Intrigue

Saturday was family day for us. Alex and I got up and made breakfast together, Madison still sleeping. “What do you want to do today?” she asked and I thought about it for a few minutes.

“We can do the zoo if you want. She will get a kick out of that.” Alex nodded. We sat down and ate. Madison woke up and I got her out of the crib, changed her and put her in her high chair.

Her new favorite trick was trying to climb out of the chair. “Madi, no. Sit that behind down” I said as she pushed herself up and giggled. Alex just laughed which made Madi squirm even more. I fed her breakfast while she was in a half-standing position.

“Brent, we need to plan a birthday party for her. She is about to be one.” I just groaned. I kind of had forgotten all about it. Her birthday was next week.

With Alex’s trial and the craziness of the season we hadn’t really talked about it. “Let’s just do something small Alex.” She smiled. “Sounds good Daddy.”

Once we finished eating I called Jon and a few guys from the team. I also called Ericka and Corey as well. We ended up meeting up at the zoo with Ericka, Corey, Kaner, Jon, Sharpy, Abby and baby Isabella. The first exhibit we went to was the monkeys. Kaner jumped up and down with enthusiasm as they swung on the ropes.

“Yo bro, he yelled as Jon walked up. Your brother David is waving” he said as he pointed to the large gorilla sitting by the glass.

I held Madi on my shoulders and was trying to teach her how to say monkey which kept sounding a lot like “yummy”. We spent a few hours laughing and walking around, then left and decided to go and get something to eat at a nearby Italian restaurant.

All ten of us were seated. A brunette walked up and introduced herself as Ava, our waitress for tonight. Kaner and Jon both stared and I cracked up. “Seriously guys, leave her alone. Especially you Kaner.” I said pointing at him.

The poor girl brought our drinks back and looked scared. I don’t think she had any idea as to who we were. She looked young and innocent and Kaner was clamoring for her attention. He ordered two different drinks, sent the soda back saying it was flat.

Jon finally apologized and yelled at him to stop. “How old are you, ten? Just talk to her. Don’t make her work hard.” Alex said from the end of the table right after Ava had walked away. Ava looked quite annoyed when she returned with our food. She handed it our wordlessly and the minute she walked away Jon chased after her.

Once he returned to the table, I asked him what was up. “Nothing, just apologized for boy wonder over here.” He said throwing his napkin back onto his lap.

Madi got fussy during dinner and Jon grabbed her and took her outside just telling us to get his stuff wrapped. Kaner left a huge tip on the table for the waitress. I guess he was feeling bad for annoying her. We got outside and Jon and Madi were leaning against the car. She was sound asleep, her head on his shoulder. He handed her to me and Alex gave him a kiss on the cheek. Everyone split up and headed for their cars.

“Jon is so freaking cute with kids. Hopefully he will meet someone soon.” She said quietly as we walked to the car.

I just smiled. “Maybe he already has baby. I think he may have asked the waitress out. Want me to find out?” I asked and she nodded. I dialed Jon and she drive home. “Yo man, so I saw the smile, you taking her out?”

He laughed. “Yep, she is coming to the game tomorrow. I am going to leave her a jersey to wear too. Do you think that is gay?” he asked.

“Dorky, but not gay. It fits your personality. You are good. I will let Alex know.”

I hung up the phone and looked at her. “Guess you are playing welcoming committee again. Ava is coming to the game tomorrow afternoon. Jon is all excited. Leaving her a jersey and all.”

She snorted. “That’s fine, I like having new girls to hang around with. Gives me people to talk to. Ericka seems awesome so far. Can’t wait to get to know Ava.” She said as we pulled into the driveway.

We got upstairs and she gave Madison a bath while I put away the stuff we had bought at the zoo. She put her in bed with her bottle and came crawling up onto the sofa with me. “God my feet are killing me. Remind me to wear sneakers to the zoo next time. Sandals were such a bad idea. “

She jumped up quickly and startled me. “Ughhh I think my jersey is in the laundry basket still. I need it for tomorrow. Don’t want the poor girl being the only one wearing a jersey besides Madi. You know how the females are in the box.” She said and wrinkled her nose at me.

“Get your butt over here. I play hockey for a living Alex, I must have about thirty various jerseys just hanging in the closet, just pick one and wear it.”

She just grinned. “I guess that was kind of stupid.”

“Go get comfortable and come back. You still got jeans and all on.” I said and she gave me an evil grin.

“I forgot I got you a present yesterday” she said and she ran towards the bedroom. About twenty minutes later she returned.

I nearly fell off the couch checking her out. “Damn it Alex, you look hot. Are you trying to entice me?” She just grinned and she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the bedroom.

She sat me down into a chair near the bed and climbed onto the bed alone. I went for her and she smiled. “Oh no, you watch.” She slid the lace straps to the bra down her arms and then unhooked it causing it to slide off completely. I rubbed the back of my neck roughly.

She was making me lose my mind. She was currently sliding the lace left on her body down her thighs. She ran her fingers down her tummy and dipped them inside of her, pulling them back out and slowly licking each one. I gave up on self-control and stood up, quickly removing the basketball shorts and throwing them aside.
