The Gentle Giant

I gave Bella a call once Andrej left for the afternoon. I wanted to go shopping and out to eat before we even left for the game. She met up with me at a little maternity clothes store in town. I tried on several outfits and found a few I liked. I wanted to get something cute for tonight’s game, especially since Andrej was going out of town for a few days. We also hit up some stores for Bella so she could get something for tonight.

We were going out with the guys afterward and even though I didn't drink anymore, I was looking forward to it. After shopping, we went to my apartment to get dressed. I threw on some music and we got ready. The fitted maternity jeans I bought were comfortable and I put on a maternity shirt. It made me look really pregnant, but Bella insisted I looked good. I put on heels but kept them low. “So how do you not hook up with like all of your brother’s teammates?” she asked laughing.

“Well, some of them are married, so they are easy to stay away from, some are too young for me and some I’m just too close to.

She just giggled. “Ok, so I am excited, let’s go to dinner.”

We left the apartment and drove into South Philly stopping at an Italian restaurant to eat. Dinner was nice. The guys weren’t brought up again which was surprising. I knew she was excited to meet them.

We got to the arena just in time for pre-game skate. We grabbed drinks and I took her to the seats Mike had gotten us. They happened to be right near their bench which made me laugh. “I’ll introduce you to my sister in law Raina right after the first period ends. She is sitting up there.” I said, pointing to the box across the rink from us. Danny skated by and lifted his hand to say hi. I blew him a kiss and he laughed.

Jeff came over and banged on the glass to say hi. Bella squealed next to me and I reminded her that he was married, and just had a little baby boy named Michael about a week ago.

“I know I know, I couldn’t help it.” She said, grinning.

Richie and Kris skated towards us and I had to laugh, both of them staring at Bella waiting for a reaction. She just smiled and turned towards me. “Wow, the guys are friendly huh?” she asked.

We were talking when I heard a tap on the glass. I looked up and Andrej was staring at me. He mouthed the words “I love you” and skated away smiling.

“Whoa did he just say what I thought he said. So he is the baby daddy you are taking things slow with?” I just laughed.

“Yeah, we are trying to work on things slowly and not rush anything. Long story, let’s just say I wasn’t quite ready to settle down.”

We focused our attention back on the ice as the game got underway. I prayed for a win so they were in a good mood when we went out tonight. We were up 2-1 at the end of the first and I took Bella up to the family suite. We walked inside and I got swarmed by the boys. “Aunt Dani, please can I stay over your place tonight?” Carson asked.

“Not tonight pal, but any other night you have off the next day is fine. I already have a friend out with me. “ I reached for Daniel and gave him a kiss.

“So how are you feeling?” Raina asked feeling my stomach.

“Not too bad, just getting my appetite back. I’m so tired all of the time though. Otherwise good though and things are going well with him so far too. “ Raina gave me a big smile.

“Well that is good to know. Your brother asks me all the time.“

I looked up at Bella. “Hey Raina, this is Bella. She works in my office. I figured bring her, torture our guys for a while.”

Raina cracked up. “She sure will. Has Mikey boy seen her yet? “

Bella had a huge smile on her face as soon as his name was mentioned. Raina threw me a thumbs up as we walked out of the box and back down to our seats.

The second and third periods flew by and the game ended as a 3-1 win. We sat in the stands and talked for a little before we headed down to the locker room.

I walked in ahead of her and yelled “females coming through”. Of course there were some cat calls, whistles and scurrying for clothes. I walked in and almost smacked into Jeff’s bare behind.

“Seriously dude, why does it take you so long to get dressed. Put some clothes on.” I pulled Bella in with me and introduced her to everyone at once. We stood over to the side where Kris locker was so we didn’t keep getting knocked into. Kris was busy rapping to himself and getting dressed, Mike was still doing interviews.

We went outside the locker room and played with the babies until the guys were ready. I gave Danny and Raina a hug goodbye and promised next weekend I would take the kids all weekend for them. Andrej yelled he wasn’t gonna be around and Danny cracked up.

Andrej, Bella, Mike, Kris, Ville, Carcillo, Claude, James and I left to go to a club in Olde City that the guys frequented. Being out was nice, but Andrej and I mainly stayed cuddled up in a booth in the corner of the club. Bella was out dancing most of the time. Andrej wasn’t much of a dancer and I really didn’t feel like getting all icky. We laughed at the guys dancing with Bella. Most of them didn’t have any rhythm. Kris, Mike and Claude were the only ones that could hold their own in that department.

Finally after an hour or so I had enough. I let Bella know I was leaving. She only lived about three blocks from the place. I made Mike promise that she would get home safe. I gave the guys hugs and Andrej and I walked back towards his apartment.

He put his arm around me loosely. “Dani, you really do look beautiful tonight. I love the fact you are showing more and more. It’s amazing to see.” He stopped me and looked down at me and smiled. “I love you, I’m glad things are getting better between us.” He said leaning down to kiss me softly. “Come on, let’s go home.” he said, pulling me by the hand.

We spent an hour just sitting on his balcony, me in his arms watching the city below us. Everything was so comfortable with us for the last few days.

We finally made our way to the bedroom around two o'clock or so. His flight wasn’t until the afternoon so we could sleep in. We fell asleep rather quickly. I woke up around eight o’clock or so and he was already up and in the shower.

I laid on the bed and waited for him to come out. He finally opened the door, face lathered with shaving cream. Steam came rising out and he looked at me and gave me a goofy smile, running over and rubbing his face against mine.

I stole the towel and he ran back into the bathroom, grabbing a wet towel and throwing it at me. I tossed a container of baby powder at him and he sprayed me with the shower head, soaking me and the bed in the process. He cracked up as I screamed, then came running at me and dove into bed with me.

I used his blankets to wipe the rest of the shaving cream off of his face. He went for my neck and I couldn’t help but warn him. “Don’t start unless you intend on finishing my dear.” I said.

“Oh I intend on finishing and enjoying every moment of it.” He said sliding my wet shirt off and kissing my tummy which was becoming quite well-rounded. I missed the closeness of being together with him. He held me tight as he slid inside me kissing my forehead hard. Afterwards, we laid together on the bed for a while just catching our breath.
