Hall of Fame

A week has passed since the season opener against the blues. Since then the Stars have completed a 3 game 5 night road trip which took us to Nashville, St. Paul and Winnipeg. Ranking up 4 out of 6 points, with a loss only to the Predators who scored late in the third period for the lead. Tonight was the first of a 2 game home stead where the boys would play the Penguins, and the Kings.
“So how many times did you stop by my apartment last night Tyler?” I asked with a grin as I meet the boys at the rink for morning skate. Yesterday I might have let it slip that my friends from college were coming to the game tonight, and for some reason Tyler desperately wanted to meet my friends, he even invited us over to his house, an invitation that I declined.
“Only once,” he shrugged as ran a hand though his hair.
Benn shook his head and held up his hand, “five times,” he mouthed and I smiled, for some reason that didn’t surprise me. I knew that Tyler would do that, which is why yesterday I spent as little time in my apartment as I could. I don’t know why, but I wasn’t ready for my friends to meet the guys yet, especially not Tyler.
“I still don’t see why I just couldn’t meet your friends last night.” Tyler shook his head as he laced up his skates.
“Because I needed some girl time.” I told him, which was defiantly true after that road trip.
“You needed some girl time?” He looked at me as if that was the dumbest thing I have ever said, and let’s just say it definitely wasn’t.
With a roll of my eyes I answered him as he started to lace up his other skate. “Yes, I needed some girl time, because in case you haven’t noticed, I am a girl.”
“Oh, trust me,” Rousell laughed as he passed us with a wink at me, “he’s noticed.”
I bite my lip with a deep breath as I felt my cheeks heat up. You’d think I’d be use to the comments by now, considering they have been happening more and more since the Rousell sweater indicant. “Well I guess I am kind of hard not to notice.” I smiled, but figured that was my cue to leave.

So I did keep my promise after practice and skated with Tyler, who I was sure was having fun showing off for my friends who sat in the bleachers. So as he skated along the boards juggling the puck or passing it to himself off the boards. I came up with an idea, I’ve always wanted to do this, I thought to myself as he came down the boards once again, and I skated across the rink in an attempted to hip check him, but naturally missed and just ended up with my back pinned against the boards. I was laughing as he looked down at me, a smirk on his lips.
“What are you doing,” he asked, his eyes eye laces almost brushing his cheeks as he look down at me with a smile.
“Attempting to hip check you,” I told him with a grin as I tried to keep my breathing even as he stood over me. It’s just because you’ve been skating, I told myself.
“Well you failed,” he gave one of his cocky smiles as he studied me.
“Did I,” I questioned with a smile as I kicked the puck out from between his legs. “I got the puck,” I joked as I pushed around him.
He stared at me for a second longer before he skated after me. It didn’t take him very long to catch me and the next thing I knew we were both fighting for control of the puck.

I should have known that wouldn’t go unnoticed by Tori and Vanessa, for when I skated over to the door to let them down to the changing room they both had devilish smiles on their face.
I swallowed the lump in my throat as I introduced them to Tyler, who had the cheesiest smile plastered on his face.
“So you’re a Star’s fan, eh?” Tyler beamed as he studied Vanessa’s shirt after he dropped her hand. “Who’s your favorite player?”
I bite my lip holding back the laugher because I knew as always, Seguin was hoping she’d say him, and I knew for Vanessa is was kind of a sore spot because…
“Well it was Dillon, before he got traded, might I mention right after I bought this shirt. So now I guess you can say my favorite player on the Stars is Jordie Benn.”
Tyler looked at me with a shake of his head. I shrugged my shoulders, “didn’t think she was really going to say you, were you?”
He rolled his eyes before turning back to Tori, “are you a Star’s fan too?” He asked, probably noticing she wasn’t wearing any Star’s apparel.
She shrugged, “I was focused into this.”
“She likes Eakin,” I smiled, but couldn’t hold a straight face as she shuttered with a shake of her head. It was nothing against Eakin, she just wasn’t a big fan of red heads.
“Well your favorite player is Lusic,” her attempt at a comeback only made me laugh harder.
“Your comeback is invalid if you can’t say his name right,” I told her in between my laughter. Oh, I miss these girls.
“Does she mean…” Tyler fumbled his brow as he looked at me and I nodded, knowing exactly what he was going to ask. It was no secret that I didn’t like the Bruins so I know it was pretty obvious who she was talking about, even if she didn’t actually know how to say Lucic, no matter how many times she tried to use that as her comeback.
I took a deep breath trying to calm my breathing, “Well would you like to meet the rest of the guys?”
“Yes,” Tori jokily spat, “I would like to meet French Fries.”
Tyler looked at me, one dark eyebrow raised.
“Rousell,” I chuckled. I thought that I had a knack for giving nicknames, but Tori defiantly had some good ones.

Notes

So I don't know how many of you are still actually reading this, but I thank you, and I'm sorry for not posting last week, some things came up and I could not get on a computer. I shall also mention that I will probably not be posting next week because I will be traveling. I would also like to thank you all for baring with me, I know it is starting off a little slow, but I am trying to figure out how to work everything out. This is going exactly how I expected it to go.
