Chapter 5
As the boys were off talking with some of the players Sean pulled me over towards his spot and started to take off his skates “I thought you said you couldn’t make it tonights game that you had them for the night?” he asked with a confused look on his face “Not that I mind or anything just caught me off guard.” He covered swiftly scratching his beard.
I laughed a bit “Well I didn’t say that I said we’d be watching just not that we’d be here watching the game. And what happened to that goal you were supposed to score for me?” I explained and asked winking at him. Before sitting next to him in an empty stall looking over at Jamie talk to Claude and the guys laughing at Jamie and Finn doing their twin talk.
Sean looked over at them smiling then back to me “Sorry but I did pull an assist does that count for anything? How did you get the tickets so quick though?” he questioned leaning on the side of the stall closest to me looking at me.
“Well maybe that can count for something,” I said leaning towards him smirking “I get student discount plus Im pretty good with money and working on campus in our English department plus Erin and Harry pay me for nights like these even though I don’t want them to.” I say shrugging then look down at my phone seeing the time “Well if I don’t get these kids home they wont sleep a wink.” I say standing up.
Sean nods “Wow, and yeah well I hope they had a great time. I’ll see you tomorrow night?” he questioned standing up biting his upper lip. I nod “Yeah you just have to text me where you live,” I replied nodding “Well I better go get them before they really annoy your team. See you tomorrow Sean.” I hug him before walking away.
“Sorry boys but its time to go.” I announce as I make my way over to the kids “Aw really Aunt Maxie?” Finn askes sitting next to Jake. “Yeah really Aunt Maxie?” Claude repeats along with a couple other guys. “Yes if we don’t get home soon you wont sleep and you’ll be grouchy in the morning and then I have to deal with your dad.” I state “Plus Im pretty sure the team is tired of you rascals by now.” I comment gathering my nephews.
“Actually we were all having a great conversation about their peewee game.” Claude said messing with Jamies hair. “Thanks Claude.” I said and received a nod in response and a smile.

“Okay you rascals you be good for mom and dad, especially mom okay Darcy isn’t here yet but she is going to need all the help she can get when she does!” I said as I got the boys ready to go making sure their stuff was packed up and ready at the door.
“Yes Aunt Maxie!” they answered me with big smiles. When the door opened I heard a chorus of “Dad!” from the twins.
“Hey Harry both were perfect and still a little excited after meeting the team last night.” I said scratching my head smiling at my brother.
He nodded “I heard, but I also heard someone has a date tonight?” he replied smirking nodding his head.
“Oh my god yes I do with Sean Couturier.” I said aggravated that now almost everyone knew “You haven’t told mom and dad have you?” I asked raising my eyebrows.
He shook his head “Nah, thought you should do that one. Now we have to go before Erin calls thinking Ive harassed you about tonight. Please be safe Im not ready for nieces and nephews.” He answered leading the boys out of my apartment.
“What is it with everyone thinking Im going to have sex tonight?” I ask looking at my two dogs, before walking with them to my room to get ready for the date. Laying out my outfit I smiled content as I went to get in the shower. Just as I put a foot into the shower my phone started to ring picking it up without looking “Hello?” I ask as I lean against the counter.
“Hey so youre coming for six right?” I heard Sean ask through the phone “Am I interrupting something?” he asked again most likely hearing the shower.
I nodded “Uh yeah like six, six-thirty. I’ll text you when I get in the car to come over.” I answered. Laughing a bit after hearing the second question “Well yeah I was just about to literally step into the shower.” I said biting my lip feeling my cheeks redden.
“Oh! Uh sorry and okay yeah I’ll have everything ready for six-thirty then. Bye!” He replied quickly before hanging up. Laughing I stepped into the shower taking my time when I look down I saw my razor sighing I picked it up “Well I might as well just do it in case.” I commented as I started to shave.
After getting out of the shower I put lotion on my legs before drying my hair off I put my clothes on I mean it’s nothing fancy just black skinny jeans, a white tank top and a button up shirt. Walking back into the bathroom I pulled out my straightener fixing my hair. After finishing my hair. I looked at my phone seeing that it was five-thirty, quickly I pulled my make-up bag out. Looking at myself in the mirror at my outfit then down to my makeup I quickly did a neutral shade on my lid the put eyeliner on, picking up my red lipstick I felt eyes on me turning I saw nana sitting there with her head cocked to a side “What?” I asked looking at her watching her turn her head to the other side before letting out a whine “No lipstick?” I questioned getting a puppy grin in return “Okay okay no lipstick.” I complied walking into the room pulling on my jewelry before walking to the door grabbing my jacket and purse putting my shoes on I looked at my dogs “Go on go to bed you two no doggy business go on!” I called watching them walk to their little room.

