• “I would love to meet your parents” I smiled as Katie lifted her head up from her hands with a big smile

“Okay, lets go” Katie announced softly “I think they’re over there, I-I haven’t been here since the funeral”

“Thats okay baby” I gently spoke wrapping my arm around hers “How do I look?”

“Ravishing” Katie laughed as we made our way down the aisle arm in arm “Well here we are”

I kneeled down and read the tombstone

Emma and Nick Murphy

March 31st, 1960-December 29th, 2009

September 5th, 1959-December 29th, 2009

Today was the anniversary of their death, I looked up at Katie her arms were crossed as she looked up into the sky as tears fell down her rosy red cheeks. “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Murphy. Its a pleasure to finally meet you after all these months, Katie has told me some pretty hilarious stories of the three of you like the one of you guys at the grand canyon when Katie got lost. I want to let you know that the minute I saw your daughter for the first time I fell in love with her, she is beautiful, she is smart, and she makes me extremely happy. And Mr. Murphy, I am never going to betray your daughter, I want to spend the rest of my life making her happy” I leaned in closer to the tomb stone and whispered softly so Katie couldn’t hear “Because one day I will marry your daughter” I stood up and hugged Katie allowing the tears to hit my neck

“Moon and back” I whispered rubbing my hand through Katies sun kissed hair “Do you want to talk to them?”

Wiping the fallen tears off her cheeks “Yes please” kneeling down she touched the tombstone “Hi mom, hi daddy. I know its been quite some time since i’ve been here and I’m really sorry about that, I just knew that when the day came that I came here I would have to fully accept you aren’t with me anymore. But here I am accepting that you guys are gone, and I thought it was going to hurt a lot more, yet it doesn’t hurt like i imagined because I have Jamie to lean on and to help me. He helped open up about the whole situation and the accident, it was always hard to talk to someone about it however with Jamie I feel safe to tell him anything and everything. Mommy, I think he is the one. He takes my breath away each time he smiles, he makes me happy, the happiest I’ve been in a long time. And don’t worry dad, I’m graduating college I might even graduate ahead of my class too, guess all those hours studying really did come in handy” She let out a sad laugh “I miss you guys, but this was a blessing in a disguise because I have Jamie now”

She stood up and hugged me letting out a sigh of relief “Do you think they’re watching over me?”

“Of course” I leaned back so I could look down at her “They’ll always been with you. Some people say that people who pass come back as animals”

As I said that, two red hummingbirds flew down and sat on top of Katies parents tombstone. “They’re red hummingbirds” Katie smiled

“Thank you for taking me here” I softly spoke

“Thank you” Katie admitted

“For what?” I questioned

“For being here for me” Katie laughed kissing my cheek

“I’ll always be here” I smiled “We better get going before they lock us in here”

“That would be bad” Katie chuckled “Bye mom, bye daddy. Can we go get hot cocoa, i am freezing”

“Nice meeting you Mr. and Mrs. Murphy, yes lets go get some” I smiled wrapping my arm around Katie as we made our way down the aisle “I’ll drive us to the cafe”

Getting into the car I could see the sign of relief on Katies face. This meant a lot to her that we went here, I could see she was proud of herself for finally coming out here and I was too especially because it was the anniversary of their death and she handled it extremely well. I knew a small quaint cafe close by so it was only a short ten minute drive. When we got inside, we both order a hot cocoa and two croissants taking a seat in the back of the cafe.

“Megan and I are going to go shopping next week for a dress for the Sochi olympics” Megan smiled proudly “What do you think is my color?”

“Your color?” I laughed confusingly “What the hell does that mean?”

“Oh god Jamie, it means what color looks the best on me” Katie laughed “So whats mine?”

“Any color” I admitted looking at Katie who jokingly rolled her eyes “Okay okay let me think, red yes one hundred percent red”

“Red it is, thank you” Katie leaned over and kissed me

We sat in silence for the next minute just drinking our hot cocoa in peace when all a sudden a young boy in a green arm cast maybe not even a day over five years old made his way towards us “Hi Mr.Benn can-can you sign my cast pwease”

“Of course” I smiled kneeling down “Whats your name?”

