Two for Two

My heart started to race, twins? We were expecting twins, jesus christ I freaked out before but this has me freaking out times two haha get it. I don’t even know if we are what it takes to raise a baby let alone two babies. I wasn’t upset or mad about this, I was scared i’m technically not even a college graduate and with no job and i’m expecting twins; I know I have Jamie to help out and raise our beautiful kids but I didn’t want to rely on Jamie for everything. Jamie was about to make his mark in the world at Sochi, and I want to leave my mark somewhere even if its in a small business or just texas. This was gonna be a lot of work, but like i’ve said before its all worth it in the end because we will be able to raise two beautiful babies together and love them with all our hearts “Katie , hello you in there?” Jamie nudged me allowing me to get out my thoughts
“This- this is amazing” I cried hugging jamie
“Were gonna have double the trouble” He laughed wiping the tears away from his face “Is it too early to tell the sex?”
“Yes, at your next appointment I believe we be able to tell then” Dr. Minoge smiled handing us a picture of the ultrasound “I’ll let you get change, congrats you two”
She closed the door, Jamie picked me up for the table hugging me up lifting my feet off the ground. The nervous slowly disappeared, they were still there but I was ecstatic for what was happening in our lives. I threw my sweat pants on once Jamie put me down, as I slipped my shoes on I turned my head to Jamie who was grinning proudly at the picture, tears started to slowly drip down his cheeks. I sat down on his lap, and played with his hair we sat there in silence smiling and crying at the very first picture of our babies.
The drive home was amazing, we both sang our hearts out to the new Kanye West album. I swear when Jamie retires from hockey we are going to tour the country and sing, sold out shows in every city. I quickly got changed realizing Tyler and Megan were BBQing
“How was the doctor appointment?” Megan asked flipping the hamburger
“Well we have some major news” Jamie said handing me a water
Megan and Tyler both sat down in the lawn chairs with wide eyes waiting to hear what they expected as major bad news “Should we both say it?” I whispered to Jamie, he nodded yes
“Tell us you idiots” Tyler said scared
“We’re expecting twins!” We yelled in unison, Megan and Tyler both jumped out of their seats running to hug us
“MORE MINI YOUS” Tyler laughed kissing my forehead “Congrats guys!”
“This is amazing, oh my god i’m gonna be an aunt x2” Megan chuckled wiping the happy tears off her face
“There's more” Jamie chuckled “Since Tyler is the godparent of baby number one, we would love for you Meg to be the godparent of baby number two”
“You got to be kidding!” Megan cried “I would love to be a godparent, this is amazing thank you so much”
The rest of the evening we all sat on the balcony eating our food recollecting on all the amazing things that will be happening this year from Megan and I graduating to the boys playing in Sochi and having the babies later on we all knew this was gonna be a crazy year, we spent the night reliving stories from the past year that we have all be together, as I sat there laughing till I was crying it made me think...I have the best friends and family I could ever ask for, I was seriously blessed for everyone that was sitting here on the balcony, in some sort of way they have individually helped me, and helped me take my guards down allowing people to see the real me after all these years. In just a matter of hours we would be leaving for Sochi, cheering on my boyfriend and best friend/Brother of Megan, life couldn’t get any sweeter than this. Megan shortly left around eleven to make sure she wakes up on time tomorrow before we leave later in the afternoon, soon after Megans departure Jamie went off to bed leaving Ty and I alone on the balcony
“You ready for tomorrow?” I questioned
“I think so” Tyler sighed “Im just nervous im going to make a joke of myself out there”
“C’mon Ty, you’ve made up for your mistakes since the boston days” I admitted resting my hand on his arm “I know the eyes will be on you off the ice, but if you show them how good you are on the ice they won’t pick out the little things you say and or do”
He smiled softly “Its still scary, thank god I have you for these pep talks. How long have you been giving me these?”
“Oh god” I chuckled “Maybe ten or eleven years now, I think I started giving them to you when we were 12”
“That sounds about right, damn” He chuckled
As we both sighed after laughing, I felt it for the first time, the first kick “Tyler, tyler hurry come feel this” I motioned him to feel my stomach, he quickly stood up from his seat leaning over placing his large hands over my sweater waiting patiently for another kick, and there it was
“Holy shit” Tyler stood up I felt the kick “I felt my nephew or niece kick for the first time”
“Its beautiful right?” I smiled tearing up
Leaning down “Hey hey don’t cry” Tyler kissed my forehead
“Its happy tears, I promise” I laughed wiping the tears off my cheek “I’m glad it was you feeling the first kick”
“Really?” He questioned sitting down
“Yeah, I don’t know why maybe because you know how long i’ve been waiting for a moment like this” I admitted “I know it really should be Jamie, Jamie is gonna be around for many of firsts and I don’t when you’ll be expecting a kid but I think with you feeling this kick now you know that you have a team of three right here cheering you on right or wrong, good or bad we will be right here helping you up when you fall and when you need a smile or laugh”
“I love you so much for this” He admitted tears started to drip down
“Why are you crying” I asked grabbing hold of his hand
“I better stop crying because when I cry you cry” He chuckled “It's just no one has ever believed in me as much as you believe in me no matter what you have seen me do, you always tell me to keep my head up high and to push through the bad because as you’ve said to get through the bad you-”
“Gotta go through the bad” I stated finishing his sentence
“Exactly” He smiled “Thank you Kat”
“Course” I smiled kissing his cheek “I better head to bed, so I can get up before noon. You coming in?”
“Nah I’m gonna hang out here for a little. You go ahead, i’ll see you in the morning. Night Katie”
“Night Ty” I said sliding the glass door closed
