Save Me

***Keeley’s point of view***
The rest of the road trip was pretty uneventful. The boys won all of their games, Sidney says it’s because I was with them, the rest of the team seemed to agree with his statement. I spent a lot of time hanging out with Geno, we had quite a few sleep overs. Sometimes a few of the other guys would also stay and other times it was just G and I. Which I’m not complaining about. We left the hotel right after the last game, I guess coach needed to get home before tomorrow because his wife was dragging him to some wedding that he really didn’t want to go to.
“Keeley! Come sit next to me!” I heard James yell as he grabbed my hand and led me to the back of the plane. The flight was only a few hours long, so I really didn’t think it would be that bad. “You always sit with Geno. It’s time to switch it up baby girl.” He pushed me into the window seat and he planted his butt in the seat next to mine.
“Really? Baby girl? You couldn’t come up with something better than that?” I laughed and shoved him lightly. “Nope, that’s your new nickname from me. Oh! You do need to come up with one for me.” He laughed shoving me back lightly.
“Alright, Jamie it is.” He nodded and I laid my head against his shoulder. I must have fallen asleep because I woke up to Jamie shaking me. “Are we back already?” Jamie laughed and said yes. Once we all got off the plane we’d take a bus back to the CEC and then we were home bound. I was looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, hopefully Justin wouldn’t be there. I hoped he would just disappear out of my life, but I knew it wasn’t that easy. Nothing ever is.
“Justin are you home?” I called into the empty apartment. All of the lights and electronics were off so that was a good sign. When I heard nothing I knew he wasn’t here. I laid all of my bags down next to the door and pushed the heavy bookcase from the living room in front of the door. I shed all of my clothes leaving them in the living room and changed into the jacket that Geno had given me on the road trip. It felt good to be back in my own bed, under my covers. I was almost asleep when I felt my phone vibrating beside me. I groaned and answered without looking at the contact information.
“Hello?” I asked sitting up a little bit.
“Did you do it yet?” I heard someone ask over loud background noise, it sounded like they were in a club.
“Kaner? Do you know what time it is?” I looked over at the alarm clock and saw it was a little after four. I had been home for almost an hour.
“Uh, yeah. It’s like three am.” He laughed and said something to someone.
“I was almost asleep. What do you want?” I growled. I wanted sleep and I wanted it now.
“The boys and I want to know if you did it yet. We got to make sure that we don’t have to take a flight down there and kick some ass!” I couldn’t help but laugh. I knew that he had to be with at least a few of the boys, and if they were all together then they were most definitely drinking. I didn’t even have to ask what he was talking about. Once he said they’d get on a plane I knew.
“Not yet. He wasn’t here when I got home. I’m going to do it tomorrow. I promise, okay. Now I want you and whoever you’re with to go home.” I heard him giggle.
“Okay, Candy and I will go back to my place.” I heard a female voice on the other end.
“Patrick Timothy Kane. That is not what I meant and you know it. I want you to take whatever teammates are with you and go home. I will talk to you and Johnny tomorrow.” I said trying to keep my eyes open.
“Okay mom” He laughed. “I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Love you Keels.” I heard him whisper before he hung up.I put my phone back on the nightstand and closed my eyes. This time falling asleep with no interruptions.

***Geno’s point of view***
I made sure that Keeley had everything and it was all packed in the back of her little car. It looked to be about as old as I was. She was new to the city and still didn’t know her way around. It made me nervous when she drove that car. It could break down at any time and what would happen if it was at night or if she didn’t know where she was? Hell, it’d be even worse if the guys and I were on a road trip when it happened. We were getting closer to convincing coach that she should come on the road with us, but we weren’t quite there yet. Her birthday is coming up, maybe she’d like a new car? Is that to over the top, would she like it? I made a mental note to ask Sidney about it later. I watched as she drove away into the night. I climbed into my black BMW and started the twenty minute drive back to my house. I wasn’t looking forward to going home to an empty house. I couldn’t help but think of what my life would be like if Keeley was a bigger part of it. I wanted her to be mine. I wanted her to have my children. There wasn’t anything that I wanted more. I’d give up hockey for her, but she’d have no part in that. There was something about her. She didn’t care that I made millions of dollars every year, I have luxury cars, I go to another country during the off season, live in a huge house, or that I’m a famous hockey player. She had everything that a guy could want. She had long brown hair that she usually wore up, she had the most beautiful blue eyes, she got along with my friends very well, they all love her, she has her own job, her own house and she doesn’t expect us to do anything for her. I think that makes surprising her that much better for the guys and I. We all love to see her happy. Hell I would give all of the money in the world just to see her smile. I pulled into the drive and turned the car off. I decided that my bags could wait until tomorrow and unlocked my door. I didn’t have to turn any lights on, I climbed the stairs and took a left walking into my bathroom. I changed into a pair of sweats and brushed my teeth. I pulled my phone out and decided to send a text to Keeley.
“Goodnight. Plan tomorrow?” I smiled and sent the text climbing into bed and immediately falling asleep.
