Going for Gold

KATIE'S POV

“Katie c’mon, wake up!” Megan chirped loudly as she jumped up and down on the bed.

‘God, ya know Meg you can be really annoying” I groaned loudly, “what time is it anyway” as my hand was searching for my glasses while the other hand rubbed her eyes roughly.

“uhh it’s 5:30 in the morning” Megan mumbled under her breath opening the blinds up letting in the little light the sun gave off at this time.

Once i got my glasses situated on the tip of my nose. I realized that today Megan and I had a five hour car ride for her brothers birthday party.

“You do realize the party doesn’t start till 7:30 tonight, right?” I addressed, yawning once more. I have been to countless birthday parties for her brother Tyler, but this time it was different. He was playing for the NHL on the Dallas Stars and his entire team was coming.

“Well you see” She smirked at me pulling me out of bed which i let out an annoying grunt. “My mom wants us there by 12 to help set up and then we go shopping for a hot outfit” Megan winked at me.

I knew exactly what that smirk meant, after the family party for Tyler the rest of us would all go out to the club to really celebrate. I wasn’t much for clubs but Megan and Tyler only being a year apart seemed as if they were twins, both were extremely outgoing and loved to party and of course a huge heart for hockey.

“ughhh” I moaned obnoxiously “Give me till 6 then we can hit the road okay, I’m in serious need of a hot shower” I laughed pretending to smell my under arms.

As i stood under the hot steaming shower I began to get overwhelmed. This party was no big deal but I only ever knew Tyler with the Bruins, I got so comfortable with them but this was a whole new group of guys what if they didn’t like me? What if they thought I was a loser for not drinking at the club?

Quickly throwing my hair into a ponytail and putting on a pair of black nike shorts my teal
vans and a white tank top. Megan and I headed out the door to Dallas.

‘Ty is really excited to see you again!” Meg smiled turning the left blinker on. “So are the team meets, especially one specific guy” she winked at me

“Oh god, i’m scared what that means” I blushed from being embarrassment “Your ass of a brother probably told them embarrassing stories of me!” I chirped loudly. “God I bet this guy thinks i’m sort of loser”
“You are very wrong, Jamie thinks you’re really cute” she blurted. “Fuck it was supposed to be a secret”

My face went entirely red right at that second



After 5 hours of driving, well sleeping for me actually and two pee breaks we made it to Momma Seguins house.

“Girls” she shouted running out the door to hug us

“Hi mom” We both yelled

Though she wasn’t my mother, i’ve been calling her mom since i was eighteen after the accident happened with her taking care of me. As we hugged I noticed two dark shadows in the doorway, shit i thought to myself, there he was Mr. Jamie Benn

JAMIES POV

Fuck fuck fuck i thought to myself. God I know Tyler always told funny stories of Katie and his sister Megan but he forgot to leave out the part of how insanely stunning she was. Her blonde hair bounced lightly in the air, god that bright smile could brighten the sky every time she laughed or smiled, and my god those legs were as long as a the ocean depth.

“Uh Jam?” Tyler laughed questionly. “You okay there bud?”

Noticing my mouth hung up “Oh um yeah i’m fine, why don’t we go say hi?” I urged.

God, i felt my palm get sweaty the closer we got to the girls. “Hey Meg” I softly said giving her a big hug.

“Hey ugly shit one” Tyler laughed hugging megan “Hey ugly shit two” giving Katie a hug

‘Um excuse me, have you looked in the mirror i’m pretty sure youre the ugly shit and happy birthday” Katie giggled. Her eyes wander to mine, making eye contact but I quickly looked down.

Tyler got the hint her and I made eye contact, elbowing a smirk to me “ Jamie I want you to meet the worlds ugliest shit yet funniest shit ever Katie”.

“Nice to meet you Katie, and you aren’t an ugly shit” I blurted. shit that sounded way smoother in my head.

“Thank you, Nice to meet you too” She spoke softly

God she probably thinks i’m a loser and isn’t sure if she should take that as a compliment, but boy oh boy i wish i could tell her i thought she looked beautiful.

KATIES POV

“So what do you think of Jamie” Megan said proudly causing me to snap out of my daze of Jamie

“He seems like a nice guy” I stated. I thought he was more than a nice guy, fuck i thought he was the hottest guy i met

“Oh cut the shit Kat, you know what i mean” she shot at me

Knowing i couldn’t lie “Meg he is pretty damn hot and from the five words he said around me he seems really nice” I blushed

“I KNEW IT” Tyler screamed laughing till he cried. God I have never felt so embarrassed before about to burst into tears
