Missing You by All Time You

That's how I found myself at the animal shelter, walking up and down the wall of kennels. At the very end seemed to be an empty kennel. I walked up toward the door as a black pit bull emerged from the darkness. Her tail started wagging as I put my hand out for her to smell. The lady beside my told me that she seemed to really like me. "I'll take her."

Walking out to my car, I decided she would just ride in the front seat with me. I opened the door, expecting her to jump in. Instead, she stood there waiting for me to give her a command. "Up." Again, she just looked at me. I decided now would be a good time to name her. "Bacardi, up." She instantly hoped into the car. "You like that name? Okay then, Bacardi it is." She came with a collar and a leash so I walked her into Pet Smart setting out to find the food and toys. She decided she wanted to go get toys first as she dragged me to Aisle 5. I let her pick out 5 toys and then dragged her toward the food aisle. I quickly picked out a random bag and headed towards check out. I quickly checked out and made my way back to the car, stopping to let Bacardi do her business.

I stepped into my building, greeting the doorman as I went. I usually took the stairs but since I had company I decided to take the elevator. I stepped in and pushed the button for floor 6. "Hold It!" I heard as someone rushed into the building. I politely held the door as a tall, lanky figure with a ball cap pressed low over his eyes, stepped into the elevator. "What floor?" I asked. "Um, 10." replied the man. 'Floor 10. Rich man.' I pushed button 10 as I looked over at him to find him staring at Bacardi. "Are you just going to stare at my dog the entire time?" I laughed. He looked up as I stared at his face. Everyone in Pittsburgh knew that face. It was the face of none other than James Neal. "Sorry," he stuttered. The elevator dinged, signaling we had reached my floor. "Goodbye, Mr. Neal" I said as I stepped off the elevator, hearing the doors close behind me.

James POV

'Mr. Neal. What the hell!' Of course she recognized him. Everyone knew him. But she didn't make a big deal of it. He stepped onto the elevator and was immediately drawn to the dog by her side. A pit-bull. Feisty. He studied her as well, a pair of ripped jeans, red converse, and an All Time Low shirt were hard to miss. She had waist length brown hair with blonde highlights, not the type he usually went for but something told him she didn't want to sleep with him. She practically oozed confidence. The elevator ding broke him out of his thoughts as he stepped into his own apartment. Well more like suite. He started cleaning his apartment by practically shoving everything into his room. No one needed to be in there anyway. He checked to make sure he had enough beer, who was he kidding, of course he had enough beer.

His best friend, Evgeni Malkin, arrived first. "Lazy!" "Hey, buddy. Ready to get this party started!" Sidney Crosby quickly arrived followed by Paul Martin, Pascal Dupuis, Beau Bennett, Marc-Andre Fleury, Kris Letang,and Brandon Sutter. The party died down by three in the morning. Due to his intoxicated state, James fell asleep thinking about the blue-eyed beauty he met in the elevator.
