Save Me

“I have to do this Sidney. I can’t stay here. I already quit my job and told Jonny I would be there in a few days.” I told Sidney as we were sitting in a booth at my favorite restaurant.
It had been almost two weeks since Geno and I got into our fight. The night I called Sidney I packed up all of my things and moved back in with Sidney. I had texted Geno to let him know I wasn’t staying at the house and he could go home. Of course he didn’t answer. In fact I haven’t spoken to him since that night. It kind of angered me, to be honest.
“Keeley, come on, I’m not going to make excuses for him but please don’t leave me here.” Sidney was close to begging at this point. It broke my heart that I had to leave the town and people that I loved so much, but it had to happen. I reached across the table and took his hand in mine.
“Sid, you’re always welcome to come see me, hell I’m sure that I’ll come and see you. Your niece or nephew will come see you. I just need you to do one favor for me. It’s a lot to ask of you I know, but I need this to happen.” Sidney stayed quiet as I spoke. After a few moments he nodded his head yes.
“I need you to keep my location from Geno a secret. As you know he hasn’t tried to contact me in a few weeks now, but I don’t want him to know where I’m staying until I’m ready. Believe me, I know it is a big thing for you to keep from your best friend.” Sidney cut me off.
“He may be my best friend but you’re my little sister. I will keep your location a secret from him. Though it may not be so easy to keep it from Flower and Kris. They’re always asking about you. Are you going to see them before you leave?” He asked. I nodded. I couldn’t leave without saying goodbye to my favorite boys! What kind of friend would I be if I did that?

“Sidney! We have to leave now! My flight leaves in a few hours and we still have to pick up Marc-Andre and Kris!” I called up the stairs. I had a feeling that Sid was trying to make me miss my flight. I’m not really sure why though. We spent the last two days together watching movies and him running to town and picking up whatever food the baby was craving. Lately it had been Chinese food. I walked into the kitchen and took out one of the take out containers out of the fridge. I took a bite of noodles and managed to get them everywhere.
“You are so unladylike sometimes!” Sidney said handing me a paper towel. I responded by throwing a noodle at him. Sidney surprised me by taking me into his arms. We stood leaning on the kitchen counter just enjoying each other’s company.
“Sidney! Keeley!” Marc-Andre called our names from the entry way of the house. I looked up at Sidney and groaned. I was enjoying this time with him. I was starting to rethink going to stay with Johnny. Could I really leave Sidney here all alone? He already lost Geno, could I really leave him too? I sat down on the barstool and got lost in my thoughts.
“Yo Keeley! You alright over there?” Kris asked placing his arm around my shoulder. I nodded my head yes and leaned into him.
“Alright we need to get to the airport otherwise you’re going to miss your flight, and we can’t have that now can we?” Marc-Andre asked with a smile.
Sidney, Marc-Andre and Kris started to put my bags into the back of Sidney’s Range Rover. When the last bag had been placed in the trunk Sidney came to get me.
“Are you ready to go?” Sid asked sitting on the bar stool next to me. I didn’t know if I was ready for this. Pittsburgh has been my home for so long. I think Sidney could sense something was wrong. “Baby girl, what is wrong?” I was quickly pulled into his arms.
“What if I’m making a mistake Sid? Pittsburgh is my home, I don’t know if I can leave here.” I started to cry in his arms.
“Baby girl, look at me.” Sid took my face in his hands. “You are not making a mistake. It hurts me to say this but, you need to do what is best for you and the baby. If you decide that you only want to stay with Jonny and Patrick for a few days or weeks or months then so be it. You need to get away for a little bit. All of this stress isn’t good on you or my niece or nephew in there.” Sid said placing his hand on my growing stomach.
The ride to the airport was silent. Sidney drove and I sat in the back seat with Kris and Marc-Andre’s arms around me. The boys carried my bags and helped me get them checked in. There was only twenty minutes before my flight would be leaving to take me to Jonny.
“When you get to Chicago give us a phone call and let us know that you got there okay.” Kris said giving me a kiss on each cheek. “I love you kid. Oh, before I forget, whenever you come back Catherine wants to do a shopping trip and lunch or something.”
“Vero does too.” Marc- Andre added.
“Don’t be a stranger, okay? The babies and I will miss you.” Marc said kissing the top of my head. Sidney stood back for a few moments before he picked me up in his arms and hugged me tightly.
“I’m really going to miss you Keeley.” Sidney said. I had to try very hard to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall.
“I’ll be back soon Sid. I promise.” He nodded his head and placed me back on my feet.
“There’s a surprise waiting for you when you get to Chicago. Jonny and Pat already know about it. “ Sid said placing his hands back in his pockets.
“Sidney Patrick! You didn’t have to get me anything! I don’t want you spending money on me!” I halfway yelled, getting the attention of the people around me. I blushed at the attention that was now on me.
“It no come from him. It come from me.” I heard that beautiful accent that I had fallen so in love with say.
