Never Expected This

Chapter 1

A Hunter Hayes concert in Montreal! It doesn't get any better than this. See what I did there. Well, I'm allowed to be excited for my FIRST concert. Yes, I know I'm 19 and this is my first concert. But to be honest I've never had the time to go to any concert nor the money. A mother that left me and a father that died, all of this happened by the time I was 8. So you know what that means, foster care. *insert eye roll here* When I turned 16 I got a job to help for my sister and I's financial problem. Even though I know that my dad would hate to see me work, we needed the money, desperatly. We didn't have enough money to pay for intution. So I took a year off after high school and worked so I had enough money to pay for my first year. Was it hard? You can bet it was. But I'm a McFadder and McFadder's don't give up.
I should probably introcduce myself. My name is Isabelle McFadder. I have one sibbling, Cameron (Cam) McFadder. And like I said, I had and still pretty much have a shitty life. I have one friend and she's amazing. Annie, beautiful grey eyes, mermaid lenght dirty blond hair, natrual rosy cheeks. She's an only child who's parents are still around. She's so elegant and graceful, even if she trips on herself, the way she does it, I envy it. Don't get me wrong I love her with all my heart but next to her I get so selfconscience. My brown eyes and dark hair are nothing compared to her beauty. Her perfect heart shape face and even though I'm 1 size smaller then her, she's still so beautiful with her hour shape figure.
As I hear her complain about how she should have brough cuter clothes to the concert (which she paid for), I smiled playfully towards her. I really don't understand what she meant. Her high waist jeans accentuated her curves. I seriously don't understand.
"Annie, you look beautiful." I said standing next to her. As always, I thought.
"You think so?" She asked ajusting her jeans jacket. Probably an Armani, I thought.
"Yes, Annie." I said smiling.
We showed our ticket to the guy responsible and waited for the show to begin. Looking at my surroundings, I saw a few guys checking Ann out. I rolled my eyes; typical. I nudge her.
"Looks like you've attracted guys."
"Oh goodie, I hope their cuter than Seath (a.k.a. her ex boyfriend)"
"I hope one of them would give me a second glance." I sighed. I felt her arm wrap me.
"They will don't worry. " She said giving me a reassuring smile. Before I had teh chance to reply " Storm Warning" started.
During the most part of the concert I was singing the words with the artirst. Not to loud in case someone heard my God forbidden voice. Ann on the other hand was singing without a care in the world, hitting the notes as good as Whitney Houston.
By the end of the concert Hunter had one song left, Invisible. When the bridge came the fans grabbed each others hand. To my left, Annie; to my right, a handsome stranger. Nervously, I tried to build enough courage to hold his hand. It wasn't the fact I didn't know him but the fact he was so attractive. Jesus, Iz get a grip. He's just a guy. I took a deep breath and grabbed his hand. He looked at me surprised but quickly brushed off like it was nothing.
When the concert finished, I saw Anni talking to Seath upgrade and his entourage. Again, typical. She'll talk to them, then he'll offert her to go to the bar. She'll agree which means, leaving me alone in the hotel room. Horray for best friends! I wonder, how can she find the courage to talk to them? Maybe she just doesn't care what they think. I felt someone touching my shoulder. I immediately turned around, it was the good looking guy.
"Hey." He said flashing a beautiful smile. Oh God, why is he talking to me? Should I say hello? No that's to formal. Oh how about a casual sup. Yeah I think that could work. I don't know what to do.
"I'm so sorry for holding your hand." Really an apologie? He laughed at me. Great, now you did it.
"I really didn't mind." He said.
"You didn't? Why not?" I asked. What I still don't understand is why is he talking to me. No guy has ever showed any interest in me. I'm a bit of a smart mouth, when I'm not nervous. Plus guys like girls who smile, don't talk back and show them the goods if you get what I mean.
"I don't know." He said once again smiling with such perfection. He must be a model, I thought.
"My name is Isabelle." I said. Why am I such a nervous wreck? Like he cares what my name is.
"Mine's Brendan. You aren't from here are you?" He said. His jaw structure was well defined. His hair, a perfect shade of brown fixed like an imperfect perfection. And his eyes, God his eyes; the softest pair of green eyes I have ever seen. Why would such a beautiful creation dare speak to me?
"No." I said, nervously.
"Really? Where are you from then?" He asked; so calm and composed, unlike me.
"Ottawa." I said.
" Are you driving back tonight?" He asked.
"No." I said. For a few seconds we stared at each other. His eyes searched my face trying to find an anwser. Maybe to why I was anwsering with single responses. Why is he taking his precious time analyzing me? I felt my heart flutter. It's nice having someone take their time to figure you out. I felt my cheeks flush, I decided to look down. That's when he spoke.
"Why are you blushing?" He asked. I looked up and saw a small smirk on his face.
"I... Er... I was just wondering why are you looking at me that way." I said.
"And how was I looking at you?" He said that smirk still so visible.
"Well, I... er... I don't know exactly... er... how to say it?" I said.
"What hotel are you staying at?" He asked changing the subject.
"I don't know but Annie said it's near a big arena." I said. I should have paid attention during our road trip.
"You mean the Bell center?" He said trying to restrain himself from laughing. What's so funny? I thought.
"Oh dear yes, that's what she told me. It's must be a big arena then." I said. He, once again laughed at me now.
"Are you serious?" He said, trying to stop his laughter, obviously failing.
"Does it look like I'm joking?" I said.
"Would like me to drive you back to your hotel?" He asked once again changing the subject. Boys and their short attention span.
"No thank you, I have to leave with Annie." And by the moment I had uttered her name she had immediately came next to me.
"Isabelle, I'm going to go and grab a drink with Rick (Seath's upgrade). Could you take a taxi?" She asked. Honestly, I don't know why she even bothered. Her request sounded more like a demand.
"I..." I said.
"Great! Thanks, I'll text you the name of the Hotel." She said hugging me and whispered.
"Told you a guy would." And like that she left. She left me shocked. No puzzled, unable to form a simple response.
"So about that ride offer?" He whispered in my ear. I turned to face him, he's too confident.
"What about it?" I said smirking and walked away.
