My Hero

Chapter 1

"One vodka club and a martini for the lady please." My newly formed bar friend spoke as he leaned over the bar, "Thanks for letting me buy you a drink...."

"Sarah." I smiled, "And your name?"

"Doug Chenoworth. Nice to meet you Sarah. You look very nice tonight."

I blushed. I looked down at my black dress that was skin tight with an open back with some lace. I also had on an expensive-looking pair of black sparkly heels. I was by myself at some bar in Dallas, trying to get free drinks while I was young enough to keep it going. "Thank you Doug, what do you do?"

"The usual, just a lowly accountant for a law firm around here. I won't go into it because I wouldn't want to bore you to death." He laughed and so did I.

Doug looked up at the TV's, a cowboys game was on and every guys face in the bar was glued to the TV. I took a sip of my martini complete with the green olive- strong, the way I liked it. Doug looked down at his phone.

"Shoot" he kinda laughed

"What's wrong?" I asked, martini in my hand, my copper hair draped over my shoulders. I looked like a woman in a James Bond movie.

"I am so sorry..."

"Sarah." I said darkly.

"Yes, what a beautiful name. Anyways, a new intern completely screwed up the expense reports for this quarter. I am so sorry, can I at least put my number into your phone?"

I understood completely. Interns at my job always screwed up things, and I had to drop everything to save them. I turned around to the back of my chair to get my iphone and create a contact for Doug. I gave my phone over to him and he put a number in happily.

"Sarah, at least drink the rest of that martini I bought you before you left."

I obliged and gulped down the rest of the martini as he did the same with his vodka club. He then let out a snickerish smile. He stayed sitting there for a minute.

"Don't you have to get back to work?" I asked, a sudden headache overcoming my whole body.

"Oh Sarah, I'm not going anywhere." He smiled.

My thoughts became cloudy and my limbs became not able to work. My eyes were open and I could see everything. Only I couldn't speak or yell or move anything.

"Why don't we get you home." Doug smiled and pulled me down from a bar stool. My legs suddenly gave out underneath me and I was unable to walk. Everything was going dark. Doug grabbed me in his arms and brought me outside of the bar. It was raining and i could feel the raindrops against my exposed thighs. The last thing I heard before I completely blacked out was "I can't wait to do the things I've always wanted to do to a girl tonight." coming from Doug.

I was helpless. I couldn't move, I couldn't scream. The only thing I could do was stare at Doug and hope that he would decide to change his mind. For the last couple of seconds while I was awake I heard a "HEY!" and suddenly Doug had dropped me to the concrete outside of the bar.

Sunlight drifted in through a window in an apartment that I was now in. I opened my eyes. My head hurt like someone had took my head and smashed it against a wall. I was in a white bed, a king size I believe, with some cool rustic artwork on the walls. As I sat up in the bed I realized what had happened that night before.

"Holy shit I need to get out of here." I thought to myself. I looked down at my attire. I was wearing a Boston Bruins t-shirt and some flannel pants that were way too big. On the bedside table next to me was my dress folded perfectly, my shoes on the ground, and my clutch including my phone charging in the wall. "I need to get out of here." As I tried to stand up to get out of bed, my legs gave in again and while falling, I let out a small yelp.

A young man about my age or a year or two older ran into the room.

"Are you okay?" He asked putting his hands around my shoulder to help me up.

"Get off of me!" I screamed, "You put something in my drink last night!" I screamed even louder.

The strange man scooped me up wedding style and dealt with my screaming while doing so. He brought me out of the bedroom and into what looked like a very modern sitting area.

"Sit." He ordered, I was so scared that I remained on the couch he had placed me.

A minute later he came back with a tall glass of water in his hands. "Here, you need to drink this and take these. Your head is probably killing you." It looked like ibuprofen so I took the pills.

"Do you know your name?" He asked so quietly that it sounded like whispers.

"Sarah Hoffman." I stated

"Well, it's nice to meet you Sarah under these circumstances, I'm Tyler Seguin."
