Jamie POV

I ended up playing in the game, I was useless but I was there. My mind was elsewhere and my team deserved more than that. If you had asked me when I was younger if I saw myself married at 26 I would have told you that you were crazy. Hockey was the only important thing in my life until Holly changed me. We had met through mutual friends one summer and we spent most of it together, when the season started up again I flew her from Montreal to Dallas almost every weekend. I fell in love with her quickly and I fell extremely hard. A year later we got married and she moved to Dallas. It was quick but it felt so right, it still does.
“Just go to Jon’s tomorrow morning, he’s home I just texted him” I said as I got ready for bed. Jon Toews and I had known each other from the hockey scene but had become really good friends in Sochi. I texted him as soon as soon as I knew Holly was in Chicago and he generously offered to help.
“I don’t want to bother him,” Holly said. She managed to get a hotel room and a charger for her phone so we were FaceTiming, it felt so good to see her face.
“Babe they’re coming down to play us tomorrow, he said he was going to try and see if you can get a lift home with the team” I said.
“I don’t want to bother them,” she said curling into a ball into the bed.
“Yeah but who knows if you’ll be able to catch a flight home tomorrow” I said crawling onto her side of the bed.
“Okay I’ll text him in the morning okay?” She said with a yawn.
“I can’t wait for you to get home”
“Me too, I can’t wait for everything to go back to normal” she sighed.
“Me too” I answered.
“Jamie can we talk about tonight’s game?” she asked and I knew where she was going with this.
“Hols”
“Jamie I know you better than anyone else, you knew I was okay by the time the game came around. There was something else bothering you wasn’t there?” she asked.
“Hols we can talk about it when you get home. Please don’t start this now” I begged.
“Is it about the baby Jamie? Do you want this baby?” she asked and she was crying. I didn’t know what to say.

Tyler POV

I waved bye to Jamie as I walked up the stairs to my apartment. He had a rough game and the guys could feel it. We managed to win but it was always hard when your captain’s mind isn’t between the glass. I walked into my apartment and got my usual greeting from Marshal and Cash who come running. If it weren’t for them being home would be so lonely. My mind instantly went to Sara, in the short time she was in Dallas she took over my head when I wasn’t on the ice. When she came here she was so quiet and fragile but she opened slowly and she was just a beautiful and amazing person. I knew deep down inside that her going back home was best for her but my heart didn’t want her to leave.

The fact that she watched the game gave me a big goofy smile.
If I’d known you were watching I would have went for a hat trick, maybe even a fight –Tyler
And mess up that pretty face of yours? You’d really have nothing going for you if you did that – Sara
So you only like me for my good looks? – Tyler
I never said I liked you ;) – Sara
That gave me a little jab to the heart but I knew she was joking.
So I guess you don’t want tickets to come watch our game in Montreal? – Tyler
Never said that – Sara
They’ll be waiting for you in the box office – Tyler

An old friend? Was the code for an old fling? I knew it wasn’t any of by business but it made my heart heavy.

I typed quickly and then put my phone on the table. I stepped into the shower needing to wash away all the troubles of the day. I had to get this girl out of my head before it was too late.
