Somebody to Love

It's Tuesday night and I'm beyond ready to watch the game. There are no further worries and Melanie has begun looking for an apartment. She's happier then she has ever been and it was a great feeling knowing how much better she is now. She also has stopped going to the tanning salon where had been going for twice a month for years; that was even better. My eye looks worse than it did last time and I'm wondering about what Marc's gonna think. He's probably gonna be more worrisome about me than he was the first time. My nose looks pretty nasty itself too. I came into work yesterday and each class kept asking me about my face. I told them that someone just hurt me and I made sure he wouldn't do it ever again; that's all I said since they didn't need to know anymore. I wasn't thrilled about wearing the eyepatch again, but I'll have to deal with it and I'm okay with that. Maddy, Melanie and I are watching the game here just like I planned on doing since we all have work tomorrow and can't go out to a bar.

"Are you ready for some hockey?" I exclaimed running into the room.

"Yes. Yes, we are." Maddy asked as the both of them laughed.

We ordered pizza an hour later, since the game was in an hour-and-a-half. Once the game on and we had our pizza, I thought about how our boys could go up 3-1 in the series and take it Thursday night at home. The first two periods couldn't have been crazier. Both teams combined for nine goals. We scored six goals while the Senators scored three. I couldn't believe it...well, maybe I could. The Pens are an amazing and challenging team to play against.

"This is insane. I mean, how many goals are they gonna score in the third?!" Melanie exasperated lying back on the lazyboy.

"Hopefully, the Pens will score more and dissallow any more Ottawa goals."

Turns out we scored one goal and the Sens scored one more as my boys beat them 7-4 and took a stranglehold on the series.

I don't even know if I can imagine the look on Marc's face right now and the look on his face when he sees mine. The following morning, I felt two arms wrapped tightly around me and lips against the back of my neck. I smiled.

"Good morning." I said yawning.

"Good morning." he said kissing my neck again.

I moved a little and he removed his arms as he knew I had to get up for work. I groaned and moved onto my back, but I still didn't wanna get up.

"Don't wanna get out of bed?" he asked knowingly.

"Yeah." I said moving hair out of my face.

I sat up after Marc did. He turned to look at me, touching my face. I wanted to look away, but I didn't despite me not wanting to see the look on his face; it was gonna happen either way. He lightly touched my nose before going up to my eye. I flinched. I didn't even know how I saw out of that eye; it was that swollen.

"I can't believe he did this."

I could feel a tear run down my face. I moved closer and he held me tightly as I cried into his shoulder. I wasn't expecting to do this, but I did; it's too hard for people to control their emotions, after all.

"I really wish you were here that day." I whispered into his shoulder.

"Me too. I love you." he said stroking my hair.

"I love you too."

"How are you feeling otherwise?"

"Pretty good. I still don't feel like going to work though."

"You don't have to if you don't wanna."

"I have to. I was gone all that time after I broke my leg. I can't miss anymore time with my kids and plus, school ends in less than two months. I can handle it."

"Are you sure?"

"100%."

"I'm curious. With how bad your eye is, do you drive or does Maddy pick you up?"

"She picks me up everyday. I just feel better going to school with her than driving myself."

He nodded and kissed my cheek.

"How's Melanie?"

"Better. He's completely out of her life and she's changing her life around. She says that she has never been happier in her entire life." I said as a smile gradually appeared on my face.

"There's that smile I love so much."

I blushed and turned to kiss him.

"I'm going go shower then get ready." I smiled before he kissed me again.

"I'll be in the kitchen when you're done."

"You don't have to cook or anything for me..."

"No. I want to."

I nodded and made my way to the bathroom. Half an hour later, I was ready to go to school. I heard the sound of Melanie walking into the kitchen when I came down the stairs.

"Good morning, Bella."

"Good morning, Melanie."

"How did ya sleep?"

"Great. You?"

"The same." she said with a bit of pep in her step.

"Why so happy?"

"I don't know. It's just one of those days, you know?"

"Yeah. I definitely know." I said smiling and looking at Marc who was facing the stove.

I silently told Mel to be quiet as I snuck up behind him, wrapping my arms around his stomach.

"Hi." I said.

"Hi." he said laughing.

"Whatcha cooking?"

"Blueberry pancakes."

"Mmm..." I mumbled into his back.

They both laughed.

"You're funny." he said turning around.

"I know. People tell me that all the time." I joke all the while laughing.

He picked me up and kissed me.

"I love you."

"I kn-"

I just couldn't stop. He tickled me.

"I love you too."

"Thought so."

I pushed him.

"Anyway, I'd like to introduce you to Melanie. Mel, this is Marc."

They greeted and he flashed that flawless smile he has.

"Well, Melanie, has Bella been on her best behavior?"

I pushed him again.

"Don't be an ass."

I could tell he had something on his mind, but he didn't say anything. I was gonna get it out of him later.

"She's been well-behaved. Trust me. Although, she gets a little crazy during hockey games."

"That's an understatement."

I growled.

"Bella...behave." he said scolding.

"I hate you guys." I said pouting.

"You love us." Mel said.

"Especially me." he whispered so low that she couldn't hear.

I started smiling like a fool again. I kissed his cheek for that.

"You're lucky you're so cute."

He blushed. Fifteen minutes later, we were done eating and I waited for my ride. Melanie had gone back upstairs to shower for work, while I on the otherhand, watched tv in the living room with Marc. I insisted he go back to bed, but he wanted to wait till I left.

"Do you have any plans for today?"

"Just to rest and wait for you."

"Tell me. What were you thinking about earlier?"

"In the kitchen?"

"Yeah."

"I like it when you misbehave in the bedroom."

"Can we do some of that tonight?" I asked with a smirk.

"Of course we can."

I was surprised I wanted to with how I am right now, but who cares. This is my boyfriend we're talking about; the most wonderful man on Earth.

"You seem happy." Maddy said as I got into her car.

"I am. I'm really happy." I said waving to Marc.

"Did you get laid?"

"Excuse me? No and before work...on a weekday?"

"Well, there's something about that smile."

Might as well tell her.

"I will be tonight though." I said smirking.

"Tonight? Set time and everything?"

I could've pushed her for that, but I obviously didn't since she was driving.

"No, but it will be tonight. Anyway, I introduced Mel to Marc and he flashed that infamous smile of his. They're friends already. They kinda ganged up on me." I said laughing.

"What do you mean 'ganged up' on you?"

"Marc asked her if I was well-behaved while he was gone. Of course, her answer was that I was well-behaved except about me being a little crazy during hockey games. He agreed saying that was understatement..."

I finished it and she laughed but smirked when I told her something he didn't say till Melanie went up to shower.

"That's hilarious. He's wonderful. Speaking of Mr. Wonderful, what did he say this morning?"

"Well, he gently touched my nose and then my eye, saying he couldn't believe he did this to me. I broke down and cried into his shoulder as he held me close."

She just smiled.

"I don't know what else to say about him that hasn't already been said."

"I don't either. I can just say that I'm happy and lucky to have a man like that in my life." I said smiling like a fool.
