The Art of Hockey(#2)

Call me James

SOPHIA'S P.O.V
I dipped the tip of my paint brush into the cool blue blob sitting on a plate surrounded by other shades of blues and blacks. My eyes focused on the canvas standing tall in front of me, I let my hand draw the curve of the chin slowly followed by another brush a little bit smaller which focused on the irises surrounding the pupils of the eyes.
I was working on a mixed media painting that consisted of a face that was drawn with different shades of the same colors that surrounded it. So far it looks good, I smirk to myself proud of my work. But something is missing... Hmm...
I spin on my heels and start digging through the card board boxes that held some of my sentimental things that I brought to America with me. A blanket my mum knit, a old sketchbook, a photo album, and there it is! I smile proudly lifting up my stereo from the cardboard treasure chest, sneaking my hand back I grab my phone and plug it in. After finding a plug, which was hiding behind five old paintings, I choose a random play list and was pleased to hear Escape by Rupert Holmes come on. Nodding my head to the beat I turn it up all the way, and my hips started to sway to the music. I held up the brush and start working on the outside colors shading them from dark to light.
"If you like pina coladas," My voice getting lost with the music while my mind got lost with the painting.
JAMES' P.O.V
I was surprised when Dakota texted me asking if I could bring lunch to Sophia cause she'd forget to feed herself, cause she was to busy painting. Her exact words I believe were, "A hungry Sophia is a mean Sophia, and I don't want to come home to a mean Sophia so please bring her lunch for me." I'm not gonna lie it made me laugh, but in all seriosness I'm happy to have an excuse to see her.
I pull up to the old brick building and can see blurred figures through the big dirty windows. I grabbed the bag of Chick-fil-a and approached the door. She said the spare key would be under a plant. I look in front of me at nothing, no plant, nothing. Sighing I start looking around desparatley trying to find the plant Dakota was talking about. Just as I was gonna give up I see on the edge of the window a tiny plant in a small little brown vase. Finally, I sighed as I lift it up to see the silver key gleaming back at me and opened the door.
"Welcome to the Hotel California." It hit me like a hip check but what hit me harder was the gorgeous red haired girl in front of me swaying her hips to the music as she painted something that looked to good to be real.
Her tiny body stood on a step stool to reach the the top of the canvas, and that made me chuckle. But my amuesment was soon cut short when I saw her dancing was leading her to fall on the cement floor.
Dropping the fast food bag I ran out to catch her before she cracked her skull on the ground.
SOPHIA'S P.O.V
It happened so fast one minute I was jamming out to the Eagles and the next minute I was falling, I watched as my brush made a horribly ugly black stroke as I went towards the floor. And right when I thought I would be dead I'm cushioned in big strong arms. Confused I look up to catch James' face looking worriedly at me.
"Are you ok?" He asks worry layered in his tone.
"I'm fine." I state a little out of it.
His face came closer to mine and I got lost at the sight of him. His eyes, his lips, his everything. His hand came up to caress my face slowly reaching to the back of my neck as he brought our lips closer. And when they touched it was like nothing else in the world. The way he gently carresed my neck with his hands, as my own reached up to grip onto his shirt deparatley trying to pull myself closer to him. His tounge wets my bottom lip as he asks for an entrance that I swiftly accept. His hands move slowly down my back as he passes my hips and grips my thighs moving me into a straddle position on top of him. He squeezed my thighs and rubs his hands up and down my legs as his tounge searches the crevices of my mouth.
I sigh into him and pull away as we finally make eye contact, "Wow." I say breathlessly and he just stares at my flushed face.
"Yeah." He agreed his eyes looking down our bodies pushed together.
"I um brought you lunch," He states, "Dakota asked me to, she said Chick-fil-a."
At the sound of food I instantly jump up and find the bag, amercing myself in the scent of chicken nuggets.
"Thank you, Neal." I say momentarily forgetting what just happened, smiling up at him as he walked towards me.
His fingers carresed my cheek as he pecks me on the cheek and whispers into my ear, "Call me James." And then he walks out the door leaving me red and flustered with just my chicken nuggets to consult my dilemma.
