Save Me

I woke up to the sound of my ringtone echoing through the hotel room. I groaned and looked at the clock on the nightstand next to me, it was just a little bit after one in the morning. Who in the hell could be calling me at this hour? I picked it up and placed it up to my ear, not even bothering to look at the caller ID.
“Hello?” I said sleepily into the phone.
“Sidney, the security system is going off and I’m scared.” I heard Keeley whisper into the phone. I could tell she was scared. I quickly sat up and turned the light on, waking Cooke up in the process.
“What’s going on man? It’s one am!” He exclaimed putting the pillow over his face.
“Somethings going on back at the house. The alarm is going off and Keeley is alone.” I said. Cooke quickly jumped out of bed. “Get your laptop and set up Skype.” I told Matt.
“I let Geno use it. I’ll get it.” He said quickly exiting the room.
“Keeley I want you to go upstairs to my room and shut and lock the door. My tablet is in the nightstand, Cooke is going to facetime you on there. Try and stay as quiet as you can okay. I won’t get off the phone with you until we know what’s going on. Everything is going to be okay, I promise.” I could hear Keeley climbing the stairs as I spoke to her. I grabbed the hotel phone and quickly called the security company.
“Mr. Crosby, our system shows that there is someone on the property and they tried to gain entrance through a window and then again through the back door. We have the police on their way over.” The security employee told me. I thanked him and hung up.
“Keeley, the police are on their way. Is Cooke on Facetime yet?” I questioned. I heard her sniffle.
“Yes, him, Geno and Letang are all on.” She said in a whisper.
“Good.The police are on their way. Stay calm okay.” I told her calmly. I don’t know how I was keeping it together as well as I was. I was freaking out on the inside. I grabbed the key card out of my suit pants and went to join the boys in Letang’s room.
“Are you in my closet?” I questioned as I sat down in front of Matt’s computer. She nodded her head yes, and wiped some tears away in the process. “You know I could make a few jokes right about now.” I joked, a small smile appeared on her face for a few seconds.
“Someone is knocking at the door.” She looked even more frightened.
“Keels, it’s okay. It’s just the police, it’s a part of protocol. They have to come and check on the house.” I told her reassuringly. She got up off the floor and grabbed something out of the corner of my closet. “Did you grab one of my sticks?” I asked trying not to laugh at her weapon choice. Keeley glared at me and stayed silent. She climbed down the stairs and peaked out the window. Red and blue lights now light up the neighborhood. We all watched as she opened the door, ready to smack whoever was on the other side. Thankfully it was the cops. Geno, Matt, Letang and I all let out a sigh of relief.
“I’ll call you guys back later, I’m going to talk with the police.” Keeley said before hanging up our Skype call. The room remained silent as I continued to stare at the black screen. Oh, how I wished that I was back home right now.
“What go on?” Geno asked. For the first time since I walked into his room, I got a good look at him. He looked terrible.
“Keeley called me and said the alarm was going off. When I talked to the alarm company they told me that there was someone on the property and they tried to come in through the window and when that didn’t work they tried my back door. I guess they weren’t expecting the house to have a security system or something.” I said sighing.
“She no safe.” Geno stated.
“No duh.” Letang mumbled under his breath. “I can see if Catherine can come pick her up and she can stay with her and Alex. I don’t want her to be alone.” He said pulling his phone out and sending a text to someone.
“She go my place. It safe. Gated, security, no come in.” Geno stated.
Matt and I both shook our heads no. There was no way in hell she was going to stay alone at Geno’s. Hell they weren’t even speaking to each other. The boys and I continued to debate about where she was going to go. We had to have discussed it for at least an hour before my phone ringing broke it up.
“Keeley, what’s going on?” I asked putting her on speaker phone, which probably wasn’t the best idea.
“The cops said they found a set of female footprints under the window and they dusted for prints there and on the back door. They have her on video at the front gate but other than that the police aren’t telling me much. I have one of the IR guys coming to pick me up. I’m going to stay with him until you guys get back home.” She said, the exhaustion evident in her voice.
“Who are you staying with?” All four of us asked at once.
“I’m staying with Olli and his adorable little Finnish bother, is that okay with all of you?” She asked. I couldn’t tell if she was joking or being serious. I trusted Olli, he was a well behaved and respectable young man.
“Okay. Call us if you need anything. Twelve more hours until we’re back home.” I said. She agreed and the boys and I said our goodbyes.
“So Olli huh? I coulda sworn she was more into Russians.” Cooke joked. None of us laughed, instead Matt and I went back to our room. I knew I wouldn’t go back to sleep, not until I was back in Pittsburgh with Keeley.

***Keeley***
Olli pulled up in his black Ford truck, parking behind one of the police cars. He rushed out of the car and wrapped me up in the tightest hug.
“Are you okay?” He asked giving me a quick look over. I let out a little laugh and nodded my head yes. “Are you able to leave now or do you need to finish stuff up with the police?” He questioned grabbing my bag off the ground.
“I can leave, they were just staying until you got here.” Olli nodded and led me to the truck. He opened the door and helped me into the passenger seat, bucking me up in the process. The ride to his apartment was filled with laughter as we sung along horribly might I add to whatever was playing on the radio. When we got to his apartment he helped me out of the car once more and grabbed my bag out of the back seat. I tried to take it from him but he insisted on carrying it.
“My brother is in the guest room, but you can stay in here.” He said opening the door to what I assumed was his room.
“I couldn’t intrude like that. I insist you take your room, I’ll stay on the couch.” I urged him but by the look he was giving I was sure he wasn’t going to change his mind.
“My mother would kill me if she knew I let a lady sleep on the couch.” He explained. I sighed knowing I wasn’t going to win this battle.
“Well your mom raised a complete gentleman. Thank you.” I softly kissed his cheek and he showed me the rest of the apartment. After the tour we said our goodbyes and I was left alone in his room. I placed my bag on his bed and pulled out a pair of my spandex shorts and a hoodie that I was sure Geno didn’t remember I had. Even though I have had it for a while it still smells exactly like him. Some days I think it’s a good thing and other days I absolutely hate it. I threw my bag over in the corner and climbed up into his bed getting comfortable. I sent a picture message to Sid and let him know that I was safe and sound at Olli’s and to get some rest, especially since I expected them to win tomorrow’s game. Sid replied back a few minutes later.
“I’m glad you’re safe. I wish I was there! Nice hoodie, it’d look better with an 87 though.” I rolled my eyes and put the phone on the bed side table before closing my eyes and drifting off.

Any ideas on who the mystery intruder may be? I'd love to know who you think it is. Also sorry for the short chapter, I'll try to add another one tomorrow!