“Ty-Tyler” He softly spoke handing me the black sharpie

As i signed his cast I spoke gently “Hey you know what, my best friends name is Tyler, Tyler Seguin do you know him?”

“He swoots a lot of goals” He smiled “Like you”

“He shoots a lot more than me” I chuckled “All signed, hey man you wanna take a picture?”

The boy nodded as he waved for his mother to come over to take a picture of the two us. After the picture was taken we hugged goodbye and he made his way with his mom out of the cafe, getting settled back in my chair Katie had a big grin on her face “What?” I asked

“Lets see, you’re sexy, smart, funny, caring, and you’re good with kids. You’re the living flesh of the ideal package” Katie chuckled “God how did I ever get you?”

“The real question is how the hell did I get you?” I admitted “You ready to get out of here”

“You betcha” Katie announced


KATIE POV

By the time we got home it was six pm already and my stomach was killing me again. What the hell did I eat that make my stomach hurt so bad? Jamie could see my stomach was hurting badly

“You sure you’re okay?” Jamie asked concerned as we made our way to the apartment door

“Yes I’m fine, I just need to lay down” I moaned holding my stomach

“Shit, forgot my keys” Jamie spat banging on the door “Ty, open up”

As tyler opened the door revealing himself in a towel “Shit can you hold on a sec-” before he finished speaking I puked all over his body which caused Tyler to let a high pitched scream. Wiping the left over puke off my face I looked up at Tyler and began crying realizing what I did.

“Well thats a new welcoming gift” Tyler chuckled standing still

“Ty, im so sorry” I cried

“Babe c’mon lets get you inside” Jamie announced concerned as we made our way around Tyler “You okay seggy?”

“Yeah don’t worry about me, take care of Katie she probably has the stomach bug” Tyler announced gently “Not like shes pregant” Letting out a huge laugh

Jamie and I looked at each other with wide eyes trying to comprehend what Tyler said as we overheard him from the bedroom.

“Oh my god” I admitted softly sitting on the edge of the bed

Jamie sat on the floor under me and took off my shoes, leggings and then my shirt putting one of his big tee shirts over my head. “Come on lets get you in bed” Jamie softly spoke picking me up and placing me under the covers and crawling into bed next to me kissing my forehead. We sat in silence until Jamie spoke softly “Are you?”

“I-I don’t know, my period is only a day late” I cried softly “The last time we had sex, did we use a condom?”

“I don’t think we did cause we were just taking a shower together and it happened” Jamie pondered

“I-im sorry” I cried

“Don’t be sorry Babe” He soothed “This isn’t your fault at all please don’t think that, its mine i forgot the condom, i’m gonna go hang with Seggy for a little. Call for me if you need anything”

Jamie got up from the bed stretching as he made his way towards the door shutting it softly. Am I pregnant? I can’t be pregnant, god i cannot believe this is happening. I want a family with Jamie but after I graduated and got a full time job and we were married, does he hate me for this?

JAMIE POV

Was she pregnant? Was it too soon to tell? This was all happening so quickly, I wanted to start a family with Katie but not so soon, i’m upset about this however i am also happy that Katie and I could possibly have a mini us I just wished we had more time to plan all of this out.

“Hey man” I sighed sitting next to a freshly clean tyler “Sorry about her throwing up”

“Its okay don’t sweat it” Tyler admitted “Is everything okay? I heard Katie crying loudly from the shower?”

“She might be pregnant” I announced “Her period is late and the last time we had sex, we forgot a condom”

“Holy shit” Tyler spoke shockingly “How did you forget a condom?”

“We were just taking a shower together and it just happened” I stated “I’ve wanted kids with her but when we get married. I was gonna propose in Sochi and I don’t want her to get the idea i’m only proposing because she could possibly be pregnant with our kid”

“You want to marry her? Chubbs I’ve never seen you fall for a girl like this before and honestly you couldn’t find a better girl to love” Tyler asked in a shock tone “Wow you love her a shit ton”

“I love her more than anything” I sighed
