Four Years Later (Squeal to My New Life)

Sid's P.O.V
I need to talk to my parents to tell them what's going on. Kaley was watching T.V and Mom made me a plate.
"Mom, dad we need to talk." They gave me a look.
"Rebecca told me what you are talking behind her back and she's upset that the fact that you don't believe that Kaley's my daughter or your granddaughter." Mom grab my hand.
"We just wanted you to be safe that's all."
"I have know Rebecca for 6 years and way more than you. Just please trust me about this."
"I do trust you and I will say sorry when Rebecca get's home."
"Well after her shower because after her runs she wants to be clean before she talks to anyone else." I kiss mom in the cheek and headed over to Kaley with my breakfast. About an hour Rebecca came home and I can hear the music blasting in her ears. She ran up the stairs and into the room. I look up at my parents and gave them the look saying “ see I told you" I went up stairs to tell her. When I open the door she was sitting on the bed trying the catch her breath.
"How was your run?"
"Good, I really needed that." I sat next to her and I told her about what I told my parents.
"They want to say sorry." She nodded her head.
"Thank you." She kiss my cheek.
"You need a shower, you smell really bad." She push me but did went to take a shower. When I came down stairs Kaley wanted to play a game with me. We went outside in the back and we kick the soccer. Even my dad came out and played with us.
"You never told us what her last name is?"
"It's Neal right now because she didn't know at that time who was the dad. The only way she could get my name if I adopted her when I marry Rebecca." Dad nodded.
"I just can't believe that you don't believe me and to me if I told this to you and mom. Both of you will be disappoint with me."
"We will never be disappoint to you. We love you and will always be by your side no matter what. It's just women will go through great lengths just to be with you."
"I have know Rebecca more than you, so you need to stop that right there. I knew that Kaley was mine because I could feel it and she does look like me. Kaley, daddy's going to get some water I'll be back." I slam the sliding glass door and when I turn around Rebecca and my mom were talking.
"Hey." I grab my water bottle. Before I went to the door, I felt someone grab my arm. It was Rebecca and I could see it in her eyes that she knows that I am not happy.
"Sid can you help me with something?" She pulled me into the garage.
"What's wrong?"
"Oh, dad is pissing me off and I can't wait for him to leave.”

When my parents left I was now in a great mood. That night when Rebecca and I were in bed, she was reading and I was watching her.
"It's weird that your looking at me."
"Well I'm soaking everything before you leave tomorrow."
"I'm going to call everyday and we are going to Skype."
"What did my mom say to you."
"She said sorry about judging me before she really met me and that she's proud of me that I didn't want to hurt your feelings and being a single mom." In bed I wrap my arm around her and breath in everything to. I'm going to miss her cotton smell a lot.

In the morning I had to take Kaley and Rebecca to the airport. James wanted to come and say goodbye to. When we got tot the airport I was holding Kaley because I don't want her to leave and I don't want Rebecca to leave to.
"Daddy we need to go." Rebecca hold her hands out of Kaley. I though James need to help Rebecca to get Kaley out of my arms. I gave Kaley a kiss on the forehead.
"I will see you soon."
"Bye Daddy." Then I gave Rebecca a kiss on the lips.
"I'll call you when we land, I will do the same for you James." Rebecca gave James a hug to.
"Bye Kaley." James said.
"Bye Uncle James." I gave Rebecca one more kiss than I let them go.

Rebecca's P.O.V
When we got home Kaley was out like a light. When I put her to bed I got a text from Sid.
"How was the flight? Is Kaley sleeping? Did you put her to bed?"
"The flight was good, yeah Kaley is sleeping and I just did a second ago." I do miss Sid a lot now since I am going to marry him. Then my phone was ringing, it was Sid. I bet that he miss my voice. I do miss his voice a lot to. I walk into my room.
"Hey."
"Hey, I miss you already and I really wanted to hear your voice."
"I do to miss your voice."
"I just wanted to call you to tell you good night and that I love you."
"Good night and I love you to. We should Skype when you get home from a game. When's your next game."
"We will be in Buffalo, then Florida and then home. So we will be home between Buffalo and Florida but only for a day."
"Ok, I bet in the morning Kaley will want see you again." We both hung up the phone and went to bed. In the morning I had to take Kaley to school. When I got to the school there was Molly and Harper waiting for us to walk them inside. After putting them in the class that they are in together we went to a coffee shop and just talk.
"So anything fun while you were in Pittsburgh?" I showed her my ring.
"No way! When's the date?"
"We haven't though of it because season starts for him and his team today. That I wanted to focus on Kaley's education."
"How?" I told her.
"So I was thinking because what I did you for the past five years and that the fact that you are still talking to me. I was wondering if you would be my maid of honor?"
"Yes I will!”

