You Make Me Want To

12: Mean To Me

They got to some little restaurant. It didn't seem very busy. It was Italian. She chuckled. Jamie eyed her as he put the car into park. He clicked a button, locking her door. She rolled her eyes, turning to glare at him as he unclasped his buckle. He leaned forward, kissing her before he opened his door. He locked all the doors and walked over to Addie's. She was leaning over to undo her buckle as he opened her door with the key. He pulled it open and smiled at her. He extended a hand to her. She took it, and they walked into this restaurant together.

Jamie hovered behind Addie. He wrapped his arms around her waist while they waited for a hostess. He kept kissing the top of her head. She just looked around the restaurant. It was cute. It was a small, little, Italian joint. Jamie obviously liked Italian. It was Addie's favourite as well. She rested against him with a sigh. Her head was resting just on his chest. He was a bit taller than her. They weren't waiting long but Addie was hungry and tired.

"You're gonna love the food." He whispered to her.

"More than your ravioli?" She teased, looking up at him.

He nodded. "My mom's ravioli, but yes."

"Jamie!" A small, Italian man called as he walked over. "This your girlfriend? Very beautiful."

"I agree." Jamie beamed as Addie stood up straight.

"I have your special table set, right this way." The man chimed, guiding them to the table.

Jamie held Addie's hand the entire walk. It was a bit of a walk to get to a table. When they reached it, Addie understood why. Jamie had gotten them a table on the roof. They could see across Dallas. It was a small place, but it was set in such a perfect location. She looked at Jamie in shock. He just avoided eye contact with a smile on his face. He pulled out her chair. She sat and the two tucked her back in together. He sat across from her.

"What can I get you?" The man smiled.

"I'll have the chicken Alfredo." Jamie said, not even opening his menu. "With a bottle of red wine."

The man looked to Addie. She was glaring at Jamie over her menu. She read over it. "I'll have the penne with bolognese, please."

"Okay!" The man cheered, grabbing the menus. "Wine will be up shortly."

"You are the most ridiculous man I have ever met." She spat as soon as the man was out of sight.

"Yeah, but why this time?" Jamie smirked, drinking from his water glass.

"This view is incredible! This place is adorable! I can't believe how much thought you actually put into tonight." She breathed.

He reached out for her hand. He grabbed it, stroking it with his thumb. "I did this because you deserve it. A beautiful view for a beautiful girl."

"How many other girls have you used that line on?" She cocked a brow with a grin. "All the ones you brought here before?"

"I've only brought my mom here, Addie." He rolled his eyes. "You're special to me. I need you to believe that."

She nodded slowly. "You make me feel like I am, Jamie. I've never doubted it. I just like to bother you."

"You don't have to try to bother me." He shrugged, a smile slowly spreading across his face. "And I've barely dated any girls that I wanted to spend time with as much as I want to spend time with you."

The wine came shortly after that. They had two glasses and then out came their authentic Italian. Addie let out a soft moan. It was unbelievable. Jamie smiled as he ate his. Both were in euphoria with their food. They shared a bit but each went back to their own. Jamie told her a few stories about absolutely nothing, and she did the same. They were just comfortable around each other. As they finished eating, Jamie was reaching into his freakishly deep pockets.

"When our plates get cleared, we're exchanging gifts." He told her.

He placed a wrapped box on the table. Addie reached into her purse and set her wrapped box on the table as well. Her box was slightly bigger. Jamie cocked a brow. She smiled innocently. There wasn't anything but tickets to the Seahawks game in the box, but she couldn't make it seem like that. The little man came and took their plates. He left the bill for Jamie, just so he wouldn't have to make another trip. Addie didn't blame him.

"You have to open my present first because I come first alphabetically." He stated, sliding it over.

"'A' comes before 'J'." Addie argued.

"'B' comes before 'R'." He rolled his eyes. "And I was born first, so open it."

