Maggie's POV
It was my first time being all alone in the apartment, I didn't start my new job for another week. I wasn't completely alone since Walter was with me. I decided to take him for a walk. I got a call from my brother, Pete when I was unlocking the door. "Hey! How are you and Tommy doing? "What? I asked "Well..." "Spill it" I said, knowing that he is terrible at keeping secrets "Tomlikesyoubutwon'tsayitandhedoesntwantyoutoknowbutkeeepthatinmind" he said "Anything else?" I asked "No. Don't tell him I told you" and I thought it over when I opened the door and put my new keys into my handbag, which was in Tom's room. I think part of him didn't want me to order a bed because I wouldn't be in the same bed as he is.
Tom's POV
I got out of practice and I had gotten a text from Peter, Maggie's brother. *I told her for you* was all it said "You told who what?" I asked when I called him. I figure I could get my yelling across better in a phone call vs a text "I told Maggie that you like her, but I told her that you didn't want her to know. You know I'm terrible with secrets" he said "WHY DID YOU TELL HER? I WANTED TO TELL HER WHEN I ASKED HER OUT." and that was when Laich and Latts walked in "Bet you 100 bucks that he won't ask her out" Latts said "It's on" Brooks replied "Now is your time to step up and be a man" Peter said "Pete I have to go kill two teammates"

That night
Tom's POV
"Andre, you go grab dinner with me?" Latts asked "I guess" Andre said "You don't sound that excited" Maggie said when she stood on the counter to grab a plate "Baby, you have 3 guys that are 6 feet tall here, you don't need to be on the counter" I told her "I know, I have socks on and it's not like y'all eat directly on this counter top anyway" she said, being the total smartass that she is and that I love her for. 45 minutes later, Latts and Andre left on their brodate. "What do you want for dinner?" she asked. "You" I thought, but I didn't say it. "I'll make burgers" I said. While the burgers were on the grill, I told her. I grabbed her hand and we went to the couch "Babe, I wanted to tell you this for years, but I didn't because I was afraid of what you would---" I started telling her and she kissed me and said "I know, I've been feeling the same way." "Wanna go out?" I stuttered, which wasn't one of my finer moments. Her grandpa had said that you shouldn't go out with anyone that doesn't make you nervous. She made me so fucking nervous every time I talk to her
