Beautiful Goodbye

You Again

It was only a short walk from my apartment to the garden. My new boss introduced me to my new assistant named Amber. She was really sweet and seemed alot like me. She also knew her way around the garden and that was more than I could say for me. "So do you like Boston so far?" she asked cheerfully. "Yea its seems alot like Chicago." I replied. Amber was a pretty girl with bright red hair, and big green eyes. She had on a black peplum top and mint green chinos. "This is your office," she said pointing into a rather large room with a beautiful view of Boston common. "Wow" I said, probably sounding stupidly starstruck. "We dont really spend alot of time in our offices," she explained, "We're usually in the locker room, or down on the ice with the players." She lead me down the hall and into a staircase. "We take this way before games, its an easier route to avoid all the crowds." We climbed down the three flights of stairs, and came out a door inside the tunnel that led out to the ice. "Kinda cool," she said "It makes me feel like Batman!" She joked. I laughed at her excitement. "So tonight will be your first interview, I drop off all your paperwork before the game." I didnt know it then but Amber would become one of my closest friends. She continued showing me around the garden and by the end of a few hours, I had a pretty good idea of where things were. She introduced me to a few of the other Journalists. "This is Carrie, she's the marketing consultent here, we all call her Mom" she said pointing to a tall blonde woman with dark brown eyes. "Welcome to the Garden!" She exclaimed, "We've all heard so much about you, you truly did great work for Chicago." I rememered my old job in Chicago. I had become so close with so many of the players and I began to miss my secret handshake with Pat Kane, Joey the jr. reporter, and all the people of Chicago who used to tell me they were as big of fans of my with the team, as the team themselves. But I would work my way up at TD Garden. Carrie was a kind woman and a mother of four boys and a little girl, she had pictures of them plastered all over her office. All five of her kids played hockey to no surprise. "And that," Amber said in a whisper, "Is Lauren Turner, she is primarily a puckbunny. She knows absoultley nothing about hockey. The only reason she got the job is because her father works for the Garden." I hated when girls worked in sports just to meet attractive players. Certainly it was a perk sometimes, but I had a genuine love for the sport of hockey and I could tell Amber did too. "New girl!" She shrieked flinging herself around. I tried not to give a dirty look but sometimes I just could control my own face. She was completley fake and I could right off the start. She had an orange spray paint and obviously fake giant boobs. She had on a hot pink tanktop, a see through white sweater, and tan miniskirt. "Im Lauren!" She shrieked, "Welcome to the Ga-a-den" ugh I thought to myself. Trying to be polite, I extended my hand "Hi, I'm Brooke." It was awkward for a moment so Amber cut in, "Well, Brooke and I have to get down to the locker room." She grabbed my hand and we rushed away from Lauren. "She's.....different" I said trying to be nice. "Very different." Amber joked. We were walking past the entrance when I was shocked by a familiar face. It was like slow motion, my ex boyfriend. Tyler Seguin. We made eye contact and he looked shocked. "Hey Tyler," Amber said. He paused for a long moment before uttering, "H-hi Amber." He quickly walked away before Amber could introduce us.