I looked at his house as I turned my car off I looked at myself in the mirror “You can do this Maxine its just dinner and a movie.” I gave myself a pep talk as I grabbed my purse getting out of the car and walking up to his house once I reached the door I knocked hearing a “Just a minute!” from inside.
As the door opened I was greeted by Sean who smiled at me “Hey come on in! Dinners just about done.” He stated stepping back letting me walk in. “Did you find your way here alright?” he asked closing the door taking my jacket and bag.
I nodded taking my shoes off “Yeah no problem at all, thanks to a wonderful thing called GPS.” I commented laughing a bit walking with him into the kitchen “Nice, so whats for dinner Couturier?” I asked leaning on his island smiling at him looking around the kitchen “beautiful kitchen you pick it out?” I asked raising an eyebrow.
He laughed a bit “No my mom actually picked out most of it. I’ll tell her you approve of the design concept.” He answered checking the oven “For dinner we are having a pork roast and some mashed potatoes and corn.” Answering pulling out or food placing it on a hot plate that was sitting on the counter “I’ll give you a tour after we’re done. Want something to drink?” he questioned “I have water, Gatorade, diet coke, regular coke, beer, and red wine.” He listened.
I smiled nodding my head “Sounds and smells delicious, and uh wines good for me.” I said getting up to sit at the table where plates were set up waiting for him to come bring the food over.
“Here we go.” Sean stated walking over with the roast putting it on the table. “Hope you like it and red wine it is.” He said grabbing a bottle of wine before sitting. Pouring us both a glass we started eating “So how were the boys this morning, didn’t give you too much trouble I hope?” He asked taking a sip of his wine.
I nodded taking a bite of my food “They were perfectly fine, couldn’t stop asking how their aunt knew Coots. Thank you so much for that I have no idea how I can repay you.” I gushed leaning back in my chair taking a sip of my wine.
He shook his head finishing a bite of food “Well youre here so I’ll take that as payment.” He said leaning forward winking at me laughing a bit. “Im kidding its fine we always love meeting kids. So hows school been?” he asked leaning back taking another bite.
After we finished our food we both put our stuff in the sink before going out towards his living room sitting on his couch with another glass of wine. “So what are we watching?” I asked moving some hair out my face.
Sean walked in carrying his glass in one hand and two movies in the other “Well I have two choices, I have Ferris Buellers Day off and Independence Day.” He rattled off handing them to me.
Nodding I took them looking over them “Both great choices, but Im gonna have to go with Ferris Buller.” I responded handing him the DVD getting settled on the couch as he set it up before coming to sit next to me. Half way through the movie I found myself closer to Sean than I had been when it started. As Ferris started lip singing I started bopping my head and moving around in my seat “Come on dance with me!” I exclaimed standing up grabbing his hand as we danced around the room.
As it ended we both were in each other’s arms laughing “You know you’re a pretty good dancer.” He complimented we started to sway forgetting the movie playing in the background.
I looked blushed looking up at him “Yeah, well you’re not so bad yourself.” I commented letting out a little laugh as he nodded his head pushing some of my hair out of my face. Slowly he started to lean in and I found myself leaning up to meet him halfway.
Feeling his lips on mine sent a shock through me I’ve never felt before. Feeling his arms wrap around me, I slowly wound mine around his neck. Pulling away pressing my forehead against his, we both let out a breath and a small chuckle “Wow.” We both said smiling at each other. Before I knew it I felt his lips on mine again, taking my lip between his teeth I let out a moan letting his tongue slide into my mouth.
Pulling us back to the couch he sat down pulling me down so I was straddling him. Wrapping my arms around his neck he buried his face in my chest before kiss up towards my neck, feeling his beard brush against my skin made me let out a little laugh, pulling away Sean looked up at me with a confused expression “Whats so funny?” he questioned letting his hands rest on my waist.
I shook my head “Nothing, just your beard tickled me a bit.” I responded letting my hands stroke his arms. I watched him nod then saw an expression makes its way across his face “Sean, don’t you even think about it!” I exclaimed feeling his grip become tighter as I tried to get off his lap.
“You’re in for it now!” he said as he started to tickle my sides. A mixture of laughter and screams escaped my mouth trying to bat away Seans hands. Rolling over placing myself on the floor making space between us.
“I surrender! No more!” I laughed calming down, picking up my phone I looked at the time “Ah shit its late, I should probably be getting home.” I stood up but stumbled a bit finally feeling the alcohol hit me. “Hey, hey take it easy.” Sean stood next to me grabbing my arms “You’re in no shape to drive home Max, you can sleep in my guest room and drive home tomorrow.” He reasoned, giving him a nod leaning into him closing my eyes.
