First Love - Part 1

James and Maddie are at the doctor to see if Maddie is indeed pregnant. James is holding Maddie’s hand as he tries to comfort her.

James - It’ll be ok baby. Everything will be ok.
Maddie - I know I’m just a little nervous.
James - It’s ok baby. I’m nervous too.
Maddie - You are?
James - You bet I am. I never thought I would be a father.
Maddie - Aww, and you’ll be a wonderful father.
James - Do you really think so?
Maddie - Of course I do.

James gives Maddie a kiss when the doctor comes into the room. She performs and ultrasound on Maddie’s belly.

Doctor Jade - Congratulations Maddie you are pregnant with twins.
Maddie - Did you just say I’m carrying twins?
Doctor Jade - Yes, you are hon. It appears after your miscarriage you became very fertile.
Maddie - Wow, that’s amazing. Right sweetie?
James - (Smiles) It sure is. I wasn’t expecting twins. So when is Maddie due?
Doctor Jade - It appears your twins were convinced on July 9th so she will be due somewhere around April 1st. Making her exactly 1 month pregnant. Maddie, since you miscarried the last time I want to see you every other month to make sure you’re doing ok.
Maddie - Ok, I can do that.
Doctor Jade - I will see you again when you’re 3 months along.
Maddie - Ok
James - Thank you doctor

James and Maddie head home. They get home. They decide to tell James’s mom what they found out at the doctor.

Deborah - So what did you find out at the doctor?
Maddie - I’m pregnant with twins.
Deborah - Twins? I wasn’t expecting that.
James - We weren’t either. Maddie’s doctor said that she became really fertile after the miscarriage. Our twins were conceived a week after we got back together.
Deborah - (Laughs) Oh so I know what you two were doing the night you got back together.
James - (Laughs) Shut up Mom.
Deborah - I’m teasing sweetie.
Maddie - I’m going to go take a nap. Why don’t you join me James?
James - I’ll be right there babe.
Maddie - Ok

She gives James a kiss and then goes into the bedroom to take a nap. James and his mom talk some more.

James - I can’t believe Maddie is carrying twins.
Deborah - It makes sense now with how sick she’s been. Why don’t you go cuddle with her?
James - I think I will.

James gives his mom a hug. James goes into the bedroom to check on Maddie. He sees that she is sound asleep. He goes over to the bed and lays down beside her. He wraps his arms around her so that they’re spooning with one another. He is asleep a short time later until later that night. James and Maddie get up and are cuddling on the couch while James’s mom makes. Maddie decides to give Jordan a call to tell him the baby news.

Jordan - Hey, sis what do you want?
Maddie - Just wanted to tell you that James and I were at the doctor today.
Jordan - Did you find out why you’ve been so sick lately?
Maddie - I’m pregnant with twins.
Jordan - Twins? That’s amazing news. I’m so happy for you and James.
Maddie - Thank you Jordan. That really means a lot that you’re in mine and James’s corner.
Jordan - Oh damn. Eric just heard me and is calling Mom as we speak.
Maddie - Great, I don’t need her down here.
Jordan - James and his mom will protect you.
Maddie - I know they will. I should go. Dinner is ready.
Jordan - Ok, take care of yourself Maddie.
Maddie - Don’t worry I will.

Maddie and Jordan hang up. She goes back to cuddling with James until James’s mom tells them dinner is ready. They go into the kitchen and eat. As they’re eating they talk for awhile. Maddie heads to bed while James helps his mom pick up the table. James goes into the bedroom to check on Maddie. He sees that she is sound asleep. He goes over to the bed and lays down beside her. He wraps his arms around her so that they’re spooning with one another. He is asleep a short time later until the next morning. A few days pass. Maddie’s mom comes down to confront James and Maddie. Poor Maddie starts having flashbacks of the night she was forced to break up with James and also the night she lost her and James’s baby.
