Twenty Questions

Chapter One

Friday nights alone had gotten to be a habit of Willow’s ever since her photography jobs picked up. Her work was good and Willow prided herself on the fact that most of her jobs came to her by word of mouth. Prime jobs with the Pirates and with a few with the universities around Pittsburgh were some of her newest additions to her resume, but it was one particular charity event that she landed with the Penguins that would change her world.

Willow twirled the ice cubes around in her drink, mixing the Ketle One and lime twist around in the glass. It was late and she had just gotten home from a charity event that she was shooting at PNC Park. The unseasonably warm temperatures of a late May night left her only wanting a stiff drink, a shower and to call it a night. Just as Willow was making her way to the couch, her phone let out the beep that there was a text message. She grabbed her phone to see who the message was from and was curious, but pleasantly surprised by the messenger.

So, how was the shoot?

With half the glass of vodka streaming through her system, Willow bit her lip and decided to text the messenger back.

It went really well. It made a lot of families happy.

Willow took her glass and moved to the kitchen. She placed the phone on the counter and refilled the glass with a little more ice and a little more vodka. The phone beeped again with another incoming message.

All done for the night or do you want some company?

Feeling a little lose and adventurous, Willow typed in her response. It was definitely not a way she would normally answer a text.

Well, I was going to get a quick shower…wash the smell of PNC Park off of me.

She hesitated. Was this too much? They were just having fun and after all, this was just texting and a little harmless flirting. She pressed the Send button.

Willow grabbed her phone and her drink. She took them with her to the bedroom. She had the full intention of grabbing a shower and putting on her most comfortable shorts and t-shirt, when the phone beeped again.

You probably still smell like vanilla and flowers even with being at PNC all night. Bright Crystal is your scent, right?

Willow raised an eyebrow. She couldn’t believe that he remembered. He had asked her what scent she wore when she was helping to adjust his boutonniere the night of the Plates and Skates Charity event. The event when she first met Sidney Crosby.

Notes

Okay, this is going to be more than just a one-shot. I worked on this over Labor Day and it kinda grew. Hope you enjoy!

Comments

Sorry about the shortness of the chapters, but I've been juggling quite a few things lately, including doing photo edits from the Pens Training Camp. I was there on Sunday and I'm going through the 600+ pictures I took. Seeing Sid and the guys in person will definately lead to some longer chapters in the near future so just bear with me!
