The Art of Hockey(#2)

Butterflies

DAKOTA'S P. O. V.
'Oh girl you shining like a 5th avenue diamond' blared my alarm clock at 8;00 am. God I hate morning practice! Once I rolled out of bed, showered, did my makeup and threw my hair into a messy bun, I went and woke up Sophia. We sat around the island in my tiny kitchen, ate our eggs and I told her about the guys and how excited I was for her to come see her first hockey game in a couple days.
"Good luck today sweetie." I said after dropping her off at her job interview "Text me when your done we'll go grab lunch after practice."
"Thanks D. I'll text you later." said Sophia in her awesome Irish accent.
I drove to Consol Energy Center got out of my car and ended up walking in the door with Tanner Glass.
"So how's the family doin' I haven't seen them in forever?!" I asked Tanner.
"They're doing really well. Sawyer is getting so big. I hate it he's growing up so fast!" said Tanner as we walked through the doors to the Pens locker room.
"Ya I bet." I said "I'll see you after practice."
"See ya."
I sat at my desk in the training room until after practice was over, listening to my music when Evgeni Malkin walked through the door. Ever since I started working with players I promised myself I would never like any of the guys, but every time I saw him my stomach did flips and I kinda smiled like an idiot.
I turned of the music, "Hey Geno. What's up?" I asked standing up, trying to contol the butterflies in my stomach.
"I come for icepack for my knee." he said in that fucking adorable broken english.
"I can do that. What happened?"
"I turned wrong in practice." he said looking down "Just a little hurt."
"Good. We need you healthy for the game tonight!" I said referring to the game against the Rangers.
After handing him the ice pack he left to go change out of his under gear and I stuck around for a little bit only having a couple guys come in for icepacks and things like that.
"See you guys tonight. Make sure to kick some ass!" I yelled into the locker room.
"Thanks D. We will!" the guys chimed in as I walked out the door into the frigid Pittsburgh air.
