Save Me
Confusion
I bounced off the bed and heard some giggles. My eyes flew open and laying on the bed next to me was Sidney and Geno. They were trying hard not to giggle but so far they were failing miserably.
“What are y’all doing back so early?” I asked trying not to let out giggles of my own.
“Early?” Geno asked. “It almost noon. Should call you Lazy.” He laughed. I was really glad that Geno was here along with Sidney, I missed my best friend. I couldn’t believe Olli let me sleep that long. I had temporarily forgotten about the events of last night, until I saw Geno and Sid in Olli’s bed. This would be some fan girls dreams come true maybe under better circumstances I would have enjoyed it.
“Come on. You have to get up now. We’re going down to the police station to look over the security footage and see if we recognize who was on the property. Geno and I will be with you every step of the way. We promise.” Sidney said grabbing my hands and pulling me out of the bed. Thankfully I had gotten cold during the night and ended up putting a pair of Geno’s sweatpants over my volleyball shorts.
“That where they went.” Geno laughed and grabbed me around the waist pulling me into his chest. I could smell his cologne clearly and after not smelling it for so long it was intoxicating. “You good at take clothes.” All three of us laughed. It wasn’t that I was good at taking their clothes. They were just really good at giving them to me. I was pretty sure that I have more than my fair share of clothes from almost every guy on the team. In the beginning they made it into a competition, who could get me to wear their number.
The ride over to the police station was quiet. Geno’s Russian music was on low and provided a sort of comfort for me. Geno parked in front of the station and Sid helped me out of the backseat. I took a deep breath before grabbing ahold of his hand and walking inside.
“You must be Keeley. I’m Officer Morgan.” A tall broad shouldered blonde with blue eyes outstretched his hand to me. I nodded my head and shook his hand. “Alright, if you three want to follow me, I’ll show you where we have the surveillance footage set up. The walk seemed to take hours, bad thoughts began to fill my mind. What if it was Justin? What if he’s back? I felt Sidney squeeze my hand and I knew he was dead on about what was going through my mind. Officer Morgan sat down on one of the chairs and turned a computer on. “Okay, Keeley sit down here please.” I didn’t let go of Sidney’s hand as I sat down next to the officer, forcing Sidney to sit down as well. Geno stood directly behind me, his hands rubbing my shoulders trying to get me to relax. Officer Morgan pulled up the security footage from last night and pressed play. A blonde woman ran across Sidney’s yard and over to the window. She struggled to open it.
“That window doesn’t even open.” Sid said with a confused look. When the lady couldn’t open the window she ran to the back of the house where she attempted to open the back door, but was unsuccessful. “She has to be the worst burglar on the planet.” Sidney scoffed.
“Okay, there was that footage, now we have footage from the gate.” Officer Morgan said as he switched to a different screen and pressed play. Ten seconds into the video she appeared. The camera picked up a perfect shot of her face as she put the code into Sidney’s gate. I don’t think anyone was ready for who the intruder was. I gasped and Sidney turned to look at Geno. His hands were balled into fists and his jaw was locked tight.
“Keeley, do you recognize this woman?” Officer Morgan asked pausing the video. I turned in my chair so that I could see Geno clearly. On one hand this nut had tried to break into Sid’s house and should be punished for it but this was going to hurt Geno bad. I didn’t want to see my best friend hurt. I looked Geno in the eyes, searching for anything that would tell me what to do.
“Could you give us a few minutes, Officer Morgan?” I asked batting my eyelashes. He nodded and exited the room closing the door behind him. “What are we going to do?” I questioned more to myself than anyone else.
“This why she no tell me where she was.” Geno growled. He turned so he was facing the wall and rested his head against it. For the first time since we had been here I let go of Sidney’s hand. I stood next to Geno and placed my hand on his back, softly rubbing it.
“It’s okay, G. You need to tell me what you want me to do.” I whispered trying to comfort him. I couldn’t tell if it was working or not since I couldn’t see his face. I really did not want to hurt Geno so whatever decision I made I would need to make wisely. “Geno, tell me what you want me to do.” I whispered. Sidney came and joined us in the corner of the room seconds later.
“G, she knew Keeley would be the only one home. We both know she doesn’t like Keeley. So what was she doing there?” Sidney asked Geno. Geno sighed and wrapped his arms around me. I hugged him tightly.
“I won’t say anything if you don’t want me to G.” I whispered into his ear. G pulled pack a little and looked into my eyes.
“No. You tell. She try hurt my favorite girl. I no like that.” Geno said as Officer Morgan came back into the room carrying a water bottle for each of us. I gladly took one and chugged it.
“Okay, Keeley do you recognize the woman on the tapes?” Officer Morgan asked placing his hand on mine. After glancing back at Geno and receiving a nod from him I took a deep breath.
“Yes. I know the woman on the tape. Her name is Oksana.” I spoke softly keeping my eyes on the empty water bottle in front of me. Officer Morgan wrote her name down in his notebook and thanked me for my cooperation. Geno and Sidney walked out of the room and I went to follow.
“Keeley wait.” Morgan called. I turned around and smiled at the officer in front of me. He seemed a bit nervous. “I was wondering if maybe you’d like to go out sometime?” He rubbed the back of his neck and kept his eyes on the floor. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I really wasn’t expecting to come here and be asked out. Especially when I looked the way I did. I had no makeup, my hair wasn’t done and I was wearing yoga pants and Geno’s sweat shirt. Before I could even speak I felt someone grab ahold of my hand.
“She taken.” Geno growled before pulling me outside to the car. So now Geno is my boyfriend? I could already tell it was going to be a very long day.
I can't wait to read more! I love what you have so far!!!
