkly Louboutins. The same pair that you had been drooling over for months. I heard a knock at the door, causing me to look up at the door.
“Do you like everything?” Vero asked leaning in the doorway. I smiled and nodded my head, unable to speak. “Good! Jamie picked everything out himself. Well he said that you had been wanting the shoes for a while now, but he did everything else. Now we have to get you ready!” She grabbed my hands and pulled me off the bed lightly. “Sit.” She ordered pointing to a chair that I hadn’t noticed before. I watched in the mirror as she went to work on my hair and makeup. I couldn’t help but glance at my phone every few minutes, hoping that Jonny or Geno would call or send a text. The day didn’t feel quite as right without them. Vero set the straightener down and told me she was all finished. She had straightened my hair and given me a nice natural look for my makeup.
“Thank you, V! I love it.” I hugged her and she gently nudged me towards the outfit on Sidney’s bed. “I’m going to leave you to get ready, I’ll be downstairs if you need anything.” I smiled hugging Vero again and watched her walk out the door.
***Sidney’s point of view***
I pulled up into the drive noticing that Matt and the girls were back already.
“Matt! Vero! Where are you guys?” I whisper yelled, not wanting to alert Keeley that I was back home. Vero met me in my living room.
“She’s upstairs getting dressed. We’re still meeting everyone at the club right?” She asked putting her coat on. I nodded my head yes. A few of the boys and I had decided to do something extra special for her birthday this year. I was going to take her out for a nice dinner and then we were going to meet everyone at Diesel, the club was rented out for the night, just for us. I also had another little surprise up my sleeve.
“Vero! How do I look?” I heard Keeley call from the top of the stairs. I could hear her heels clack and clank against the stairs as she made her way down.“Oh! Sidney!” She called taking off in almost a dead sprint. “Thank you for everything! You look nice by the way. Have a hot date?” She questioned pinching my cheek lightly.
“You look amazing. Neal really did well, maybe you can take him shopping more often.” I said with a wink. She laughed and smacked my shoulder lightly. “Are you ready to go?” I asked linking my arm with hers.
“Be back by ten!” Matt called from the hall. We both laughed as I closed the door behind us. I led Keeley to the passenger side and opened the door helping her inside before I went to the other side.
“So do I get to know where we’re going?” She asked with her usual smile. I had come to miss her real smile in the last few months.
“Nope. It’s a secret. You’ll just have to wait and see.” I smiled turning on to the highway.
***Keeley’s point of view***
“Dinner was amazing! Thank you Sid.” I said attaching myself to his hip once again. He had made reservations at this very exclusive and highly expensive restaurant. Everything on the menu had to be over thirty dollars.
“Don’t even think about ordering the cheapest item.” Sid said. I laughed as I recalled his words. Sidney knew me too well, that was for sure. Sidney helped me into the passenger side and then started the car. I turned the music on low as he stopped at the stop sign, if he took a left here then we would be home in fifteen minutes. Instead he went straight.
“Where are we going?” I asked turning my body so I was facing him.I saw a sly smile appear on his face causing me to groan. This can’t be good. After about ten minutes we pulled up to the familiar club. I had been here so many times with the boys, I could navigate my way through the place with my eyes closed. Sidney helped me out of his Range Rover.
“Blindfold time!” He called placing it over my eyes. “Don’t worry, I’ll be right here next to you until you take it off. I heard a door open as Sidney drug me inside. “Okay, are you ready?” Sidney asked his breath hitting the back of my neck causing me to shiver. I nodded my head yes as he undid the blindfold. I was shocked at the scene in front of me. My hands automatically going to my mouth. What looked like the entire Penguins team was in front of me.
“There’s one more surprise.” Sid said. I gave him a confused look. He had already gone above and beyond, hell the entire team had. Sid turned me around and I gasped at the group standing in front of me.
“This is why you didn’t answer your phone!” I said launching myself into the tall man’s arms. I heard him chuckle.
“Yeah, Keels. Do you forgive me?” He asked giving me puppy dog eyes. I nodded wiping the tears from my eyes. “Hey, no crying baby girl! This is your night. I won’t be the one to ruin it.” He said wiping the tears from my eyes.
“They’re happy tears. I promise.” I laughed hugging everyone. I can’t believe that Sidney got Patty, Sharpie, Jonny, Carbomb, Bickell, Shawzie, Smith, Verbeauty, Keith, Seabs, and Crow all the way out here without me knowing. I was really impressed that none of them had slipped up and told me they were coming. “I’m so glad that you guys could be here! I’ve missed you all.” I laughed giving them hugs again.
“Did you break up with him yet?” Pat whispered in my ear. I nodded and I could have sworn there were fireworks going off in his eyes. “She did it!” He yelled, causing most of the bar to give him a confused look.
“Thank you for that wonderful announcement.” I growled. “Now let’s go have some fun.” I said dragging Pat and Jonny onto the dance floor. Jonny stood behind me while Kane was in front facing me, after a few songs we agreed to take a break.
“What can I get for you?” The bartender asked with a creepy smile.
“I’ll take two vodkas on the rocks please.” I said searching the bar for Geno. So far I wasn’t having any luck finding him. I downed one of the drinks leaving the glass on the table. I found Sid talking with Borts and Nealer.
“Hey boys! Thank you for everything! I don’t know what I’d do without you.” I said kissing their cheeks. “Have any of y’all seen Geno?” The group seemed like they wanted to say something but they were afraid to do so. It was then that I realized Geno wasn’t going to be here and it killed me.
Notes
