Arrow Hawk: Birth of the Hockey Avengers

Scorpion and Brooke grunt and struggle in the tight grip. Zvezda, Captain Blackhawk, Arrow Hawk, Sabrebow and Psychica try to fight the telekinetic hold on them as they are restricted by Vanek’s powers. Brooke kicks back at the villain, narrowly missing his leg. Scorpion focuses on trying to shove the arm around his neck away.

“Now, now, there’s no need for violence Princess.” Vanek nuzzles the side of her face, causing her to crane her neck to the side as best as she can.

“Leave her alone, Vanek!” Scorpion snaps. “I won’t let you hurt her!”

“Fair enough,” Vanek spits and shoves Brooke to the ground. “I can just use you...spy boy!” He looks at Zvezda and smirks, grabbing Scorpion’s arm as Brooke shakes her head and looks up at Scorpion, who winks at her. Maybe Seggy here can help me to take over the world!

“NO!” Zvezda and Brooke yowl.

“Tyler!!” Brooke gets to her feet and pulls at Vanek’s arms, trying to get Scorpion free. She is eventually backhanded away and Vanek lifts into the air with Scorpion. The telekinetic bind holding back the heroes is broken. They are finally able to move.

“Let me go, Vanek!” Scorpion shouts, squirming in the hold.

“CB!” Zvezda screams. “Help me out!”

The two winged heroes take to the air, zooming after the villain. They circle around Vanek, preventing an escape. Vanek grins and loosens his grip on Scorpion.

“Scorpion hang in there!!” Zvezda shouts.

Vanek grabs Tyler by his wrists and allows him to dangle down. The villain smirks. “I may not be able to go anywhere, but I can still drop Tyler here.”

“No drop Tyler! Need him!!” Arrow Hawk exclaims, aiming his bow and arrow up at him.

“Val! Don’t!” Scorpion screams.

Suddenly Iceshot, Chaos, Portal, Showtime, and Star Vision arrive on the scene. They skid onto the street. Chaos aims a beam at Vanek, and it hits him, causing him to drop Scorpion. The spy plummets toward the ground. Portal teleports over to him rapidly and catches him, disappearing into the air.

Vanek teleports out of the circle and Zvezda and Captain Blackhawk stop circling and return to the ground. Portal reappears with Scorpion and then Vanek, quickly behind him. Chaos charges the villain and rams into him allowing Portal to get Scorpion to the group. The spy gets his guns out, ready in case he needs them. Instead Vanek shoves Chaos against the wall of the building and pins him there.

“No need to get a hothead Chaos!” Vanek sneers and keeps him telekinetic pinned to the wall as he walks back toward the group. The remaining heroes, plus Brooke form a line and face the villain.

“Отпусти меня, ублюдок! Научитесь бороться честно! Если вы не можете справиться мой хаос, возможно, научиться! Не обманывайте свой путь! (Let me go, you bastard! Learn to fight fairly! If you can't handle my havoc, maybe learn to! Don't cheat your way out!)” Chaos snarls in Russian, struggling against the powers keeping him in place.

“SILENCE RUSSIAN!” Vanek howls, flicking his hand out toward the line of heroes and controlling a chunk of car debris behind them. He lifts it into the air and then lets it fly at the trapped hero, who suddenly gasps. It hits him in the head and knocks him unconscious instantly. Vanek lets the telekinetic bind on him stop and allows him to crumple to the ground in a heap.

“Vladdy!” Zvezda and Portal shout.

Chaos remains on the ground, bleeding from the side of his face.

“Maybe that’ll teach him to not talk back!” Vanek snarls. “Now, where were we?”

Iceshot looks at the Tampa Bay forward and suddenly feels a tinge of sympathy. He snaps his head to Vanek and throws his arms up. He channels his powers and the sudden built up anger and yowls, “Du kommer aldrig att komma undan med det! (You'll never get away with that!)”

Ice shoots at Vanek from Iceshot’s hands and hits him square in the chest. Vanek staggers backward in shock. He looks at Iceshot in stunned silence.