She shook her head, grabbing the box. It was flat and a perfect square. She unwrapped it and saw it was a jewelry box. Her eyes snapped up to Jamie. He was smiling. He pointed her back to the box. She opened it slowly. It was a silver bracelet. There was nothing on it. Her eyes shot up to Jamie. She was confused. He held one finger out. He dug around his pocket. He tossed her another small, wrapped box. She glared but opened it.

"This better not be some fucking gag," She stopped as she looked in.

Charms. There were a bunch of charms for the bracelet. She slowly picked one up. Jamie pulled his chair over so he could explain. He took the charm that was between her fingers. It was in the shape of Texas with a heart over Dallas. She looked to him for an explanation.

"Where we're always together." He said, taking the bracelet to put it on.

The next one was in the shape of Vancouver Island. The heart was where Victoria was. She looked at him. He took it and placed it on the bracelet.

"Where you'll always find me if we're apart." He spoke quietly. The next had Ontario with a heart over Brampton. "Where I'll always find Tyler." He stated. "I mean you." He smirked, placing it on the bracelet.

The next two made her chuckle. One was just the Dallas Stars logo and the second was the number fourteen. Those were givens. She shook her head at him. The last two were letters. 'A' and 'J'. He took the J first, sliding it onto the bracelet.

"'J' is so you'll never lose me." He told her as he reached for the last charm. "And 'A' so you'll never lose yourself." He placed it on the bracelet then put the bracelet on her wrist. "And I'll buy more as we make more memories and learn more about each other."

Addie couldn't hold back anymore. The tears rolled down her cheeks. She reached out for Jamie, wrapping her arms around his neck. He pulled her onto his lap, holding her tight. She cried into his shoulder as she straddled him. This was the most thought anyone had ever put into a gift for her. It was so meaningful. She loved it. Tyler was right. She did cry, a lot. She wiped her face as she sat back so she could see him. He smiled at her. She grabbed his face, giving him the most passionate kiss she could give. He kissed back just as passionately. They broke apart slowly.

"Thank you. Thank you so much. This is such a beautiful gift. I love it, Jamie." She told his as she held his face.

He reached up and wiped her eyes. "You deserve it. Now show me my gift, I can't handle the suspense any longer."

She stood up, grabbing the box. She sat on an angle on Jamie's lap. She handed him the box. He wrapped one arm around her while the other held the box. He unwrapped it with both hands. Addie was nervous. Her gift didn't have nearly as much thought. He looked at the plain, brown box. He looked at her in confusion. She smiled. He opened the box. He looked down and saw a piece of paper sitting in the box. He looked at Addie again.

"Take one out!" She yelped.

"One?" He furrowed his brows as he reached. He saw the Seahawks logo and his jaw dropped. "You got me Seahawks tickets?" She nodded. "Holy shit, Addie!" He exclaimed, pulling out the next one. "Why are there so many?"

"Well, I'm coming,"

"Obviously."

"And Jordie," She dragged out. "And Tyson."

"Wait, you got Tyson a ticket?" He gasped. "And Jordie?" She nodded for both.

His hand pushed her face to his by the back of her neck. He gave her another passionate kiss. She smiled the entire time. He let her go slowly. He just kept staring at the tickets. He had never been to a Seahawks game. The games were just at inconvenient times for him. He had been a diehard fan all his life. He looked up at her.

"I've never been to a Seahawks game. This means so much to me." He told her sincerely.

"Oh, baby," She laughed, playing with the hair on the back of his neck. "Even I have and I'm not a Seahawks fan."

"Who are you a fan of?" He cocked a brow. She covered her face. "Is it the fucking 49ers?"

"No, the Raiders." She whined.

"Why?" His face twisted.

"My dad owns part of them so he's always been a fan, so I am too." She explained.

"So you'll be cheering for the Seahawks at the game we're going to, right?" He said, pressing his lips to her collarbone.

"Yeah, fuck the Broncos." She scoffed.

"Perfect. All I could ask for." He smiled, kissing her once again.
