Something Isn't Missing [Tyler Seguin]

Chapter 3

(Jae’s POV)
The time comes that I need to sneak into my room to get my shit for tonight and tomorrow. His mom already told me that I can come over any time I need to get out of there. Not sure if she said that because she saw the injuries I was sporting or not, but whatever the case is, I’m grateful.
I sneak into the apartment, going undetected, and get to work packing an overnight bag. I shove my regular jeans, a red and blue long sleeve stop, my hair brush, hairspray, deodorant, body spray, toothbrush and makeup bag in before placing it onto the fire escape. I toss Tyler’s sweater (the same one from the night I first met him) into my book bag and make my way out. I do a quick once over before slugging the other bag over my shoulder and head back down to get to Ty’s.
I thank him again before hopping into the bathroom to shower. I turn the water on and let it heat up as I strip off my clothes from the day. I step in and feel the hot water rush overly body, wincing slightly when it hits the fresh cuts. I wash my hair and let conditioner sit while I wash my body, being careful of the cuts. I rinse out my hair before stepping out and turning off the water.
I knock on Ty’s door to get clothes when he tosses out one of his shirts to me. I pull it on, along with my underwear, sweatpants and socks before re-entering his room. I notice that he set up another bed (aka, pillows and blankets) on the floor. He sits down, offering me his bed.
“I’m not letting you sleep on the floor, you’re my best friend, dude.” He tells me, almost sensing my apprehension toward sleeping in his bed. I thank him and climb under the covers.
“I saw your phone charger dangling out of your bag so I plugged it in, it’s in the clip on the night stand.” He tells me. I turn my head to see it exactly where he said it would be. I hear him let out a yawn, so I turn off the lamp on the nightstand.
“I have an alarm set for 5:30 so I have time to make my face look some degree of normal.” I warn him while plugging in my phone before rolling to face him on the floor.
“That’s when mine would normally go off, but thanks for that warning.” He chuckles, trailing off into a yawn which I eventually mirror.
“Get some sleep, Lareau.” He laughs. I roll my eyes and whisper a goodnight to him which he mimics before I trail off into the darkness.
