Going for Gold

JAMIE POV

The past two weeks were hell, we had six games, losing 4 of them and Katie could barely talk because she was constantly studying for her finals Tyler was being a complete an ass so he wasn’t much help either. I had no fucking clue what was up with him all I knew is I couldn’t wait for Katie to come back to dallas for two months. She would be staying at the apartment with me, this time there would be no guest room and she would be coming to all the home games with Megan, this was about to be the best two months ever.

“Ugh FUCK” Tyler groaned throwing his water bottle across the living room causing me to get out of my dream

“Holy shit man” I yelled “What has gotten into you?!”

“What's gotten into me?” He mimicked “Hm i don’t know maybe the fact that I might not have a spot on the Olympic team!”

“Oh cut the shit Ty” I barked picking up the water bottle he threw

“Easy for you to say, you’re gonna be the captain since crosby is out. You got everything going for you, leading in goals, captain of one of the best NHL teams, and you got the best girl out there” Tyler admitted putting his head into his hands sighing on the couch

I couldn’t lie I had the best girl out there, she was perfect but why did that matter to him. “Calm down man, your the second leader in goals after me of course and ever since you left Boston your career has been insanely good” I hollered into the fridge grabbing two beers “Hey even if I am captain, don’t you think I can get you a spot on the team and I do have the best girl”

Tyler took the beer from my hand “Can you even do that?....Chubbs you know it, shes the hottest” he smirked

“The sex is pretty hot too” I smirked back

“See!” He chirped “You get to have postgame sex”

“So can you!” I laughed “You just choose to do it with different girls every time”

“Yeah but I don’t know I want a girl I can settle with and go slow with” He sighed taking a big gulp from his beer “

“Wait am i hearing this correctly?” I asked confusingly “Mr. Tyler Seguin number 91 wants to be committed to a girl. My oh my i never thought I would see this day come. What made your mind take this direction?”

“Eh, its nothing” He breathed “I’m gonna go lay down”

TYLER POV

I paced my room back and forth for hours on hours, you know what changed my mind Jamie. You really want to know? Its Katie, seeing her with you kills me. I never thought I would care about her in this way, I thought that setting you two up would be cool I didn’t think of anything about it. Shes so beautiful, she is who i want to be committed to, she never thought of me in that way, she won’t ever think of me in that way. Here I am though realizing I fucked up, god how did i still have feelings for her? Its been about 7 years, yeah she was first time and I was her first time too but why did that have mean something? They weren’t kidding when they said you’ll remember your first time especially when your best friend is dating her and is your sisters best friend.

“fuck” I sighed out loud “I love her” looking up at my ceiling I knew i was fucked