Zvezda smiles, catching the small trace of worry and fear. “Keep on him Gabe!! He may be immune to all of us...but he isn’t to you!”

Iceshot blasts him continuously, pushing Vanek into a retreat mode. However before he can get away, the Colorado Avalanche forward creates an ice construct and swings it at him. Vanek attempts to fling things at him and get into his mind, but his panic fills him and his own mind is stuck on, ‘Gabriel’s going to win and kill me!’

Iceshot raises his sharp icepick weapon and jams it into Vanek’s chest with a loud battle cry that echoes off the buildings around them. Vanek freezes in place at once, frozen solid like an ice statue. Iceshot is sprawled on him, breathing heavily and attempting to calm his racing heart and his fury. He slides off and steps back. He is in shock. Had he just stuck up for an arrogant Lightning player?

Portal comes over to him. “Gabe…” He trails off, too shocked to speak.

Iceshot holds his hand out and looks at the fallen hero on the ground. “Tavs, I forgive Vladdy...I was in the wrong. It took me until now...with him possibly dying to see that...” He then pads over to Chaos and drops down to him. “Vladdy, I forgive you, can you do the same?”

Chaos remains unmoving. Blood continues to pour from the wound on the side of his head. The crimson stains his blond hair and looking at the scar, it appears deep and serious.

“Vladislav Namestnikov, you cocky, arrogant son of bitch Russian don’t you dare die on me!” Iceshot screams at him, shaking him.

Chaos finally blinks awake and groans. “What the hell Gabriel?”

“I saved your ass, you’re welcome!”

Chaos blinks and looks at the iced Vanek. His stern frown twists into a sweet smile and he turns back to Iceshot. “Guess he’s not immune to ice. And I heard you, I can be a little less arrogant and...I forgive you for tripping me up on the ice. We can be friends.”

“I’d like that, Vladdy. I’ll try to keep my emotions in check during a game!”

“You’d better. The NHL doesn’t wanna see chaos!” Chaos remarks with a wink.

“Of course. Let’s get that wound cleaned up...buddy!” Iceshot helps Chaos to his feet and aids him over to Portal and the others, who are shocked at the sudden change in the two heroes.

“Yeah, we’re friends now,” Chaos barks. “Deal with it. I got Ice Boy’s back here now. He’s pretty ‘swedet’ (sweet)!” He winks at Iceshot, who laughs at him.

Brooke and Portal tend to Chaos’ wound and stop the bleeding with Zvezda’s help. While the two hold onto the Lightning forward, she puts her hand to his head, hovering it just over the wound and channels her powers. Her hand glows a bright pink. The blood appears to dissolve and the cut seals, becoming just a scar.

“What about Vanek statue?” Sabrebow questions, pointing at the chunk of Vanek in the center of the road. “No leave him here like that!”

Zvezda turns from Chaos, who smats Portal’s hand off of him, and she walks forward. “Zady, you got a point there.” She puts a hand on his shoulder, with a dip of her head. “Maybe...I’d put him with Canuck and PyroHab and Kopitar in the Black Hole...but that’s a dangerous move.” She rounds the villain. “Gabe, before you go, maybe just finish the job…”

“Smash him into ice cubes?” Iceshot asks, turning Chaos over to Portal.

“Yeah.”

Iceshot cracks his knuckles and storms back over to the solidified villain. He pauses, looking at the shocked, but still villainous face of the man. “Stay away from Earth and the Hockey Avengers, including Chaos!” With that he ices his fist and bring it into the statue, breaking it at once and sending tiny particles flying out everywhere.

Zvezda faces all the heroes. “Good work Hockey Avengers!”

Iceshot looks at Portal and Chaos who smile at him.

“We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the Avalanche’s amazing captain!” Chaos states. “Maybe the clunk on the head was good for me though.”

Scorpion walks up to Chaos. He places a hand on his shoulder. “You allowed John and I to escape. In doing so, you took a bullet for us technically.”

“Here here for Chaos and Iceshot!” Brooke shouts out.

They all chant Vlad and Gabriel’s names.
