Somebody to Love

He's home and I'm wrapped in his warm, comfortable and strong arms; I missed this feeling.

"Mmm..." I sighed.

He proceeded to kiss the back of my neck.

"I love this." he said.

"I love this too."

"What do you wanna do today?"

"I have no idea." I said yawning.

"Sleep, apparently." he said laughing.

"No. That's for certain."

"Well, when did you go to sleep?"

"As soon as the game was over, but I'm always tired. It doesn't really make a difference."

"We need to change that."

"But how? That seems impossible."

"It is possible and I will help."

We pulled apart and sat up on the couch. I looked at him in disbelief. How was he possibly going to help me? I didn't know what to do that I haven't tried already. Tried going to bed earlier and getting up early. Fail. Tried to eat better. Fail. Tried to exercise regularly. Epic fail. But how well could you exercise when you work five days a week from 8:30 to 3 PM?

"What do you have in mind?" I asked turning to him.

He smirked.

"I found a list of 12 natural things you can do to stay awake online. I bookmarked them and I can print them out for you."

I happily nodded then gave him a nice kiss on the lips.

"I would love that. Thank you."

"You're welcome."

He went to go do that as I headed to the kitchen for something to eat. It was one and we had yet to eat lunch. I searched the refrigerator and quickly discovered what we were gonna eat. I was going to make grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup without asking his preference on what he'd like to eat. I couldn't wait to see his reaction. I turned on my i-Pod that was on our player for in the kitchen. What came on was Bootylicious by Destiny's Child. I nearly laughed, but I let it play as I cooked and danced.

I sang as I put the sandwiches in the skillet. Just as I was about to stir the soup, I felt hands on my hips.

"Hi." I said holding in a laugh.

"Hi. So, you're too bootylicious for me?" he said with a smirk as I turned around.

"Yes. As a matter of fact, I am." I said laughing.

He stopped my laughing by kissing me. He moved his hand down my leg causing me to moan. I put my hand in his hair, somehow pulling him closer. After a moment, I realized I had to check the sandwiches.

"I'd love to continue, but I'm hungry and I'd like for these not to burn." I said after I pulled apart.

"Fine with me. I'm hungry too."

"I'm hoping you were, but I wouldn't have minded eating two." I laughed.

He laughed too.

"Well, do you want more than one?"

"I do actually."

"Ok. So, you can have these two and --"

"I'll take one, you take that one and I'll come out and make the other one."

"But--"

"No buts. I can come out here and make another grilled cheese when I'm ready for it. I'd love for us to eat. Together."

"Just let me finish these and scoop some soup into bowls and I'll be in."

"I'll grab us something to drink. Dr. Pepper?"

I nodded.

Only a few minutes later, I turned off my i-Pod and was making my way into the living room to eat.

"Here's your food, sir. Do you need anything else at the moment?" I asked like I was a waitress.

"Not right now, but thank you very much."

We couldn't help but laugh. I am rarely in a bad mood when I'm with Marc.

"This is delicious. I haven't had this in so long. Thank you."

"You're welcome." I said kissing his cheek.

"I have to ask, is there anything else you'd like to do today?"

I bit my lip and thought for a few seconds. What did I want to do?

"Well, tonight, I know what I want to do." I said suggestively.

He smirked right back.

"I want to do that too."

After we finished eating and I thought for a while, it suddenly came to me.

"Ice skating?"

"I'm game."

"Yay!"

Once I put the dishes in the sink, I headed upstairs to change. I haven't gone out ice-skating since before I moved to Pittsburgh, so I was pretty damn excited.

"What's the smile about?" he asked coming into the room.

"I haven't been ice-skating since the winter before I moved here."

"I'm looking forward to see you skate."

"You are going to enjoy it."

"Oh, I am. Am I?"

"Yes. Now, shut up and let's go."

Several minutes later, we were at the rink and I was ready and roaring to go. I felt like running down the hallway and onto the ice, but I knew that it wasn't a good idea. If the guys don't do it, I shouldn't do it either. I skated onto the ice like I'd been doing it everyday, not like I hadn't skated in a year. I decided to do a figure eight and show off.

"You think you're something, don't you?" Marc asked catching up to me.

"Yes. Yes, I do."

I skated away from him quickly, hoping he would chase me...and he did.

"You're not gonna catch me!" I shouted.

"We'll see about that."

He ended up catching up to me.

"Damnit."

"I win." he said with a smirk.

"It wasn't a contest."

"I know."

"You're such a dork."

"But, I'm your dork."

"You're right about that."

I giggled before kissing him. I had always dreamed of us kissing on the ice; sure, it wasn't after a game, but that didn't even matter. I was here with him.

"I love you." I said after a few moments.

"I love you too."

"Wanna get back to skating?"

"Yep. Let's go."

For an hour, we goofed off out on the ice and skated together around the rink before heading home. After a nice dinner of alfredo and a romantic movie, we moved our way to the bedroom.

"This was the funnest day I've had in quite a while." I said laying my head on his bare chest.

"You can say that again."

"I could say that I can't wait to work tomorrow, but that's not true." I said laughing.

"You are funny."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

It was the perfect ending to one of the best days in my entire life.
