My Not So Extravagant Life

First Time for Everything

When I was little, I wasn't particularly close to my family, since we moved almost constantly. I was born in Philly, lived in Colorado, and Canada. I grew up with the Canadian side of my family, and my relatives in Great Britain, and Sweden. I grew up speaking French Canadian, Swedish, and English. When I was just about to go into third grade we moved again, but this time it was the last. We moved to a small city in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Because of the education systems being different I got held back. I was put in second grade, again. The changes from moving I was used to by that point, but it was still hard for me to move and leave behind my friends and family. That move is what separated me from my Canadian roots, and my cousins, who had become my best friends. Many years passed and I soon forgot all about hockey and my Canadian relatives. 11th grade started and I got sucked into the college process. My father had decided to buy Phantoms tickets. We went to many games and I ran into an aunt I hadn't seen in almost 10 years. Her son, Andrew Gordon, was a Phantoms player. I grew up with him and had played some hockey with him and his friends, Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Hockey season and my junior year went by. At the end of the season I had to say goodbye again to Andrew. He was going to Sweden to play hockey. You're probably wondering where is this going, well i'll have to focus on Penguins hockey.
