“Have you seen my mascara?” Megan hollered from the bathroom

“Yeah its right here” I walked to her

“Thanks” She smiled applying the mascara “You changed the dress?”

“Oh yeah, even though we got in a bigger size it didn’t look right on my pregnant self”

“I love this dress even more” She announced Megan stood tall and proud in a long black cut out dress hugging her hourglass body, her bangs moving swiftly across her pale face each time she moved
“Thank you Meggy” I smiled “You look insanely good in this dress”

“Are you kidding?” Megan asked “All the eyes will be on you tonight, seriously when people said that during pregnancy you’ll glow they were serious, you’ve never looked better”

Looking into the mirror, Megan was right. This dress hugged me in all the right places, hiding my stomach a little my dress was a long dark blue gown, the bottom of the dress slowly alters to a lighter blue. My hair was pinned up into a curly updo allowing two small curls to fall down at either ends of my now chubber face.

“You’re one hundred percent going to be a milf” Megan smirked

“Oh of course” I posed seductively against the counter

“Who's a milf?” Tyler entered the room with Jamie

“Hm lets see whose the only one pregnant” Megan sarcastically questioned rubbing her chin “Not Jamie...not me..not you oh yes Katie”

“She is totally, but she is my milf” Jamie smirked

“You ruined it chubbs” Tyler joked “You all ready to go?”

We all headed down to the lobby meeting the rest of the team, we all filed into the limo, as everyone began opening the bottles of champagne I sat there drinking my water I was never big on drinking anyway so I didn’t mind drinking the water taking a sip from the bottle I thought “wow im going to the olympics with my boyfriend”. Reaching the gala, the red carpet was being swallowed by photographers and participants of the Olympics. “Ready baby?” Jamie asked

“I think so” I smiled, grabbing onto his hand he led me out of the limousine,

“Jamie can I get a picture with you” A fan yelled “Of course” he smiled back posing with a duck face as the young girl snapped the picture “Can I get one with you too Katie?”

“Oh yeah sure” I giggled smiling into the camera “Have a nice night”

Walking away I couldn’t stop laughing “What is it?” Jamie chuckled “You’re dying from laughter”

“I never took a picture with a fan before” I admitted “This is so cool Jam”



“Its about to get cooler” He stated with a kiss, I looked down we were about to walk the carpet in front of a thousand photographers flashing their cameras. We walked onto the carpet where a woman guided to a spot were an X laid upon the carpet, wrapping his arms around my waist smiling the cameras began flashing I swear those cameras could have blinded me. It didn’t hit me till now of how many people knew who I was, I knew people knew my name, but as Jamie did a bunch of interviews they asked me questions about my majoring, what its like dating the captain of the Canadian hockey team, and about my pregnancy too it felt so surreal

“So Katie, this year has been pretty overwhelming hasn’t it” The interviewer asked leaning in

“Oh yes it has be” I chuckled “However with it being overwhelming it has been the best year by far, I had no thought that this year I would be falling in love with the most wonderful man yet alone becoming pregnant with him. milky way and back” I looked up at Jamie

“Milky way and back?” She asked

“When Jamie told me he first loved me, he said I love you to the moon and back and I announced I loved him to the milky way and back” I smiled squeezing Jaime's hand

“Thats beautiful” She admitted “Thank you both for your time, good luck with your pregnancy Katie”

“Thank you” Jamie and I said in unison before turning around and entering the dining hall, we found our table with the team already seated chatting about who knows what “Hey cap!” Nash yells

“Hey man” Jamie says pulling out my chair before sitting down

“Insane right?” Megan asks “I can’t believe this is our lives”

“My life is better than I could imagine” I beamed “What's with you and Jason, are you guys a thing?”

“I don’t know yet, we’ve been a two dates now” Megan smiled “I think something is going to happen or at least I hope so”

The stage lit up, and the awards were about to start, the new few weeks were going to be intense so tonight was going to be a relaxed funny enjoyable night. Whoever came up with these awards had the best humor I swear from the “best gelled hair” to “Best shoes” everyone was able to be friends with their opponents. The last award was “Best Captain” how the hell were they going to pick this, looking over at Jamie who had a smirk on his face

“What are you smiling at” I whispered
“You’re gorgeous babe” He winked

“And the winner for best captain is” The lady on stage questioned “Mr.Jamie Benn captain of the mens canadian hockey team” Jamie kissed my cheek lightly and stood up proudly straightening out his suit jacket making his way up the stage taking hold of the award

“Thank you” Jamie chuckled “Wow this is so cool, thank you to the Olympic committee for giving me this award and for everyone who voted for me. I want to dedicate this award to my beautiful beautiful girlfriend Katie Murphy, she has made me into the best captain I could ever be. With her right by my side cheering me on I know I can do anything, she pushes me to try harder because she knows I can do better. I adore how emotionally strong she is, and I hope that one day I want to be as strong as her. Thank you baby, I love you and thank you all so much”

After that beautiful speech I met Jamie backstage and hugged him till we practically morphed within one another. Shortly after the awards ended, everyone on the team went off to the after party Jamie and I were both extremely exhausted so we went to the hotel. As we entered the room I kicked off my blue heels “Jeez that was fast” Jamie chuckled unbuttoning his shirt

“Im sleepy” I yawned laying on the bed still in my gown

“Here take your medicine before you fall asleep” Jamie replied with a yawn handing me my pill, I placed the pill under my tongue and took a sip of water “Lets get you out of your dress Katie”

“Too tired” I rubbed my eyes

Jamie crawled up next to be, being the bigger spoon wrapping his arms around my stomach kissing my jawline. We laid there in silence, I let out a faint smile as I began to doze off and I thought to myself this is bliss, this is where I am meant to be in life.
