With the "Enemy"

teve Mason would never admit to anyone he liked Jackie Giroux. For one thing his teammates would never let him live it down, and her brother would most likely kill him. When Claude first became captain and the team finally met his sister, he made it very clear that she was off limits, for everyone. So when he started getting butterflies in his stomach every time he saw her, Steve knew he was in trouble.
It's not that he wouldn't want to date Jackie, it's just that he would most likely die before their first date. That and the fact Claude was his captain and Jackie was off limits to all the 'idiots' in the Flyers locker room.
Steve didn't blame Claude for the way he acted about his sister. If Jackie was related to him, Steve would be protective too. Jackie was beautiful and smart and she played hockey, she was the last thing from a puck bunny. That was something Steve always wanted to see in a girl.
Besides being his captain's sister, Jackie also worked with Boston Bruins, that was a problem in Steve's eyes. She was surrounded with idiot men hockey players who have egos bigger than their pants. Granted, it would be the same if she was working with the Flyers but at least if she was working with Philly Steve could keep an eye on her.
He was thinking all of this on his way to the stadium and Steve Mason was about to do the most stupid thing he has ever done. Not only could he get very hurt, but it could hurt a friendship he has created. Steve was sure this wasn't going to end well but he knew he had to do it.
Steve walked into the Flyer's locker room and was met with yelling.
"Listen, never in a million years would my sister want to date you!" Claude snapped at Jakub Voracek.
"You don't know that and all I asked for was her phone number!"
"Jackie hates your guts, more than she hates Patrick Kane, and that is hard to do."
Steve was about speak up when he felt his phone vibrate. He looked to see Jackie had texted him asking him to ask Claude: When are they playing in Boston and if he wanted to meet up. She texted again explained Claude wasn't answering his phone.
"Hey, Claude. Jackie wants to know if when we go up to Boston next week if you want to meet up. Also you probably have fiveish missed texted/calls," Steve said.
"Tell her sure and that I didn't know she texted is because I've been trying to keep Jakub from getting her phone number."
"Why does Mason get her phone number but I can't?" Voracek whined.
"Because Jackie gave it to me."
As the players got ready for practice Steve went to talk to Claude. He was probably making a big mistake, but Steve could care less.
"Hey, Claude do you know if your sister is seeing someone?" Steve bluntly asked.
"Where you going with this?"
"I mean is she dating some stupid Bruin or what?" Steve asked, trying to beat around the bush now.
"Not that I know of, why?" Claude asked.
"Just, making sure she's not getting involved with those hockey players up in Boston," Steve laughed, "You now she's like my sister, don't want her getting hurt."
"Yeah, she can handle herself. Oh, and Mase," Claude said getting up to head to the ice, " Stay away from my sister."
"Got it," Steve mumbled, following his captain to the ice.