I went home,clean the house and getting the house ready for the game tonight. Molly was going to have Kaley and then they are coming here to watch the game. While we are watching the game Kaley was keeping saying.
"Go Daddy Go!" That's the most cutes thing I have ever heard. I video her while she was watching the game. I send him the video. He love it.
Couple of months later and the Penguins are doing great. We have been Skype with Sid before he goes to CEC or headed to the airport. We were going to fly to Pittsburgh for X-mas. Kaley was very happy to see Sid. She wasn't the only that miss him. When we got to his place I could see that Sid clean up the place before he left for Phoenix. He said that he was going to bet us home, but we beat him first. I was making dinner when I heard the door open.
"Daddy!" I hear Kaley. I turn around and I see that Kaley ran up to Sid. Sid pick her up,gave her a hug and a kiss on her cheek. He walk over to me a gave me a kiss on the lips.
"Kaley I have an early Christmas gift for you." She eyes lit up.
"We have to go in your room." We all walk into her room and it look amazing. I didn’t look in this room and when Sid open the door to the room. It was redone for Kaley.
"Thank you Daddy!" He set her down and he wanted to play her new toys. He wrap his arms around me and we watch Kaley play. Then I remember something.
"Dinner! It's going to burn." I ran into the kitchen and lucky that it didn't burn. Sid came into the kitchen. When I got dinner and put food on plates. I went over to Sid's ear.
"I want to give your christmas gift tonight when Kaley's asleep.”




"I want the wedding to be in the summer, like July. Or after you guys win the cup." I look up at Sid.
"July will be perfect, where?"
"I want it at Point State Park, with that big fountain"
"That would be a great spot."
"I just want the team and family to come. No friends because it would be to much and we can have the party there to." Sid grab his phone to look at the calander. It looks like July 28 would be the best idea just incase if we do get to the playoffs and the final.”
After chirstmas Kaley still had another week off from school and so we are staying until after New Years Eve then I have to plan everything for the wedding. Kaley and I had to go back to Portland. Sid never like this at all, but he knows that this is all for Kaley's education.
"So when is Kaley's spring break?"
"The last week of March and it's two weeks, it's longer than her winter break.”


