“For fuck sakes” I grunted looking up the scoreboard, the scoreboard was two to two with only under a minute left. It was the gold medal final against the United States, our biggest competitors, I looked behind me to see Katie and Megan holding hands, Katies leg shaking up and down from the nerves, I sent her a smile to reassure her everything was going to be okay even out of frustration. The buzzer went off, signaling we would be going into overtime

“Boys!” Coach yelled, we all huddled around him as he laid out a new plan for us “Jamie, you’ll pass to Toews who will shoot one down to Crosby. Crosby you’ll be screening the goalie and when Toews passes it to you you’ll spin and shoot it okay?” The buzzer went off “I believe in you men more than anything. Go get em” I skated to my spot down on the ice giving a quick wave to Katie who looked almost more nervous than me
KATIE POV

“Oh my god, I have never seen you so nervous before Kat” Megan went on

“This is so scary” I proclaimed grabbing onto Megan's hand

These past days have been more than scary, I was used to being on the edge of my seats at Jamie and Tylers games but this week? My ass was barely in the seat because the games were beyond intense, plus when i was out of my seat I was yelling at ice for practically half the games. Jamie even said he could hear me yelling over any of the guys on the ice and that the guys would hear yells curious of who it was was but then quickly realizing it was indeed me. “GET IT SOMEONE” I howled pointing at the ice Sydney Crosby picked up the puck that Toews laid out in front of him doing a quick 180 spin shooting behind the goalie I was stunned I froze did we just win the gold medal? Reality hit. The arena was screaming, I felt the ground under shake as Megan hug me

“WE WON” I yelled tears falling down my cheeks

“Why are you crying” Megan laughed tears falling down her cheeks too “Wait im crying too!!”

We stood there hugging each other, crying hysterically our boys did it; they won the gold medal at the Olympics their dream was finally a reality. As the screams died down and the Americans heads hung low we made our way to the ice to great the boys who were already standing by the entry, I tried my best to shuffle rapidly through the people to Jamie “BABE” I yelled as he picked me up planting a kiss on my wet cheeks.

“I can’t believe we won” Jamie cried “Thank you for being here”

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world” I whispered into his ear, looking up I saw the coach was trying to wave Jamie over “Jamie, coach”

“I’ll be right back” Jamie stated putting me back on the ground skating off

“No hug eh?” Tyler laughed

“Come here” I laughed wrapping my arms around his neck “Congrats Ty, im really proud of you. Better than the cup?”

“Oh it could never be” Tyler winked a chuckle “But in all seriousness yes, this is ten times better”

All a sudden we hear the mic on with someone tapping at it, it was Jamie the arena went silent “Hello everyone!” Jamie smiled the crowd answered with a roar “This is an amazing honor to be here tonight winning the gold medal with the best fucking teammates anyone could have and being the cap is the icing on the cake. I have never seen a group of guys work so well together, coming together for Canada” The crowd roared again “Being the leader of one the best teams for one the best countries with the best god damn fans is more than I could ask for but there is one thing I need to ask” Jamie hushed the crowd “Many of you know my stunning girlfriend Katie, we actually met through my partner in crime mr. Tyler Seguin” the crowd roared “I wouldn’t have been able to do this without my number one fan right by my side cheering me on through the wins and through the loses, always helping me become better on and off the ice. She is the most wonderful girl I have ever encountered, I love her more than words can describe but I want to spend the rest of my life trying to describe how much I love her the more I fall in love with her, So Katie can you please come here” I felt my hands began to shake, Tyler wrapped his hand around me and guided me to Jamie giving me a kiss on the cheek and shuffling to the side “Katie Murphy, I love you to the moon and back and I want to love and be with you till my last breath, I want us to grow into a big family with our little ones” He got down on one knee, the crowd roared even louder, even the Americans roared along “Will you marry me?”

“Ye-yes of course of my god” I cried, Jamie sprinted up and picked me spinning me around. He gently put me down getting back on his knee “Tyler the ring please” Tyler skated over with the ring, Jamie reached out for my hand and gently placed a 14K white gold ring on my finger “I love you Jamie”

“I love you more” Jamie said standing up hugging me “Lets get out of here”

“Please?” I chuckled

He took the mic back turning it on “Thank you all for being here to share this special moment with me and my now fiance” He grabbed my hand and we rushed off the ice

“So polite to the fans, shows how canadian you are” I chuckled

“Now this is truly the icing on the cake eh?” He admitted with a kiss, knowing the eh would once again make me laugh”
