Save Me
Sleepover
***Sidney’s point of view***
“Hey Sid!” Jordan called speed walking down the aisle of the plane. I turned in my seat so that he was directly in my sight. He sat down in the seat across from mine. “What’s going on with Keels and Geno?” He asked, both of us turning back to look at the two cuddled up in the back of the plane. “I went to give her a hug like I do every time I see her and I thought Geno was going to freak out. There’s something fishy going on, I can feel lit Cap.” I nodded my head in agreement. “If she wants us to know then she will tell us, until then all we can do is watch over her and make sure that nothing happens. Geno seems to be doing a good job so far. She’s not rooming alone on this trip. No matter what she isn’t alone.” Jordan nodded and went back to his seat. I couldn’t help but think of how right Jordan was. There was something going on with Keeley. I wasn’t sure what it was exactly. I just hoped she knew that she could come to any of us if there was something wrong. We are here for her no matter what. The rest of the plane ride was uneventful. When we arrived at the airport the bus was waiting on us. It didn’t take long for everyone to get off the plane, grab their luggage and board the bus. We were soon off to the hotel to drop our bags off then we’d be on our way to the arena for our practice before the game later tonight.
***Keeley’s point of view***
Geno gently shook me awake once the plane had landed and whispered “We here.” In my ear. I stretched my arms out to my side groaning as I felt the pain from my ribs. Geno grabbed my hand and pulled me off the bus grabbing all of our luggage in the process. “You stay with me tonight?” he questioned. I shook my head no. “I promised a few friends that I would stay with them tonight. I’ll be back before the bus leaves tomorrow.” Geno gave me an unsure look. “I’ll be fine, G. Believe me, I’ll be more than fine. They’ll take good care of me.” I smiled at him and continued walking to the bus. I pulled my phone out of my pocket once I was safely seated in the back of the bus. I had a text from Kaner, Johnny, and Shawzie. I opened Kaners first. I rolled my eyes as I read it.
“I can’t wait to see ya babycakes! I’m exicted for our sleep over(; - Kaner
Johnny and Shawzie’s were similar. Both said something along the lines of “I can’t wait to see you. The guys are going to be so excited.” I laughed and typed out a response to the three. It was probably the first time I had truly smiled in at least a week. I needed this break and to see my favorite boys from Chicago. I felt the seat next to me sink down, looking to my left I saw it was none other than Jordan.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked raising my eyebrow at him. He gave me his signature smile, “Sitting. What are you doing?” He asked poking me in the side. I grimaced, “You have a seat. This one isn’t it. Now, go find it.” I stated, hoping that he would leave. “Damn, Keels. You don’t have to be a bitch.” Jordan said. The words falling off of his tongue before he could stop them. I turned towards him. “I’m being a bitch? Seriously Jordan!” I yelled, my voice coming out higher than I would have liked for it too. “You want me to really start being a bitch? Remember who controls if you get to play or not.” I threatened as he got in my face, his only inches from mine. I pulled back until my head was resting up against the glass. “If you knew what was best for you, I wouldn’t threaten me.” He growled. I shivered at how harsh his voice sounded. Jordan wouldn’t hit me, would he? All of a sudden Jordan was yanked out of the seat and was pressed firmly against the back of the bus. Geno was in his face and Jordan looked pissed. They exchanged heated words and it looked like they were about to fight. I couldn’t have the two teammates fighting, so I jumped up out of my seat and got in between the two boys. I really didn’t have that great of timing because right as I turned my head to face Jordan I felt his fist connect with my jaw. I felt someone grab me and pull me away from the boys. This wasn’t happening. Jordan was like my brother he would never purposely hurt me, right? I felt someone gently shaking me and bringing my attention to them. My eyes soon locked with the beautiful brown orbs that were looking at me. I was sitting in Sid’s lap and his arms were wrapped protectively around me.
“Are you okay?” He questioned his hand gently touching my jaw. I nodded, suddenly aware that Geno wasn’t in the small group of men that now surrounded me. Letang, Neal and Talbot were crowded around me. “Where’s Geno?” I questioned quickly glancing around the bus. I didn’t see him. “I’ll go get him.” Nealer said kissing the top of my head before disappearing. I laid my head on Sidney’s chest and waited for G and Nealer to come back.