March
The Penguins were on a great winning streak and Sid was on a roll. I couldn't wait for the next game because this will be Kaley's first game and watch Sid in person not on T.V. The Penguins were playing the Islander and it's going to be Kaley's first hockey game to go to. We sat with the Cooke family. I was taking a lot of pictures before the game started. I was watching Sid the whole time, when I heard Kaley.
"I can see Daddy!" Then something bad happen to Sid. He got hit with the puck and he was on the ice. I didn't know what I should do. I look at Michelle to see what I need to do.
"Go down there, I can watch Kaley for you. We can take Kaley back to our place if Sid won't come back to the game."
"Thank you. Kaley I have to go and see how Daddy's doing. You might have to spent the night with the Cooke's family ok." She nodded her head and I gave her a kiss on the head. I grab my bag and headed downstairs. When I got downstairs I see Billy Guerin.
"Billy what's going on, how and where's Sid?"
"Rebecca, he went to the hospital to get his teeth back in place."
"Which hospital?" He told me the hospital that he went to and head over there. When I got to the hospital and found where I need to go to see him. I went to the front desk.
"Can I help you with something?"
"Yes my ...." Should I just say it since it's true. I mean she's not going to tell anyone.
"Yes I am here to see how my fiance Sidney Crosby."
"How did you know that he was here?"
"Because Bill Guerin just told me and I saw the whole thing in person."
"What's your name?"
"Rebecca Neal, yes I am sister of James Neal."
"Just once second." She got up and headed to the back. A couple of minutes later she came out back.
"He would be done in about two more hours do you want to stay or leave and we can call you back when's he is up and wanted to see you."
"No I will stay." I turn around and sat at the chair and waited. Two hours later, I could see that two nurses are pushing Sid's bed into a recovering room. My knee was bouncing and when I saw the bed, my knee went ten times faster. One of the nurses came out.
"Miss.Neal Sid's ready for you." I jump out of my seat and walk fast to get to his room.
"He might fall back to sleep since he got out but you can stay with him all night if you want to. He did lost the whole front bottom row of his teeth and broke his jaw. The doctor will tell you more in the morning. He would be out for a month."
"Thank you." When I got inside his room I was trying to think how am I going to tell Sid the bad news. A month of no hockey, that's going to tear him apart. He was laying there with his mouth full of cotton. He look a hamster stuff his cheeks. I sat down next to him. I wanted to touch his cheeks but I didn't want him to be in pain. So I grab his hand and place my head on his leg. Then I felt someone touching my hair. I look up and I see that Sid was touching my hair.
"Hey." I smooth his hair out of his face.
"You need a hair cut soon." He wanted to talk but he knows that it's to early to get those cotton swabs out with all the blood his lost before, during or after the surgery. He try to grab the cotton swabs. I grab his hand before he got a hold of it.
"No you don’t, that needs to stay in and help's heal it faster. Sid you wont be able to play for a whole month you lost the whole front bottom row of your teeth and broke your jaw.On the good side we won, Cookie and James got it in and Kaley's going to spend the night with the Cooke's tonight since I am going to be here." Sid shook his head side to side.
"Sid I want to be here, I need to be here and do what I want to do. I know that Kaley's having a good time right now." Sid nodded his head and close his eyes, fell back to sleep. I kiss his head and put my head on his left leg. In the morning Sid was still sleeping and I was watching TV when Ray and Mario came in. I gave them both a hug.
"So do you two know what happen?"
"Yeah we knew from last night, how's he doing?"
"I think he processing it, I mean his whole life is about hockey and that the fact that he can't play for month. From everything he went through last year and with his ankle. I am with him, I am processing this to. I want to be with him, but then I have Kaley to take care of in Portland. I..... I don't know what to do." Then all of a sudden I was starting to cry, I could feel someone giving me a hug. I look up and it was James. He was here with me. Then we heard Sid groan. We all walk over to see how he's doing. I wanted to dry my face from my tears.
"I'm going to get the nurse to get the cotton stuff out of his mouth." Before the nurses put more cotton swabs.
"How are you doing?" Ray ask. Should Sid not talk because his jaws was just fix.
"I'm doing ok." He tried to smile but he was in pain a lot. The doctor came to see how Sid was doing.
"I do have a some good news,we didnot have to wired shut your mouth which is a good sign in terms of how long his recovery will be. However Sid you still need to be here for a couple of more days. We also put a titanium plate to heal a little bit faster." Neal was going to pick up Kaley from Cooke's place and I was going to stay longer. Before everyone left Ray whisper in my ear.
"Don't worry I will try to find a way soon."
"Thank you." After I left Sid at the hospital I had to go to the store for James and Kaley. While I was checking out.
"So did you hear about Crosby?" The cashier asks.
"Yeah I was there in person."
"Man that's suck for him, I mean not only losing some teeth but broke his jaw. Hope he heels soon. Have a great day." When I got home James was there with Kaley. They were watching T.V. Kaley saw me and ran up to me.
"Hey sweetheart, did you have a good time with the Cooke's?" She nodded her head.
"When can I see daddy?" I look up at James.
"Daddy's not here right now, he's busy with something right now."
"When is he coming home?"
"I don't know. You know what lets go see him, I think he is missing you right now a lot." James, Kaley and I went to the hospital. We were getting close to his room.
"So Kaley daddy's not feeling well and so mommy, nurses and the doctors have to take care of him before we have to go home." I pick her up and we headed to his room. Once I open the door I see that Sid was still sleeping. When I sat Kaley down and she walk to the bed. I was behind her, his eyes slowly open and fluttery a couple of times. He put his hand on Kaley's face. Then there was something wrong with Sid's face. The doctor told me that he might throw up from all the pills that they gave him. I move Kaley and got the bucket out for him.
"James !" James grab Kaley and went to get a nurses.
"Daddy!" When the nurses came and help me, Sid look so embarrassed throwing up in front of Kaley.
"You couldn't do anything, you knew that was coming."
