"Do you ever wonder if you are adopted?", Taylor Benn asked her best friend Mila Krancic. "I mean sometimes I feel like I really am, I look nothing like my parents", Taylor frowned. Days off school were welcome, but not when it was raining and all there was to do was hang out at home. Not that Columbus offered much to do for pre-teenaged girls, anyways.

"I know for a fact I am NOT adopted because I am the whole reason my parents got married!! You can she the bump that was later me in all the wedding photos. You do look like your mom, except remember she is 52 and your are 13!!!", Mila reassured Taylor.

Mila thought long and hard about what she just told Taylor, she knew for sure that her mom was her mom, there wasn't any doubt about that, but what about her dad?

Mila had thick, blond wavy hair and deep set blueish eyes. Her dad, Rich, was very tall with dark brown straight hair and chocolate brown eyes. Mila wasn't all that tall, something she thought she got from her mom, Violet, but she wasnt short like her mom either, who stood at 5'1. Violet also had brown hair and hazel eyes. Everyone said that Mila looked just like Rich's mother, but she never saw it. Mila got tired of her over analyzing and invited Taylor to go up to the attic to look at family pictures.

"Look, I will show you my parents wedding album and you could see for yourself", Milla said as she pulled out a dusty, white photo album. Violet and Rich have been divorced for eight years, but the album lives on. Taylor wasn't really paying attention to the album Mila was looking at, she was busy snooping at Violet's albums from her high school days.

"Your mom was so tiny, Mila!! Had no idea she went to Slovakia!! Isn't hat where your dad's family is from?", Taylor asked as she was looking through an album decorated with ice skates.

"No, my grandparents are from Croatia and she went to Slovakia for a figure skating competition the summer before I was born", Mila explained as she looked over the album, stopping at a picture of Violet with a picture of a boy with bleached blond curly hair.

"Looks like she found herself a friend too. That guy in the picture you saw? He is in all of them! Hey wont it be funny if that guy turned out to be your real dad, not Rich" Taylor teased as she leafed thru the album.

"No that would be horrible, imagine how my dad would feel!! " Mila sadly said as she leaned over and looked at the pictures. A creepy feeling swept over her and she had to look away, that "guy" had her same mouth, same messed up teeth she had before braces and the same eyes.

"Sounds like his last name is Gaborik and he played hockey. OMG!! MIla!! What is he is a famous hockey player? He totally looks like you!!!!!! Your were born in February 2000 right, this is dated June 1999!" Taylor squealed.

"Hmm I was a month early and my mom did say that she and dad broke up for a bit the summer before I was born" Mila's wheels in her head started turning as she looked at the smiling teenager in a gold hockey jersey looking back at Violet. Mila put the album down and nervously headed for the stairs back to her room with Taylor in tow.

Taylor immediately pulled out her lap top from her backpack and "Googled" the last name Gaborik are squealed, "OMG!! Mila he is a famous hockey player and he totally has that smirky smile of yours! His first name is Marian! He grew up to be so handsome too and fixed his teeth"!!!! Oh wait it gets better, he just got traded to the Blue Jackets from the NY Rangers a couple of days ago!!! As luck would have it, we have tickets to there Meet the Players event! My parents and Jack (Taylor's older brother) cant go, so it's going to be you and me, girl"

Mila didn't want to see an updated picture of her possible father, instead she felt sick to her stomach. How could she possibly be lied too? Both Violet and Rich had to know the truth, but she didn't want to confront them just yet, what she wanted to do is see Marian and just casually ask him if he remembered Violet. That and see if he would get the same reaction Mila did when she saw his picture.

So I tried to post this on Wattpad, but the story didnt show up in search and felt the rating system was too restrictive!! I have written about Gaborik before (Empire State Nights on Mibba). Am I obsessed or what??...lol Have a Sidney Crosby one brewing in my head, not a fan of his, but I came up with an idea for a story about him at the gym the other day!! In the mean time enjoy this story!
