A Second Chance at Love

We had been home for four weeks and things had been going wonderfully. Claude and Megan had moved into my house and I had moved completely into Danny's. It was nice having a whole hockey team to move things around and paint the twin's room.

Right now it was still a neutral color. I couldn't decide how I wanted it painted. The guys had left on a nine day road trip. They had only been gone three days. It sucked without Danny, but having Pam and Megan around made things easier. We got together and watch the games each night they played.

Tonight we were going to attempt to teach Megan how to have phone sex and watch them play the Panthers. She was surprised when she found out Pam and I did it on a regular basis. She finally admitted she would like to try it, but didn't know how and didn't want to sound stupid.

I stocked up on ice cream and once Ryan's bedtime came we tried to explain it to her. I was trying to tell her to visualize what she wanted to do, close her eyes and then verbalize it. "Come on, I need an example." she whined.

Pam obliged. After describing sex with Jeff for ten minutes, hell I was even flustered. "My god Pam, no wonder why playboy follows you like a puppy dog and put a ring on it so quickly." I laughed and Megan looked perplexed.

"Ok, so I so can't do that." I just cracked up, "trust me hun, nobody's sex life is as exciting as Pam and Jeff's Just call him, lay down in bed and relax. It will all come natural and he will love it." The girls left and I eventually feel asleep.

I woke up two hours later in pain. I knew what it was right away and couldn't figure out why it was happening. I was taking it easy lately and had done nothing all day long. I called Megan and she ran across the street quickly. "Meg I need to go to the hospital, can you take me?" I asked.

I called Chris's wife Lauren and we dropped Ryan off there. She promised to take him to school the next day. I tried Danny and Claude's cell and they were both off. I called Mike's and it rang a few times. I was in tears by the time he picked up. "What's the matter Rainy?" He said, barely awake. I cried harder as another pain hit me.

"Shit, Mike I'm having contractions, I think I might be in labor. I'm about five minutes away from Virtua hospital now."

He sighed. "OK, I'm going to go wake him up now. Make sure Megan has her phone on her so he can call her. You know he is gonna freak out. I love you bestie, everything is gonna be ok."

Megan talked to Danny on the phone who was currently en route to the airport. The Doctor examining me seemed hopeful he could stop the contractions and said he was happy I came in right away. After he gave me some meds, things slowed down.

I ended up falling asleep after a little while. When I woke up, he was sitting beside me with his head against me. "How are you feeling love?" I let him know I had a headache and I was scared.

"God, Raina, I was so worried about you. I took the first flight I could, but it was into Newark. I just got here a little while ago." He kissed my forehead. "The Doctor should be in to see you in a little." He talked to Megan earlier and told her they would wait and see how things looks I you woke up. He looked horrible. I knew he hadn't slept. I felt so bad, like I did something wrong to make this happen.
