Only Temporary

"And now we move back to child's pose to end the session. Remember to breathe- deep breaths in through the nose and out....hold for ten...nine...eight...seven...six...five...four...three...two... And one. Slowly bring yourself up." She and the class stand up at the top of their mats to do one last routine. Bringing their arms in front of them, palms together, "Namaste." They all say while bending at the hips.

"Good job everyone! I'll see you next class on Wednesday. I'm also now teaching a Pilates and hot yoga class so make sure you check it out."

Cyan says as the yoga students roll up their mats to leave. She talks to some students, telling them how much they've improved or where to improve. The few guys in the classes she teaches (though the number is steadily increasing) ogle over her while she talks but she doesn't notice. Cyan is a yoga instructor in Pittsburgh- Good Vibes Yoga in the Strip District. She turns off the soothing background music that wrapped its warm, comforting arms around the industrial loft turned into a yoga lover’s paradise. It's been renovated so that there are four rooms- one for hot yoga, and the others for regular yoga. She's tall, a former athlete and dancer. Her muscles are toned from kickboxing, which she went to the Olympics for and won silver for the US - first African American to do so. At the age of 18. But injuries hindered her for going for gold a second time. She also ran track and played field hockey, kicking ass at both in high school and in college at the University of Michigan where she studied biology. Now in her second year of med school at the university of Pittsburgh studying to be children’s doctor. She has long brown hair she's died maroon that counters her brown skin perfectly. With light almond shaped brown eyes, heart shaped full lips; she is something out of a dream. Not that anyone has noticed. Curvy and dangerous, she truly is an Amazonian warrior as her mother loved to call her.

She chugs her bottle of water and wipes her self with a towel. "It's not even hot and I'm sweating," she murmurs to herself. It's summer in the 'Burgh, where it's never hot. Sometimes one forgets that it's summer. She slips on her Nikes and grabs her bags and yoga mat heading for home. Her apartment is two stories underneath the yoga studio. She is part owner with her best friend, Blair, who has known her since birth. Their mothers practically raised each other. Since she has summer classes off, she's taking full advantage of her time to work.

She gets to her apartment, turning the key slowly. It's a cute place. Big with very little wall dividing the space like any ordinary loft. Exposed brick, and big glass mirrors where at the top of her list when liking for a place and she found it. It was an old rundown place: paint chipping, poorly insulated. Shitty bathrooms and kitchen. But with a little TLC and DIY she made it her hippie fantasy. She takes a hot shower then changes into a McCutchen jersey and denim shorts. Pirates baseball cap and white all star converse on she grabs her keys, bag and ticket heading for PNC Park.