“Keel alright?” He questioned looking into my eyes, his hands gently holding my cheeks. I nodded. I placed my hand on his busted lip and felt my body heat up. I shot out of Sidney’s lap. “Where the fuck is he?” I yelled, looking around the bus once more. “I’m going to kill him!” I easily slipped past the boys and started going through each row of seats. I was almost to the back when I felt a pair of arms grab me from behind. I was placed in a seat and Geno was in front of me.
“It fine. I’m fine. He look worse.” He joked. I sighed and felt the bus start to move. “Are you sure you’re okay?” I questioned laying my head on his shoulder once again. “I’m fine. Are you?” He questioned back. I was about to slip out, ‘It wasn’t the first time, I’m used to it.’ But I quickly stopped myself. “I’m a tough girl. Plus Jordy hits like a bitch.” I joked. The rest of the bus ride was silent. No one really knew what to say. I was perfectly fine with the silence. It was kind of relaxing actually.
“Geno!” I called from the bathroom. I felt his presence in the doorway not too long after I had called his name. “I’m leaving now. I’ll be back tomorrow. Text me if you need anything. I’ll keep my phone on me. Are you sure you don’t want to stay with Sid or have one of the boys come stay here in the room?” I asked as I tried my best to hide the bruises. I felt bad about leaving Geno alone after the loss that they had suffered to the Blackhawks earlier tonight. I asked if he wanted me to stay with him but he insisted that I didn’t cancel my plans. I was pretty sure Geno thought that the bruises were all from Jordan. While I wasn’t going to correct him I still kind of felt bad for him. It was an accident after all. I heard my phone vibrating on the counter. I quickly picked it up and answered.
“Okay, I’ll be right down.” I said hanging up the phone.
“G! I’m heading out now.” I said picking my bag up off the floor. I had packed some pajamas, my toothbrush, hair brush, a few hair ties and my makeup bag, along with some clothes for tomorrow. Geno got off of the bed he had been laying on and grabbed his key card off of the desk and met me at the door. “I walk you down.” He said opening the door for me. I wasn’t sure if this was a good idea or not. I hadn’t exactly told him who I was going to stay with or that I was friends with the Blackhawks. The ride down in the elevator was short. We stopped in the middle of the lobby, “Well they’re waiting outside.” I said awkwardly standing next to him. He nodded and slipped his sweatshirt off. “It cold.” He said handing it to me. I gladly took it and slipped it on. “Thank you.” I said kissing his cheek. I felt his eyes on me as I walked out the hotel door and into Patrick Kane’s car. Kaner kissed my cheek and stated his hummer.
“The guys are really excited to see you tomorrow. They’re coming over for breakfast. I got all of the stuff to make your favorite.” He smiled grabbing my hand.
“You paid Abby to buy the stuff and cook didn’t you?” I asked giggling. Even though it was dark inside the car, the street lights and radio being the only source of light. Patty’s cheeks turned bright red. “I might have.” He laughed. It felt good being back in Chicago with him. I didn’t realize just how much I had missed being around him. Before I got the job in Pittsburgh, we were inseparable. Moving had been tough but I don’t really regret it. “Everything okay over there?” Patty asked squeezing my hand. I hadn’t realized that I was staring at the passing buildings until he had said something.
“Who all is at the apartment right now?” I asked avoiding the question. Pat looked back at the road. “Just Johnny. It’s just you, me, and Johnny tonight. We’re hogging you.” He said with a wink. I laughed and nodded.
