A few hours later

Tom's POV

How could she leave like that? I was pacing when Latts came home "Has Maggie called you?" I asked "No, why?" he said "We got into a fight over tinder and she packed a bag and left. I don't know where she is and its driving me up the fucking wall" "I don't know what to tell you." he said and I walked over to our bar and grabbed the Jacks and drank it out of the bottle. "We have cups" he said I reached for my phone. "No. Friends don't let friends drink and dial. If you call her, she'll get angrier. You two need some space right now" he said and went into the bathroom "Willy, get in here" he yelled "no shouting" I said angrily "What is it?" "This" he said as he showed me a pregnancy test "it isn't mine and you're the one that doesn't need it." he said as he left the room. "its positive. I'm gonna be a dad. Latts I need my phone" "Why?" "I need to tell her that I love her and want her to come home" "Fine" he said, giving me my phone. I called her "Hello?" she said, and it sounded like she was crying. "Mags, are you okay?" "I took a pregnancy test and its positive. Tommy, I'm scared. I can't do this!" "Yes you can, I've seen you with your little cousins and the guys' kids. You'd be a fantastic mother. If you want your space I'll understand" "I'm at a hotel in Maryland and you're drunk. Let's meet up tomorrow around noon. Love you Tommy" she said "Love you too, Mags." "I need to let you drink and dial more often" Latts said from the kitchen "Go to bed" he said. I was grabbing a shirt and shorts to change into when I noticed that one of my shirts was missing and I knew that Maggie and I were gonna be fine, I just had to work at it since I've never had a relationship last this long. We're making our history and I'm excited and scared, but I know its with Maggie so we're gonna be fine. I passed the fuck out when I fell into bed.

The next day

Maggie's POV

I found a local diner in Maryland and I texted Tom the name and address. I wore his shirt and a pair of jeans. He walked in and smiled. "Hi baby" I said "Hey, Mags" he said as I leaned in for a kiss. "Have you been here long?" "No, a few minutes." I said as we looked over the menu. "What can I get y'all?" the waitress asked "I'll have a cheeseburger and a Sprite" I said "Grilled cheese and fries with a water for me" Tom said. "I couldn't sleep last night. I almost drove here and got you from the hotel" he told me when the waitress left. "I couldn't sleep either. I think it was good for us to spend a night apart that isn't due to a roadie . I know I spent time thinking about us and I missed sleeping on top of you" I told him "I rolled over this morning thinking that you were next to me. I sprayed some of your perfume onto a blanket and slept with that." he announced smiling. When the bill came, Tom and I were fighting over who was gonna pay for it. "No no no. I invited you therefore, I pay it." "Dad and my future father-in-law will kill me if they found out that I made you pay it" I laughed and put my hands in the air. I got up to use the washroom and saw an elderly man talking to Tom.

Tom's POV

Maggie texted me the name and address of the diner that she found. An elderly man came over and said "My wife and I couldn't help but over hear you two. You remind me of us when we were your age" "Thank you, sir." "How long have you two been together?" "We grew up together and I got my head out of my ass when she moved here from Toronto. Excuse my language, sir" "What do you mean you got your head out of your ass when she moved here?" "I finally purposed three weeks after she moved in with me. Her brother yelled that it was about time" I said and that's when she came back. "I'm happy for you two kids" he said when I got up and helped Maggie put her coat on. "Thank you, sir" we both said. That's when Maggie noticed that he was wearing a Korean Vet hat "On your six, sir" she said as she put her hand out "Do you have military experience?" "Yes sir, I was a Mounty for two years and my dad is still in the Navy back home" she said as we left. "Race you home" she said and winked.
