Somebody to Love

That week passed by quickly and now, I'm due to get my cast off.

"I'm so excited!!" I said shaking Marc who was sitting beside me at the doctor's.

"I know. I know." he said laughing.

"Ms. Leyton?" the doctor asked coming into the room.

"Hi." I said trying to act normal, but that's a hard thing to come by with me.

"Are you ready to take a look at your leg?"

"Absolutely. I've been waiting for this forever."

He let out a laugh. After we went down and took an x-ray, we came back into the room and looked at it, as well as feeling my leg.

"Well, your leg healed very well over these seven weeks. It looks like your cast is ready to come off."

I couldn't stop smiling.

"Thank you. You have no idea how happy I am right now."

"Don't mention it. Now, before you go, I have to ask you to be extra careful now walking around, ok?"

"Of course."

We left and I was free to walk on my own.

"What do you feel like doing?" he asked as I spun around in the parking lot.

"I don't know. I really don't. Anything. Well, not anything...you know what I mean." I said nearly falling.

Fortunately, Marc was there to catch me.

"Don't scare me. When the doctor said to be careful, this isn't all that careful."

I laughed and kissed him.

"You are silly." he said laughing.

"Thank you."

I laughed harder.

"I can't believe this is you sober."

"Well, since this is a nice day, do you wanna ride the incline and walk around?"

"That sounds like fun." he said wrapping his arms around me kissing my neck.

"Now that, can wait till later."

He pouted. It was cute.

"Anymore of that and we won't have our fun later."

"Ok. I'll stop." he said shaping up.

"Good boy." I said kissing his cheek.

Then, off we went. We drove to the incline, paid for a ride and went up. The view at the top, as always was amazing; I was proud to live in this town.

"Do you wanna take a picture?" he asked.

"I do."

I stood in front of him as he wrapped his arms around me. A quick second later, the camera was put away and we began our walk on Mount Washington.

"So, how excited are you to start back at school?" he asked as we sat down for lunch.

"Beyond excited. I've missed my kids so much."

He smiled and kissed my cheek.

The rest of the day went pretty well, then I had to get my rest for my first day back. I came back eager and with a huge smile on my face.

"It's so nice to see you back." Maddy said hugging me in the teacher's lounge.

"It's nice to be back. I've missed everyone."

I ended up being welcomed back to every member of the faculty which had me a bit overwhelmed; it just shows you how great this school system is.

"I just can't believe I'm back here. It's so weird. Who knows how the kids are going to react."

"I think they'll react well. I bet they've missed you just as much as you missed them."

I nodded and smiled.

"You're right."

Minutes later, I was back in my classroom and getting prepared for my first day back. It wasn't too long when I heard them come in.

"Miss Leyton!! You're back!! We missed you!!" many of them squealed.

"I missed you guys too." I said with a smile.

"Why were you gone?" Annie asked.

"Well, about six weeks ago, something really bad happened to me and I broke my leg, but it took a long time for it to heal."

"Is it all better?"

"It is. It is."

"That's good. We don't like you being hurt." Mikey said.

My kids were the sweetest ones around. About twenty minutes later, there was a knock on the door interrupting me talking to them.

"Excuse me for one second, please."

"Bella Leyton?"

"Yes. That's me."

It was two dozen roses.

"These are for you."

"Thanks."

Walking over to my desk, I read the card to see what Marc said.

Got a surprise for you later. I love you! - Marc

I almost giggled.

"Who are the pretty flowers from?" Missy asked.

"My boyfriend."

"He must be a great one if he sends you that many flowers."

"He is."

"Can we meet him?"

"Of course, but I have to ask the principal first. I'm sure my boyfriend would have no problem with that."

All of their mouths were wide open before I heard them squeal and yell.

"Shh! We're gonna get in trouble if you keep making noise." I said with a finger up to my mouth.

"Oops...sorry."

When I exited the doors of the elementary school and was walking towards my car, Marc came up behind me kissing my cheek.

"Surprise!" he squealed.

"Hi. It's nice to see you." I said laughing.

"Did you enjoy the flowers?"

"Of course and so did my class."

"Did they?"

"Mmhmm...and they wanna meet you."

"What did you say?"

"I'd have to ask the principal and that you'd have no problem with it."

I turned around and looked up at him.

"How'd you know that I'd have no problem with it?" he said with a serious look on his face.

I gave him a look to see if he was pretending; he wasn't. He was serious.

"Because you're Marc-Andre Fleury. Did you just meet yourself yesterday?" I said laughing and wrapping my arms around his neck.

He just smiled and blushed.

"I love you." I said kissing him.

"I love you too."

"Eww!!!" I heard from some kids being picked up by their parents.

I laughed into his chest.

"Alright. Let's go. What about my car?"

"I got that taken care of. Maddy's boyfriend is coming to pick it up."

"I'm assuming they knew then."

"You assumed right."

"So, is there more of a surprise?"

"Maybe..."

He drove me home and came inside with me.

"I'll be right back. I just need to change."

He nodded and off I went. I opened my closet to find a bag, which obviously contained a dress, right in front, along with a pair of shoes. My heart pounded as I unzipped the bag. It was the dress I looked at with Maddy just two days ago, along with the shoes. I turned to find Marc behind me; I hugged him tightly.

"I love you." I said into his chest.

"I love you too. You like it?'

"I love it. When did you get it? I looked at it only two days ago."

"After work yesterday, Maddy told me about it and I told her to go buy it."

"I love her. I love everybody! No, I'm just kidding. I don't love everybody."

He laughed.

"I made reservations for dinner. I was hoping you could wear this."

"Of course I'm gonna wear it."

A couple hours later, I showered, changed and finished getting ready. He came to my house about ten minutes after.

"Come in!"

I walked out into the living room as he closed the door. He was speechless.

"Well, how do I look?"

"You are breathtaking."

I blushed.

"Thanks."

"My pleasure." he said coming to kiss me.

We kissed for about twenty seconds.

"Ready to go?"

"Yep. Let's go."

Within ten minutes, we arrived at the restaurant and I couldn't feel more special. So many eyes were on me and Marc surely had eyes on him, but he only had eyes for me and I only had eyes for him. Always have, always will.

"Whatcha thinking about?" he asked.

"Nothing." I said smiling.

"Yes it is if you're smiling."

"It's how eyes are on me and eyes are on you, but we only have eyes for each other."

"That is something." he agreed with a smile of his own.

The night was amazing, just like my first day back on work although they were amazing in two totally different ways.