***Pat’s point of view***
“Johnny! We’re home!” I yelled letting Keeley into the apartment. It took maybe two seconds before Johnny was in front of me with Keeley in his arms. I could tell there was something off by the look on her face. “Johnny, put the girl down. You’re squeezing her too tight.” I laughed as he complied and mumbled a sorry to Keels. The three of us made our way into the living room where Johnny had a bunch of movies laid out on the coffee table, along with popcorn and soda. I saw Keeley’s eyes light up at the sight of it. “Man you guys weren’t lying when you said it was going to be just like old times.” She laughed and started to sort through the movies. “Can we please watch this one, Johnny?! Please!” She begged sticking her lip out and giving him the puppy dog eyes. He sighed and gave in. We never could say no to her and she knew it. I watched as she did a little dance and put the movie in the DVD player. I wasn’t sure I wanted to know what it was, but I’d find out soon enough. I sat on one end of the couch and Johnny sat at the other, Keeley sat in between us and pressed play. “Seriously? I thought I told you to hide this movie!” I groaned at Jon. For the millionth time, Keeley was making us watch Miracle. “I tried! She found it!” He laughed as she put her feet on his lap. “You guys said just like old times, so we can’t have that without this.” She laughed leaning against me. I gently punched her ribs, playfully. I saw the hurt flash in her eyes, but she tried to play it off like nothing was wrong. I grabbed the remote off of the coffee table and pressed pause. “Kaner! I was watching that!” She said trying to grab the remote out of my hand. I held it above my head and watched as she tried to grab it. “Keels, you have some explaining to do. Sit.” I ordered pointing at the spot on the couch. She obeyed but stayed silent. “What is going on? Don’t tell me nothing either. We know you better than that.” I heard her sigh and watched as she started to pick at the nail polish that was on her finger nails. After another sigh she got up off the couch and went into the kitchen. Johnny and I followed. We watched as she dug through the cabinet, looking for something, I had a feeling that I already knew what it was. When she pulled it out, I knew that it was going to be a long night. Keeley wasn’t much of a drinker. She only drank when she needed to take the edge off or when there was something really wrong. She walked back into the living room without a word to either of us. Jon and I sat across from her on the coffee table. She took a long drink of the vodka, she grimaced as she felt the burn in her throat. It stayed quiet for a while. The only sound coming from the street and the slushing of the liquid in the bottle. “I should have known that I couldn’t fool you guys. Hell I don’t think I’m fooling the boys either. I feel so bad about lying to them, but I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want anyone to get hurt and I know that if they find out then someone will. I can’t deal with that!” She sobbed. Johnny and I looked at each other, having no clue what she was talking about. “Keels, you can tell Johnny and I anything. We’re here for you.” I gently took her hand in mine. “Start from the beginning.” I said keeping my voice calm. “I starting dating this guy, Justin, about four months ago. He was great, he would surprise me with flowers, candy, dinners, everything a girl could want. Once he lost his job things went downhill. He lost everything and ended up moving in with me. It started with random fights, he’d throw things at me or punch walls. It started to get worse. The smallest things set him off. If I didn’t fold his laundry the way he wanted it then he’d get mad. If I didn’t make dinner the way he wanted or what he wanted then I would pay for it. About a month or so ago is when it got extremely physical. Geno invited me to a party, and I ended up getting hammered. I woke up in G’s bed the next morning. Nothing happened but Justin was pissed. He busted my lip, gave me a black eye, cracked a rib and dislocated my shoulder. I was a mess. I don’t know what to do. He said that if I tell the boys then he’ll hurt them. I don’t want that to happen.” She cried into my shoulder. I pulled her in close, running my fingers through her hair. “So Justin did this to you?” I questioned. She nodded her head and took another drink of Vodka. “Before we left for the road trip he attacked me. He told me I had to have something to remember my place and what would happen if I stepped out of line during the trip. I couldn’t carry my own bag. Geno had to do it.” She wiped her eyes. I looked at Johnny and I could tell that he was pissed. Hell I was too. “Keels, you need to get away from him. Far away. He isn’t good for you. I don’t like to see you hurt. He better hope that we don’t see him when we come to Pittsburgh next month. We’ll kill him.” I said hugging her tighter. “You and Johnny can’t fight.” She joked. She had a point though, Johnny and I weren’t known for fighting. Bicks, CarBomb, and Shawzie on the other hand were. “We’ll just get Bick, CarBomb and Shawzie to go after him. You know how much they like a good fight.” She laughed at my joke but continued to drink from the bottle. I watched as she pulled something out of her jacket pocket, it was her phone. “Geno’s calling me. I have to take it.” She grabbed the bottle and walked out onto the balcony. We had to do something, but I just didn’t know what.
I can't wait to read more! I love what you have so far!!!
